“Apps were good- chicken wings and calamari. Entrees left a lot to be desired. The clams with tagliolini were too salty and beef bourguignon was pretty bland. Almost no non alcoholic drinks on the menu. I would suggest a blueberry basil soda or a passion fruit and ginger. The atmosphere was nice, I might return just for appetizers.”

“Absolutely loved the Eccentric Bagel! Decided to visit Shelter Island as a weekend getaway from western LI and did not expect to find one of my favorite bagel places of all time. Loved being in the area for the first time ever, and will definitely be back to the Eccentric Bagel, which has my highest recommendation. In addition to some amazing bagel sandwiches, the tuna salad was some of the best I've ever had. Loved seeing Cel-Ray so far east too!”

“I love this place. Great vibe. Marie's breads, patties, and croissants are wonderful, and the coffee is also excellent. Groceries are expensive, but they have to be shipped and sold on Shelter Island. So it should be expected. Try it.”

“Earl and his family have preserved so much history into this tiny little restaurant. The place is like a living timewarp from the 70's, and the food is even better. The lobster was cooked to perfection and the striped bass was outstanding. This place is off the grid, but don't let that fool you. You can't do any better for seafood on this island. Thank you to Earl and his family for keeping up a family tradition of excellent food and a great, down to earth atmosphere. Special thanks from our kids who you allowed back to see the live lobsters. We will see you every time we are in Shelter Island.”

“I love the Rams Head Inn. Its a little drive to get there but worth the trip! They have Jazz in the bar/restaurant in the winter and stunning views on the great lawn in the summer.”

“So happy these new owners are here! Best pizza we had in a very long time! Perfectly cooked crust, excellent sauce and a nice amount of cheese! Plus, the place is spotlessly clean! Can't wait to go back and try the sausage roll that my brother-in-law said was awesome! Tonights special was $12 a pie! (They had a few different specials for the week) A home run!”

“Worth the ferry ride and winding country roads. Vine Street Cafe feels like you've discovered something once you wander off the beaten path of traditional Hamptons lore -- yet it shares so many of the summer qualities that the rest of the area rests on. It is cozy inside and out, with its modest hedges and sign just a few feet from the country road and woods. The food was very good, including the Lobster Pot Pie and Moules Frites (in basil saffron broth), but the place was suffering from early summer staffing issues. The waitstaff was overworked and a little distracted from dinner service that you'd expect for $50 per entree place. We waited about an hour between appetizer and entree with only a few stray looks from our fearful waitress (who gave us the same look that we saw from the deer running through Shelter Island) and a 2nd basket of bread after some inquiries. We attributed that minor hiccup to the first summer weekend of integrating new staff with old and having the restaurant filled to capacity for the first evening of the summer. But that was the only bad we found. We found the staff accommodating and kind. We found the food fresh and well treated. The drinks were competitively priced for a higher end places, and its reputation ended up being well preserved. Would love to try this place in midsummer or off-season form. Go if you can get in.”

“Great variety of delicious ice cream, great atmosphere with wonderfully nice people behind the counter. There's a small arcade in the back where kids and adults can enjoy playing new and old arcade games. The mini golf course has some awesome decor and is a blast. All in all it's an especially great place to take kids.”

“Super adorable and chic bed and breakfast. I found them for a quick last minute trip and everything was great! Check in was simple, the reception staff is delightful and helpful, the room was adorable, the bed was so comfy, and breakfast the next day was great on that beautiful patio. I cannot say enough good things. So happy we found this place!”

“We stopped in for dinner on the bar side during the off season with live Saturday night music. The music was awesome, 5-stars to him (@reedsingssongs). My burger had a delicious taste to it but the bun was toasted with a little too much smoke for my liking. I wished the duck fat fries were a little more crispy. My girlfriend’s chicken parm was phenomenal. Our waiter was serving double duty at the bar, and we were looking for a long casual night anyway, but I wish he was a bit more attentive. He waited about 30 minutes after our meals came out before he asked if everything was okay, and I could finally ask him for some salt, pepper, and sauce. Overall a great atmosphere and a wonderful Saturday night.”

“First visit. Small, simple dining area area and outdoor seating. Order food in fish market and they bring it to you. Fried chicken, broiled sea scallops and oysters on the 1/2 shell were very good. Reasonably priced.”

“Awesome place to chill and have fun. The view at the bay is wonderful, a DJ is playing very cool house vibes, the crowd is cool and cheerful. One big minus is lack of any decent food or even snack. That's a big thumbs down.”
