“Atmosphere is nicer than Waffle House and the food was delicious. Waitress Kayla was very sweet. That said, I never thought I could spend $50 on breakfast in Leland, NC until I had breakfast at ESC. I didn’t like seeing that I was charged $3 for one cup of coffee, and $4.50 for one cup of OJ. I don’t have to mind drink prices when I go out to eat, but when I saw the bill it definitely added up. Lower your prices. I know you take pride in your product, but dang. I’m spending more for breakfast (and I’m not full) than I do for a dinner at most restaurants with a nicer atmosphere.”

“They have the best tacos you can get anywhere within 40 mins from calabash, they are pretty authentic and tasty. They make their own pineapple and green salsa that is delicious by itself, with chips, or all over your taco. “Homemade Italian dishes made from fresh ingredients on-site. Attentive service. Comfortable, casual setting. We started with the house salad - very fresh greens dressed with a nicely blended Italian - not too tart and not overly seasoned. Our entrees (shrimp scampi and prosciutto wrapped manicotti) were very well prepared, served piping hot and delicious! This was our first visit and we definitely will return.”

“I asked an employee at Dollar Tree where she would go if she wanted a good, “down home” breakfast. She told me Homestyle Foods, not fancy but very good food. Boy, was she right! It is so unassuming, located in the center of a strip mall! It’s diner food, but on a higher level. I decided on lunch, and had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans. (Those are the sides it comes with, and is listed as such on the menu!). I was pleasantly surprised! A HUGE piece of meatloaf, and the BEST I have ever eaten! I could see the diced onions, and it was covered with brown gravy, instead of tomato sauce or ketchup, which complemented this meatloaf perfectly. The mashed potatoes were real, but nothing special, and the green beans were obviously from a can. But the meatloaf! I even returned to have the meatloaf a second time during my week of vacation at Holden ?Beach! But they had sold out of the meatloaf! Instead I had Country Fried Steak. It was good, seasoned well, breaded and deep fried, with white gravy. It was very tasty, I just had my mouth set for their Meatloaf!”

“I work here and oysters are my favorite food. I won the oyster eating contest in Connecticut this year and I practiced all year in the best place to do it! A lot of my family work here too. “Regular shopping day but made so much more than that by several wonderful employees! Stopped at Sammy’s sandwiches and Kayla’s enthusiasm was above and beyond! Loved how she greeted us, described the sandwiches and served us with attention and detail. Then we went to the pulled pork/chicken station and again greeted by several employees and helped with such kindness. To end it all off, Bridgette ( I’m pretty sure that was her name!) checked us out with another employee bagging and we had a chance to laugh together and truly enjoy our experience.
