“The pizza was great. The sausage had a ton of flavor, crust was crispy, and the cheese was just the right amount of gooey. The garlic knots are extremely addicting and super affordable. We came back throughout the week just for more garlic knots. Great friendly service with nice outdoor seating. Definitely stop in!”

“This place came highly recommended by a client of mine. We sat in the bar area at a booth, while the food was just alright, the service left much to be desired. we had to ask twice for silverware and I believe it was on the third request that we finally received the condiments that we wanted for our meal. After finishing our meal, we went outside. The outside area was much better. We went to the bar to get our own drinks, which were great, there was a band playing and games to play. With so many other places in the area, I don't think we will go back.”

“Place is a very lively cozy establishment. Owner’s hands on and very receptive to their customer’s. My buddy and I were down for the night and decided to stop in and get us a Large Pie as we needed to quell the sudden munchies that we felt and found the pizza to be very tasty indeed. They do have a very nice menu selection. If ever down in the Kill Devil Hills area look them up. It’s worth the stop!”

“From the outside this wonderful Thai restaurant doesn’t look like much, it’s heavenly on the inside! I recommend the booths in the back, where one gets a cozy private meal surrounded by pillows & beautiful art! Both times we went, the staff was warm, welcoming, and wasn’t rushing us! The appetizers and soups were wonderful (we managed to try 6), they even made a special cucumber salad for us without hesitation! My friend ate Chinese dishes that were all sweet & sour, loved them - too boring for me however! Shrimp & noodle dish for me with cilantro and lime, heat level 8 - the first night. Second they made me a special fruit curry with shrimp and my pick of vegetables! Dessert, the deep fried bananas dipped in honey - I just couldn’t resist! Both my guest and I left full and happy! For such excellent food, the prices were very reasonable! Great food, wonderful and very accommodating staff, beautiful atmosphere and reasonable prices, you can’t beat that when you’re in the mood for ethnic food! I highly recommend to all size groups!”

“The owners at Secret Island have worked really hard since they opened to create a cool place for people to go and spend some fun time at night. They have entertainment every night of the week, for all tastes. From pool tournaments and Karaoke, to DJ, international night and featured quality bands. For sure a big improvement in entertainment from the former owners of PortOcall. Besides, their spot is super interesting. I love the second floor, where you can see the bands without having to deal with the crowds. And the building is legendary, a landmark in the Outer Banks .”

“This place is a hidden gem. We’ve come here each year on our yearly trip to the Outer Banks since 2015. Great food, easily equal to or better than many of the restaurants in Raleigh or Durham (both of which have a pretty high bar for foodies). This place does a great job of keeping their offerings fresh, but not patronizingly trendy like some of the other OBX restaurants on the main drag. Lots of vegetarian options round out a thoughtful and balanced menu with many choices. We plan to continue eating here for years to come!”

“Had an excellent stay here June 2019. First of all, the location is fantastic - walk out of your room, down the stairs and you are on the beach! Various attractions, restaurants, shopping, etc. are a short drive away. Our room, (like most of the rooms it seems) had a balcony overlooking the beach. It was very fun to watch dolphins, birds and ships pass by. I brought binoculars for star-gazing, but had more fun watching the pelicans dive for fish! There was a minor mix-up with our room cleaning. We tried to communicate to the cleaning staff that we we going out and it was OK to clean the room, which they apparently interpreted to mean that we should NOT clean the room. When we brought this problem to the attention of the front desk staff they were extremely attentive to resolving the issue right away and in the end we were very happy with the way they handled it. There was a sudden storm when we were there that took out the power, and they were remarkably efficient at getting that fixed as well, (much better than many neighboring properties as far as I could see.) The only thing keeping me from 5 stars is that the place could use a little better cleaning/maintenance.”

“Just say, finding this place is a must for breakfast! Before leaving the area to head back home, we stopped off to enjoy one final meal and we are so glad we did. It doesn’t quite look like a place that would have such an extensive menu but it does and all that we got was delicious! Our waitress was delightful, friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu and fan favorites. Our meals were not just delicious but very filling and not expensive at all! We’re just sorry we didn’t go earlier in our stay to eat dinner.”
