“Yes I just drove an hour for a cheeseburger... Totally worth it. The staff is friendly and quick. Burgers and fries come out hot and fixes were correct. Make your own soda machine was fully stocked. Peanuts by the door while you wait. This location shares a parking lot with another restaurant. Spaces are clearly marked IN FRONT OF FIVE GUYS, that they belong to the store next door. Saw someone park and go into Five Guys... Truck came around. She got to the car before he hooked up. So use the marked spots.”

“JK's has character that you won't find in any chain steak restaurant. Great service and great food! Hostess was extremely pleasant and we didn't mind the wait on a busy night. She kept our group informed about being seated. The waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and made suggestions. She made sure we had everything we needed and was friendly without being too much. Excellent server! The owner visited the table and made sure everything was what we expected. Not my first visit but this visit was worth a great review! Food was absolutely amazing!!”

“Fun place to get food after being on the beach all afternoon. Loved the shark attack drink for the 9 yr old. Great kids menu, at least for us. Disappointed at the size of the crab cake but the taste was WONDERFUL! Appetizers were fried green tomatoes and bacon wrapped BBQ shrimp with a large slice of grits cake. Let me tell you how incredible the grits cake is!!! Grits and cheese at it's finest!!! As usual, market price for the crab and catch of the day which wasn't too bad. Roughly $85 for 3 adults and 1 child then $15 specialty drinks for the 16 and 9 yr old and coffee and soda for the other 2. Great waitress!!!”

“Just discovered this place. It is awesome! Found all kinds of cool items for a really different and festive holiday dinner. The staff was awesome in helping us put together items and understand the best way to handle/process certain produce. Our daughter is learning Spanish so we are trying to shop more in Hispanic and international markets so she will have more exposure to the language and will use it actively. The staff spoke to her in Spanish and helped her shop using some of her new vocabulary.”

“We happen to find this place for breakfast on our first day of beach vacation. Prices reasonable and the man behind the counter (Toby) was very nice on this early morning! Also the food is out of this world! I have no clue what the recipe is for their biscuits and gravy but the biscuits were fluffy and the gravy is hearty with a small hint of sweet. We will definitely be back :) Vibe is relaxed and you can tell everything is home cooked with some love.”

We sat in the bar area at a booth, while the food was just alright, the service left much to be desired. we had to ask twice for silverware and I believe it was on the third request that we finally received the condiments that we wanted for our meal. After finishing our meal, we went outside. The outside area was much better. We went to the bar to get our own drinks, which were great, there was a band playing and games to play. With so many other places in the area, I don't think we will go back.”

“From the outside this wonderful Thai restaurant doesn’t look like much, it’s heavenly on the inside! I recommend the booths in the back, where one gets a cozy private meal surrounded by pillows & beautiful art! Both times we went, the staff was warm, welcoming, and wasn’t rushing us! The appetizers and soups were wonderful (we managed to try 6), they even made a special cucumber salad for us without hesitation! My friend ate Chinese dishes that were all sweet & sour, loved them - too boring for me however! Shrimp & noodle dish for me with cilantro and lime, heat level 8 - the first night. Second they made me a special fruit curry with shrimp and my pick of vegetables! Dessert, the deep fried bananas dipped in honey - I just couldn’t resist! Both my guest and I left full and happy! For such excellent food, the prices were very reasonable! Great food, wonderful and very accommodating staff, beautiful atmosphere and reasonable prices, you can’t beat that when you’re in the mood for ethnic food! I highly recommend to all size groups!”

“The owners at Secret Island have worked really hard since they opened to create a cool place for people to go and spend some fun time at night. They have entertainment every night of the week, for all tastes. From pool tournaments and Karaoke, to DJ, international night and featured quality bands. For sure a big improvement in entertainment from the former owners of PortOcall. Besides, their spot is super interesting. I love the second floor, where you can see the bands without having to deal with the crowds. And the building is legendary, a landmark in the Outer Banks .”

“This place is a hidden gem. We’ve come here each year on our yearly trip to the Outer Banks since 2015. Great food, easily equal to or better than many of the restaurants in Raleigh or Durham (both of which have a pretty high bar for foodies). This place does a great job of keeping their offerings fresh, but not patronizingly trendy like some of the other OBX restaurants on the main drag. Lots of vegetarian options round out a thoughtful and balanced menu with many choices. We plan to continue eating here for years to come!”
