“Awesome friendly Starbucks located at the West end of the Marketplace shopping mall. The staff has always been friendly when I stopped by. They are fast, friendly and efficient. You can spot this Starbucks from 158. There is limited parking in front of the Starbucks, but there are a lot more parking spaces around the corner. They accept Apple Pay and Google Pay.”

“This restaurant and market were a wonderful surprise! It was the best place we ate during our vacation. Their food was fresh, healthy and well prepared. The staff is also excellent. Our favorite was the salmon toast. Also the fresh veggies and hummus yum. Craft draft beer, 16 choices of wine by the glass out of self serve machines, and a full bar. Live music at night. Even an outdoor garden with two beach chairs.”

“Fast and prompt, pizza was delicious. Crusts were a little tough for me but that’s a personal preference. As a pizza guy myself I don’t like over worked or new dough, 48 hours is the best and a little salt. This will definitely be a return from our family.”

“One word... AMAZING. We had the Outer Banks Boil Company come out to feed 21 hungry members of a family reunion and they not only met but BLEW AWAY expectations. Food was delicious and the service was fantastic (and funny!). Everyone couldn't stop talking about how good it was for the rest of the week. “Okay, you have to try the Dolphin Boat...the absolute best fish and chips on the beach! AND, the peanut butter milkshake...Oh My Gosh! If you can find a parking spot that is! Place is over-run by tourists and locals alike. Parking is a serious issue! But, if you can squeeeeze in, well worth the visit. They have other foods like burgers and hot dogs too. Love this place, wish they were open in the off-season!”

“The food and service is top notch! It might seem like just another seasonal so-so restaurant, it definitely is not! I’m a very picky eater and when I mentioned to the waitress that I couldn’t eat what came with my special (after she had served it), one of the chefs immediately came to the table & asked me what types of foods I could eat! Within a few minutes he was back and had taken the time to make me a very special plate! The Salmon (with an amazing glaze & sauce) melted in my mouth, I have never had better! My new sides were just perfect, he had certainly impressed this restaurant critic! The restaurant was overwhelmingly busy, yet he took the time to make this customer feel very special! Another outstanding food experience that I would make it a point to go to again and again. Don’t let the crowd outside fool you, we waited all of 5 minutes to be seated! Enjoy!”

“Stopped in to get a pizza and, observed the workers in the back eating pizza around the area at which food was being prepared. Although, I understand that they to get hungry, they should have a designated area to do so. The customer service was a far cry from where it should have been as, there were several infractions that need to be addressed by manager. The young lady at the resister was polite and, she did pretty good but, the others, eating, standing around removing their caps, and putting them back but, not before they ran their fingers through their hair than, served customers their orders, not to appetizing. The atmosphere in general was not pleasant and, with that being said, I have to many options while on vacation to have to choose to return. I will say tho, the pizza was good but, I will spend my money else where! Thanks!”

“My wife and I were just in town for the week and we stumbled on this nice little place. Prices were good for quality seafood. We ended up splitting a few of there items to try more and it was fantastic. Blue Crab Nachos for the win! As a side note, the building was stuffed full of people and there was a wait. The wait went quick because the ladies were crazy efficient!”

“my wife and i are down from Upstate NY. I read reviews about the Blacken Pelican and we decided to try it we arrived about 6pm and was seated at our table right away. we placed our order and in a short time we had it. the waitress was friendly and quick. the meals came out piping hot. it was all very good. the only side i did not like was the red potatoes that came with my dish. I would highly recommend it. we out the door with full bellies by 7 pm”

“We went for a later lunch. The service was great, the food was fabulous and the drinks wonderful! My husband and I had the crab cake sandwiches, and our kids had the scallops. “I've been eating at this restaurant for over 20 years. I'm pretty sure that the ownership has changed recently. This used to be some of the best Mexican food around. At this point, I would say that it is slightly above-average. There are better Mexican food choices locally. Tonight during normal dinner hour they had a DJ playing music and making commentary that made conversation at the table difficult. I am not sure of the direction my old favorite restaurant is taking but I am obviously not their target demographic any longer. Thanks for the memories La Fogata.”

“Definitely try to go during Happy Hour from 230-530 to get deals in the sushi. I started with the Seafood Carpaccio which was fair. The sashimi cuts were very small and the "special sauce" was more like soy and sesame oil mix. Kind of bland compared with a ceviche and amount of fish was disappointing. We then ordered a bunch of maki and sushi from the happy hour and all of it was good. Kids ordered shrimp fried rice and vegetable lo mein and neither were very good. The rice was dried out and shrimp over cooked and the lo mein oily and bland. Also had pad thai which also was fair,kind of bland and too oily. Drinks are good and waitstaff very attentive and efficient! Worth the stop for sushi Happy Hour for sure!!”

“If you like beer and like to watch sports on many TVs - this is your place. If you are used to mediocre food - this is your place. Me? With party of 4 on Saturday late afternoon- I went w grilled chicken on a bun and fries... Sandwich was ok (you know, iceberg lettuce, piece of onion and a slice of tomato of a white hamburger bun) - fries looked amazing but they were barely warm. Who eats soggy Luke warm fries??? - I did not. Others in party ordered seafood - which appeared to be generous in the portions - but all were left w “just not that good”. I had a couple of my wife’s fried shrimp (still a bit hungry after the soggy fries that I passed up) - and the fried shrimp’s “fried” batter was soggy. Just not my night. Our waitress was very friendly and she did take care of us. So - food? 1 star. Service - pretty good. And if you are careful about what you order and enjoy drinking beer at the bar and watching NC almost beat Clemson on one of the many large TVs - then probably a 5 star. Thus - my rating of 3 stars... I do not write many Google reviews - but I have several - not beating on this place - I was just surprised at the high marks from others regarding the food - and felt the need to interject a bit of caution regarding expectations...”

“The absolute best crab legs. Prepared perfectly (steamed not boiled) and plentiful. My husband enjoys many of the items on the buffet, while I focus on the King crab legs and a few snow crab legs. This is a must visit each time we are in the area (few times a year). HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Be prepared for a wait before you are seated. This is a very popular and busy place. It is also loud and crowded inside but the food (CRAB LEGS!!!) make it worth it all. We normally spend $100-120 for 2 adults and 5 year old for the buffet, 2 sodas and 1 water.”

“We loved this restaurant and will definitely be back! We'd seen many ads, but didn't think much of them. BUT then we read the reviews, and we were convinced. After waiting a short bit to be seated, we found ourselves near many other families. We had a nice comfortable booth with a great server (wish we remembered his name). The menu was reasonable, and they had some of the best guacamole we've ever had. We loved the vibe of the place also. So food + great server + fun vibe = great place! Thanks, Bad Bean! We'll be back!”
