I'm always hesitant to order fried shrimp but these were very lightly breaded and paired perfectly with the slaw on the sandwich. The grits were delicious as well. “Our first visit was shortly after they opened. Understandably, the staff was a bit overwhelmed as the place was packed. Even under stress, the staff was very kind and helpful. All of the dishes we ordered were not merely adequate, they were excellent. We returned a few days ago. This is such a friendly restaurant! Wonderful staff. We have had the green curry, the massaman curry, drunken noodles, and several other vegetarian dishes. Delicious!”

“I have been to Spike's several times to dine-in, and have gotten pick-up orders from there an absolutely shameful amount of times. When I first discovered it, I was eating their chicken 2-3 times a week because it is absolutely killer. The seasoning is top-notch, spicy and flavorful, the chicken is fried very well, and the hot dogs and side options are varied, creative, and flawlessly executed. Beyond the food, the service is also excellent, with all of the staff I've interacted with being very friendly and attentive people who also cultivate an atmosphere of laid-back and pleasant dining. I went twice yesterday and was very well taken-care-of by my server (for both lunch and dinner), Zach. Even when there was a mix-up with my lunch order, Zach, the management, and the folks in the kitchen took care of it with speed and aplomb in the middle of a busy lunch hour, which I greatly appreciated and which led me to return for dinner to express that gratitude. I really cannot recommend Spike's highly enough. If you're in the mood for delicious food, friendly people, and the fantastic daily specials they offer that I haven't even bubbled over in this review, please check them out!”

There are drink specials most evenings and activity nights such as music bingo, and trivia. There are also 30, estimate, TVs in the restaurant including the outdoor seating. I enjoy this place for the calm nature on regular nights, and a spirited atmosphere during game days.”

“Great service and good food! I was in for a meal before a show across the street and had some time to kill. Esther took good care of me! Seemed like she turned up right when I was ready for the next thing. I started with the beer cheese soup, which was delicious. It came with bread, which was the perfect texture for the soup. I had a chopped salad for dinner with pulled pork added. That had lots of flavors going on. Finished things off with an excellent Scottish porter that had hints of chocolate and caramel and was very smooth. Really good meal here, so stop in if you want good service and a great selection of beers, especially if you like Belgians (wide variety of those, but also a good mix of other styles as well).”

“They delivered us a pizza that was burnt on the bottom. I could barely eat it and had to eat around the burnt crust. It just had a burnt taste to it. When I called to I form them, they offered to re-make the pizza or send a coupon. I ordered it to enjoy with some friends and I did not want to wait another 45 minutes for a new pizza so I took the coupon. That act bumped them up to 3 stars otherwise it would have been 1. Where was the quality control?”

“Great bartender and service. Really nice vibe. Low lighting, several cozy spots to spread out with a group. I have to say the music seemed hilariously out of place, bounced around in off par alternative rock stratosphere. Not to disparage the place at all. It was just odd enough to be noticeable. Went on a Wednesday where the half priced bottles of wine deal lives. Our server was diligent with keeping the table supplied with water, which was much appreciated. Will definitely be back because I hear the food is also excellent!”
