“Really awesome food and service. It was off the hook 🪝 we had the chowder, calamari, coconut shrimp, and crab cakes - all were delicious. My friends enjoyed the drinks too. We will definitely be back !”

“This cafe is fabulous!!! My husband and I eat here every weekend...it has become our favorite in Newport! Come hungry, because after your meal you are going to want to order dessert!!!! If you feel to full, be sure to take a pastry or slice of cake with you for later. Eggs Benedict is a favorite, along with the steak sandwich, and the Monte Cristo is out of this world delicious!!! Large portions are served so you never leave hungry. Quaint charm for this French cafe, with staff welcoming as you dine. Please visit this wonderful place often so we can keep this treasure in Newport open!”

“Service was super friendly and the staff couldn't have been any nicer. They allowed us to have our pup as well. I had some delicious peach crepes 🔥 and my husband got the French toast with marionberry compote. Loved the way the French toast was served, smaller bites and super yummy. Will definitely head back to this spot. Great option for an earlier breakfast.”

“This place was a dance on my taste buds. My friends and I were staying at the Sylvia Beach Hotel and got reservations for the Table of Content (the restaurant at the hotel)....we were so thankful we did! Each night is a different meal....I know because we stayed an extra night at the hotel to eat the four course meal for the additional night. I had the chicken the first night and the duck the second night. They were both delicious!! Just go....the cost is great for the four course meal, the meals are beyond amazing, the staff is friendly and fun, and it is an experience that can be wonderful single or with a group!!! Oh, and did I mention it looks out to the ocean....bonus!!! You're robbing yourself of the joy of dining if you don't check it out. Dinner starts at 6pm, so make your reservation now. 😉”

“Top notch apmosphere. Wonderful staff that make you feel welcome. The gal said she just started the day we were there and she rocked it. Her mentor gets credit too for being AMAZING while training and still being an awesome team player. We ordered the pretzel and 2 ciders and 2 beers. All drinks were great and food was delicious. Love the service we received. Will definitely be back each time we visit Newport.”

“A fabulous place - great for readers and artists, with a wonderful chef for both their breakfasts and four course dinners. I love that there are books everywhere and hot spiced wine at 8:30 nightly next to a fire in the library. I particularly love the "no televisions, leave your iPhone and gadgets behind" concept behind the place. It is by far my favorite place on the coast and I would not think of staying anywhere else now that I've visited. A great place to TRULY get away, get hypnotized by the Pacific, and enjoy quiet reflection and contemplation. Curl up on the sofa or a big cushy chair and enjoy your favorite author with a cup of coffee and soak in the silence, of which there seems precious little these days.”

“We had one of their tea services for lunch. Very tasty and a great view. We liked it so much we stopped in the next morning to get some savory pastries (ham and gouda, I think. they were delicious) and scones for our trip home. We visit Newport a few times a year and will be coming back.”

“Fabulous place, highly recommended. My husband said our meal here was “killer”. We had local black cod that was cooked in wine with butter and herbs - melt in your mouth delicious! The server, who was super helpful and responsive, recommended getting the cod with mashed potatoes because they are so good. She was right! I make delicious mashed potatoes myself but I’ve never had them taste so buttery and creamy, better than mine! Accompanied by fresh roasted veggies and a glass of wine, nothing better! Lovely casual atmosphere, we’ll definitely be back.”

“Great service, friendly and attentive. Chowder is very good, plenty of clams and a silky base. Fried oysters were delicious. We sat on the patio and our heater was out, that is the reason for 4 out of 5. Our server was awesome, she tried to address it, but all the tanks were empty. She was so personable, efficient and really put our experience over the top. Highly recommend this spot.”

“We had the Vegan bagel, the hipster bagel and the vegan breakfast sandwich with just egg...I have to tell you that I was so impressed that I went up to the owner to thank him! Great spot, wonderful staff and my son and his wife LOVED the non vegan menu as well. Free house coffee was very good too”

“Sweet and welcoming owners. The best coffee cake I’ve ever had. How can anything be that light, fluffy and delicious?!? It’s hard to describe the atmosphere and aesthetic. Funky, vintage, elegant, regal, cozy. Just stop reading and pay them a visit. Yes, the seats scattered throughout are for sitting (I think?! Lol). Very memorable trip to Nye Beach. Thank you for a memorable experience.”

“Prompt service. Varied and good selection of local Oregon craft beers and cocktails. I got the Pacific cod sandwich and my date got the Taphouse Burger which are both served on delectable brioche buns. The fish was battered to perfection and the high desert beef was legitimately buttery. Would recommend the shoe string garlic fries over their seafood stew as a side.”

“Really a pleasure to enjoy the Crab Cake breakfast special today. Lots of crab! No filler but maybe an egg to hold them together. Everything on the plate was perfect: scrambled eggs, hash browns, sourdough toast, tartar and jam. This is a small operation but really deserving of our support. UPDATE: it’s been a year but today we had the amazing Baked French toast with a middle layer of pecans, topped with a Marionberry compote. Wife ate a Southwest plate with Black and Pinto whole beans, Spanish rice and greens with Avocado and tortillas. This is also a winner and Cafe Nye is Better than ever! Service was great! Five stars again”

“STOP IN HERE. It will not disappoint.....🍷🍽️ Staff are wonderful, friendly, unicorns at there job. Food was phenomenal, sandwiches are huge, dinner entrees very tasty and nice portions. We are all east coasters (14 of us) who came out for a family memorial. Let's just say they had there hands full with our Irish family 😜. They all had smiles on there faces even when running around, interacted with clientele, made you feel welcomed. Thank you, thank you, thank you”

“Reliably-tasty, family-friendly comfort food at reasonable prices, with excellent service. It's not easy for any restaurant to check all those boxes in a major metropolitan area (read: comfy suburb). To do so on the Oregon coast, even in the off season?? Crazy good”

“Friendly staff. Spotless room and the best view of the coast in any Newport hotel. The pool was magnificent! Other amenities include vending machines, ice dispensers, local tourism information and a modern and convenient laundry room if you're in town for an extended stay. Five Stars for Shilo in Newport!”

“This is a very nice restaurant! It has a very intimate vibe, perfect for a date night. We dined during the late evening so we couldn't enjoy the views but they do have very nice views. The service is great! Kelli is a very lovely lady and if you're lucky enough to get seated at her table, you'll have excellent service! We were only there for drinks, which were really good, so I cant give a review of their food.”

“We took a chance on this restaurant because there seemed to be a lot of cars parked around it for a Sunday afternoon. We ordered the special seafood pot and special spicy beef over steam noodles. We had low expectations and were surprised to receive a pot of seafood, fish, shrimp, clams and oysters each cooked to perfection. The dish also contained mussels which in my experience are never particularly good. We ordered medium heat and needed to add chili oil. The beef fish was tasty but not spectacular. We ordered it hot and needed to add chili oil. It was surprisingly interesting and satisfying. Both dishes had a good tingle from the Szechuan flower peppers. All on all we had a very tasty, well prepared meal at a reasonable price. Give them a try.”

“Delicious fresh seafood steamer restaurant. No fried food here! The cioppino is delicious, as is their steamer clams. Fresh pulled dungeness crab when in season. Fantastic team runs this gem. Go and enjoy. You won't be sorry!”
