“Went and had lunch with a friend today. Ordered the chili burger and when asked how I wanted my burger, I responded with something akin to "As close to mooing as you're allowed to serve it to me." The waitress was lovely and told me that she could do that with a burger because they grind their own meat. Let me tell you. That thing was still cold inside (like my heart). For me, it was the absolute perfection of what I asked for. The Texas egg rolls are weird, but delicious. Blackberry Blues iced tea, refreshing (and in big mason jars to boot!). The waitress was friendly and kept an eye on us without being intrusive. All in all, a great outing and now I have leftovers and I couldn't be happier.”

“This was our first visit and it was quite good. I'm glad that there was a child protection waiver to sign letting you know these people really take their business seriously. My son loved the time we spent here today. We left with him making several new friends and reconnecting with some from clubhouse adventures, a former indoor park that he loved. While he played I was able to purchase a hot beverage, catch the end of the Seahawks game, and chat with a few familiar faces. All and all this place has a great atmosphere.”

“McGrath’s Fish House is my favorite seafood restaurant. The menu is a very large range of scrumptious meals to choose from. And, their clam chowder is absolutely delicious. They also have a great seafood chowder. This is definitely a seafood restaurant, but there is also plenty of meals on the menu that are not. The atmosphere has a very nice ambiance and the seating is comfortable. You can order and eat your meals in the bar/lounge if you like. They are a very popular place and often times you may have to wait in the foyer to be seated at a table, but they are very quick and the wait is not long. The wait staff is very friendly and the food cost is very reasonable considering the large portions of food and the quality. I highly recommend that you give this restaurant a try.”

“Food was solid across-the-board. Nothing crazy, it is just teriyaki stuff but all good, and definitely seemed to have a slightly higher quality then most comparable restaurants. Staff were super nice and constantly checked on us, this pushed up the rating. Felt comfortable and well taken care of. We were there after close and they were not rushing us at all. “My new favorite sushi stop in Salem. The hibachi is lots of fun, but even the sushi bar is a great stop. The dishes are excellent, always fresh and delicious. - Update 01/26/2020 - Nagoya Saves the Night! The night started off at an entirely different Japanese restaurant, where we had already spent 80 minutes, mostly waiting... well, I won't get into that all here. It was not a good experience and left us hungry, frustrated and searching for a meal. Then we step in Nagoya. Greeted immediately. Seated just as swiftly. Our server was very polite and made us feel welcome. We were having drinks, eating a delicious meal, smiling and chatting; all within 20 minutes. I'm done experimenting. Nagoya is my absolute top of the list, go-to, no shenanigans, delicious food and friendly staff, sushi and hibachi stop for Salem, Oregon.”

“Great diner in downtown Salem. Lots of sandwich selections plus daily specials. My companion ordered the Super Meatloaf sandwich. I have the daily special which was an open face hot turkey sandwich. “Well-priced, quick, and consistently good. Was recommended to finally try sushi for the very 1st time here, and now I crave it often. Always nice for a lunch or an easy, fun take-out experience to share with someone. We usually go with the Vegas, California, dynamite, or dragon rolls along with some spring rolls. It's a nice little variety, and even when venturing into trying new dishes, I've always enjoyed their food. Leftovers are super simple as well if there are any. The staff is very friendly, and if you're eating there, the dining area is very unique! It's up a floor in the Reed Opera House, and the whole middle of the dining room is open to see the shops the floor below, with tables set along the outer edges. Generally you're seated right at the windows, so you can also do some sightseeing outside while you eat. The architecture's interesting and there's a big stained glass window to check out.”

“Got to say I do not usually give full stars to fast food. This place was staffed with an amazing worker. We had a large group and she handled all our orders like a champ. Everything was done made correctly, charged correctly, and she did it with a smile. She was by herself when we first started ordering. Another employee came in, but was not understanding what she asked him to do so she continued on with a smile helping us and others. He eventually got into the groove, but couldn't compete with her. “This place is so cool and charming! Art deco design, even in the unisex bathroom. Love the feel of the place. Reminds me of a bar you'd find nestled in a big city. The women working the bar and serving were super friendly, engaging, and genuine. The best thing I've eaten in a while we're their truffle fries with garlic aoili. Could eat that every day of my life. Had the mac and cheese which was creamy and cheesy but heads up because it has the smokey flavor. 10/10 would go here again.”

“Even though the staff left a bit to be desired (slow to take order, didn't ask what type of soup we wanted -- had to find them to tell them, and then got one of our Kitchen Special's wrong), the food is extremely fresh, excellently sauced and seasoned and impeccably presented. This is some of the freshest sushi we have had in a loooong time. All of the Rolls are expertly made and plentiful for the price. They have a great variety and really know how to combine flavors. The Kitchen Specials were superbly crafted -- the orange tofu was not overpoweringly sweet and the tofu was nice and crispy, even with the orange sauce on it. Just can't say enough about the freshness and flavors. Don't let the decor turn you away (it is a bit old) -- the food is amazing! Salem is lucky to have this little gem hiding in the downtown core.”
