“Great little mom and pop hole in the wall. The biscuits and gravy are amazing. Adorable, great service, very welcoming. The portions are great for the prices. Definitely give this place a try.”

“This quaint, rustic diner-esque establishment rests right off of Main Street and nestles perfectly into the bustling downtown scene. The couple who own and operate the restaurant, David and Teresa, provide top-notch, hospitable, countryside service and the absolute best breakfast in the greater Rapid City area. The restaurant is open Tuesday through Saturday from 7 a.m to 11 a.m. There is a small gift shop area reminiscent of a Cracker Barrel and old-fashioned antique shop combined to further bolster the nostalgia and hometown feel factors. The food is seasoned perfectly, the dishes are very simple, yet pop with flavor and appeal, and the atmosphere could not be more welcoming. Many options are available for the kids, from French toast sticks to oatmeal and several others to round out the family-friendly dining experience. I highly recommend the Mud Bog, Mud Benedict, All Meat Omelet, biscuits & gravy and 2 egg breakfast. This is one of those rare small restaurants that leave you feeling phenomenal, fulfilled, and like part of the family. Such a treasure to stumble upon and one that instantly becomes a major player on the consumer food map. So, if you are looking for the best breakfast that Rapid City has to offer at a more than fair price, then you need not look beyond The Mud Hole of the Black Hills.”

“Little hometown breakfast Cafe with great home-cooked food and the staff is amazing. I'm not part of the clean your plate club, as my husband says, but my plate was cleaned and every bit wiped clean with my last piece of toast. Country fried steak is hand cut and breaded, the biscuits are light and fluffy, and the gravy is very good even though it doesn't have sausage. My husband got an everything omelet which was really good. Got the caramel roll to go for later so can't comment on it yet, except for it's huge! Oh and they have beer and mimosas!”

“I like this location because it's close to my house and the employees are very prompt and friendly. I have nothing but praise for the service. That being said, the drive thru/parking lot is the worst that I've ever been through. The lot is about half the size that it should be for the volume of traffic that goes through it at any given day (most times the line is out into the street) and the drive thru itself is important narrow for anybody in a pickup.”

“I LOVE fresh roast coffee ☕️. The franchise has been around 25 years. This will be my first time trying this awesome brew. I highly recommend this place.”

“No matter the location, no matter the time of year, Scooter's always comes through in such a big way. The Carmelicious is my favorite drink and it seems to get better with each one that I order. The staff is always courteous, attentive, and vivacious. The energy exemplified by the staff matches that of the punch that the coffee delivers. Though they tend to be a bit more expensive than much of the competition, the quality of the products offered are well worth the elevated prices. Not only does the coffee make each experience enjoyable, the staff truly round out the overall atmosphere and enjoyment factor.”

“Best option for coffee and pastries along this route for a long way! Inside the gas station but don’t let that put you off. My cappuccino was pretty good and the kids enjoyed their hot chocolates. Scones are not too bad, nothing to write home about but hit the spot. Very grateful to find some nice-tasting espresso!”

“Chill modern bavarian-style cafe and breakfast spot. Order at the counter or kiosk and seat yourself in one of their uniquely decorated spaces. Good portions and options without being greasy. Would recommend to any visitor. The only downside is only breakfast time hours.”

“Exceptionally well kept cafe with plenty of space. The service is extremely friendly and the breakfast is hard to beat. The breakfast burrito is almost a must, and you should definitely order it with green chili. This is then so apetit stimulating that you can manage the large portion without problems. And also the coffee can stand up to high European standards. Simply fantastic.”

“the mine went further back than we thought. fun experience the kids enjoyed it. they have an old mining cart that you can sit in for photos inside the mine. tour guide gave great facts about the mine the entire tour. if someone needs to have a wheelchair it's easy to push through the mine as well.”

“On a trip of 10 days to several states, many towns, and a few cities, this was my favorite burger and fries. And ice cream. Take time to appreciate the setting from scenes in North by Northwest. It puts you right there. The food options here are plentiful and fresh. I had no problems needing gluten free. Don't pass up on dessert. The ice cream is so good. We got the vanilla (original recipe brought over from France by Thomas Jefferson). It's so buttery! Servings aren't stingy so you may want to consider sharing.”

“We came for an early lunch after a morning in the Badlands. The staff are super friendly and despite being fairly busy, everything came out very quickly. The loaded oles are a must for anyone who loves potatoes and nachos. We all got different cuts of beef: the cowboy, the rib eye, the t-bone, and the NY strip. All were cooked perfectly. We also each got a different side so we could taste everything. The mashed potatoes with brown gravy was heavenly. The french fries and tater totes were honestly also really delicious. I'm a huge supporter of local businesses and was happy to find such a little gem here. Definitely recommend stopping here if you're in the area.”

“It was amazing, food wasn't anything complicated but it was mouth wateringly delicious 😋 Me and my dad had the stew and by gosh it was perfect and warmed us right up, mom got the Indian taco thing which was good too! The Indian bread was phenomenal too, light sweetish without being distracting, and had some amazing texture to it, had to order some for desert too! This is all without even mentioning the view that we where able to see of Crazy Horse, and the environment inside was very warm, and authentic.”

“This is a simple cafe in a small town, so this isn't terribly fancy. I enjoyed it, but it's a little overpriced for the food you get. Given the limited options locally, that's probably not unexpected. It does have at of "small town charm" and "local color", so I recommend it largely on that basis. They had a couple daily specials, but of the food was what I would expect in a small town cafe such as this. French fries, tater tots, a variety of sandwiches / burgers, as well as chicken dishes such as hot wings. (Descriptions indicate to me that they may go rather spicy.) Servings were okay (not overly generous), except for a side salad that was a bit small and simple for the price. Service is to order from a window and then the food is brought out to you. The staff wasn't terribly attentive, but they did check on us once while eating.”

“This fantastic lil drive thru makes the best burritos! I swung by mid-morning and had to wait a while since I was fourth in line, but I'll tell ya it was worth it! My meal consisted 16 oz Dirty Chai Latte ($5.50), a Wild West breakfast burrito (sausage, egg, hash brown, caramelized onions, bell peppers, shredded jack cheese on a flour tortilla, $6.00) and a piece of Coffee Cake ($3.50). The burrito was phenomenal! It was huge and generously stuffed with the goods. They used a hash brown patty instead of loose shreds and I absolutely loved it. I didn't even need any hot sauce like I nearly always want on my breakfast burritos. It was SO DAMN GOOD. I'm astonished it was only $6.00. The Dirty Chai was perfectly made! Just the right amount of sweetness and richness. The Coffee Cake was alright. I thought it kind of tasted greasy, however it was super moist which was great. I wish I had the opportunity to stop by here a second time. The menu is enormous and everything sounded so delish! Will drop by again if I'm ever in the area.”

“Been looking for a TRULY GREAT burger since we moved to the Black Hills ten years ago and finally found it at Burger and Bun! Everything we ordered was delicious and had layers of flavor. You can tell every offering on the menu was created with love, care and attention to detail. Thank you to the owners and staff for making our experience one to look forward to again.”

“Wanna go where everybody knows your name and they’re always glad you came? Mornin’ Sunshine Coffee House is your place then! (They know no strangers) We were promptly and warmly welcomed in with a smile as bright as the sun. ☀️ The food was delish! I added chicken to my veggie pesto panini and it was (chef’s kiss). The grilled chicken Caesar salad was fresh and crisp 😃 My daughter had the French toast and LOVED it! Amazingly beautiful building with gorgeous detailing on the walls and ceiling. (Was it an old malt shop many years ago?) Cute little tables and chairs encourage great conversations. Perfect place to stop in for a coffee, a bite, or just to sit for a bit. Until you’re ready to stroll down beautiful Hot Springs again, that is!”

“The hours keep moving around that they're open. The food was okay. The coffee was above average but the atmosphere is very cool. We stopped a few weeks ago because the web site said open. Hours on the door said should be open, but not open. This morning, the sign on the door is gone, but sign inside. Make sure all the signs agree, on the door, inside, and on the web site.”
