Bakery Cafe Restaurant

“This is the closest place I have encountered in Houston that is similar to classic bagels in the Northeast. They even have a proper full shmear -- bagel, cream cheese, lox, tomato slice, purple onion, capers. And the ingredients are delicious. They are especially generous with lox, something uncommon here or in the Northeast.”

Common Bond On the Go

Address: 601 Heights Blvd, Houston, TX 77007, USA

Bakery Cafe Restaurant

“Bakery: Common Bond is a local bakery chain that makes Eurocentric and American baked goods. My personal favorites are their macaroons, their mocha mascarpone, and their chocolate croissant. They are best known for their colorful branding and busy brunch line. The workers are polite, knowledgeable, and patient with their customers. Prices are $$ it’s not cheap but it’s also not expensive. Environment: cute to-go shop with a small waiting area and about 4 sit down tables. Pastries are displayed in glass case much like other locations. They have a cute baked goods mural on the back wall. Pros: quick, close to where I live, had a large selection, everything is fresh and tasty Cons: a bit noisy with the register so close to the back of the house, they are getting used to the new quick service format, tables make it cramped, the other patrons can be exhausting General feedback from the opening: -May need alternative way to process to go orders during rushes - 4 tables chosen for inside restaurant seems space inefficient and crowded (high tops or space saving choices would be better) -the cashier area is very noisy and it’s hard for the cashier and patron to speak especially with the splash guards and masks -needs clearly defined pick up/waiting area -having a sample size for beverages displayed would be helpful -footprints on the floor for 6 foot covid19 distancing are a foot away from eachother (because the line snakes around) -heights patrons are the worst. Today while getting my order the other patrons were insufferable: one lady lectured the cashier for 5-6 minutes after her order was in her hands on the proper sequence to put her breads in the bag ???keep in mind with the masks, plastic guard, and kitchen no one can hear anything. The next patron was upset that her 16 oz coffee was 16 oz ??? but wouldn’t let the manager fix anything. Outside of the store, a pickup truck cut the whole line by forcing his way in through a different entrance. If the owners see this review, give this manager and cashier a bonus or extra something. They were professional, prompt, and friendly DESPITE the behavior of the patrons. That cashier working morning shift on 5/22 is a saint.”

Einstein Bros. Bagels

Address: 923 Bay Area Blvd, Houston, TX 77058, USA

Bakery Cafe Restaurant

“I used to work at a location in Washington quite a few years ago and it's still as delicious as I remember. They don't carry my favorite item any more but the chai tea and turkey on asiago is still amazing. The only thing bad that still hasn't changed since I left my old job was that they still haven't figured out a way to not run out plain bagels two hours after opening. Still worth it though.”

Kolache Factory

Address: 528 Bay Area Blvd #200, Webster, TX 77598, USA

“It's Texas so have to have a kolache!! Huge variety!! Hard to decide! Counter guy was great, wish I would have gotten his name but Sunday morning, 9 am, Aug.11. Very tasty!”

Cold Stone Creamery

Address: 6320 Farm to Market 1960 Rd E, Humble, TX 77346, USA

Bakery

“If you like pricey, creamy ice cream filled with sugary treats, then this is the perfect establishment for you. I'm always a little confused about how much I'm going to pay for the ingredients I'm picking out, but I'm usually coming here for a treat, so I'm not really worried about spending an extra dollar or four. They have a really good no-sugar-added ice cream here that I would recommend to anyone trying to avoid sugar but still get their ice cream hit.”

La Michoacana Meat Market

Bakery Restaurant

“The Corp. store chef (Edgar) was there when I came in, told him exactly what I wanted (extremely customer service oriented) and he made it for, no fuss, no muss. It tasted GREAT !!!”

Dinner Bell Cafeteria

Address: 6525 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023, USA

Bakery Restaurant

“Simple, good food at more than reasonable prices. This is a back to basics cafeteria, the interior probably hasn't changed much since it opened 60+ years ago but appears clean and cared for. My chicken pot pie with sides and roll we're $8. The green beans were excellent with lots of flavor, corn was crisp and sweet. The pie could have used more salt but had lots of vegetables and chicken. Most of the customers were older like me. Service behind the counter was excellent and it was nice to be offered tea refills while I ate. Nice variety of entrees and vegetables, good selection of salads. Attached bakery has cookies, pies, breads, pasties to take home. Areal throw back to another time.”

Tout Suite

Address: 2379, 2001 Commerce St, Houston, TX 77002, USA

Cafe Bakery Restaurant

“I really enjoyed the food and staff. The building and decor were very cool. I would however recommend you bring your own KETCHUP. They have a home made ketchup that’s more like a marinara sauce. Other than that everything was great.”

green seed vegan

Address: 4320 Almeda Rd, Houston, TX 77004, USA

Bakery Restaurant

“Very nice began restaurant. Doesn't look like much outside and is diner style inside. I enjoyed the decorations personally. Food was very good. Chef knows flavour well. Tried three different items, 2 sandwiches with plantains on which were unusual bur good. Plus one burger with fried cauliflower which we loved. Sides were good too. We didn't take desert because the cost of the main meal was quite high. How high is unclear because we didn't know if it was organic or not. If organic the price was fair. Overall though this is a great stop for any vegan.”

Einstein Bros. Bagels

Address: 3407 Montrose Blvd Ste B2, Houston, TX 77006, USA

Bakery Cafe Restaurant

“I like Einstein's and I go often. This isn't exactly the best location. The floors are filthy behind the counter later in the day. The beverage cooler hasn't worked for a few months. The staff is always friendly, but depending on the time there's often only 2 of them and I've had to wait a long time. I have had co-workers ask to come with me and I've honestly told them, "I'll just grab it," so they don't freak out. I did have a disagreement with one manager about whether or not my bottled drink was expired. It was, she said it wasn't, I noted the expired date after I had tasted it and it was flat. She pointed out that that was just the "bottled on date" and then I pointed out the other bottles had dates in the future.... I mean, I keep going, so the food is fine. It's just, it's not the best appearances. I also find there seems to be a lot of staff turnover, I may see someone for a few weeks and then never again. Sometimes parking at this location is miserable and usually a homeless person in front of place, waiting on Starbucks or Einstein's customers.”

“Bagels made your way. Speciality coffee served hot or cold. MDACC/Mid One Campus location.”

Glazed the Doughnut Cafe

Bakery Cafe Meal takeaway Restaurant

“I love a family owned place! This business is putting in the work by being open 24 hours- my goodness!! The employees were so kind and patient even when the customers got rowdy. I am not a huge sweets person, but this donut was fantastic!! Made to order (so you do have to be patient and wait), the dough was still warm and melt in your mouth. The toppings were perfection. I got chocolate frosting, pecans, and caramel. However, I wouldn’t say that I recommend their lattes. But everything else was fantastic”

Maryam's Cafe

Address: 315 W 19th St, Houston, TX 77008, USA

Cafe Bakery Restaurant

“Ordered 2 lattes and a scone which totaled to $24!!! The woman at the counter said it was one of the best lattes in the U.S. after i was surprised at the total. And, no doubt, both the latte and scone were super tasty. I think the scone may have been organic, but I'm not sure. Either way, $6.99 for a latte is steep and I was not expecting that in Houston! Id be hesitant to pay for this even in California. Regardless, the place is cute, and I came in on a day with amazing weather and so i sat outside. Houston does need more cozy cafes like this. I wish the prices could be adjusted a little lower as they are hugely overpriced, then I'd be able to enjoy the cafe and it's drinks more often.”

Dunkin'

“Love it here! The staff if very friendly. We have never had bad service here before. They are always attentive and make sure to get the order right. It is wheel chair accesible. The coffee is made deliciously. If you are looking for a go to location, this is it!! You will not be disappointed at all. Customer service is excellent and food/coffee is even better. LOVE IT. You will not regret coming especially if you have a sweet tooth.”

“Best ice cream I've ever had in Houston, tonight show is definitely my favorite flavor but all of them are great. Wood spoons might bother some like they did with my friends but i loved it. Density of the ice cream and freshness of the flavors were great. Definitely gotta try all of them.”
