My family and I drove down here from Northern Virginia for my birthday. We wanted something quick to eat and Blue door was recommended and we walked in as the kitchen was closing. We were bummed, however Lewis came to the rescue and re-opened the kitchen. His custome service was top notch and a nice welcome from the hustle and bustle of NOVA. It was a limited menu, but anything was better than nothing. We had some of the salads and the FRESHNESS, wow is all I can say. We will come back tomorrow for the full menu with HIGH hopes. Thanks again, Lewis and the chef for making this a memorable birthday.
    UPDATE:
We came back for my birthday dinner. Most places I visit have one reason that I return , however this place has everything. From the food, service, decoration and ambiance. We shared all of our dishes with each other and I did not have one bite that I did not like. It all tasted like it came from my grandmothers garden. And again shout out to Lewis and the team for making it a great birthday. If you are in the area you will regret not blessing your palate with this food.

Had a tasting menu prepared by Chef Andrea for a wedding anniversary party. Unbelievable experience all around. The finest dining and service in a beautiful setting in Flint Hill!

Great find in northern Virginia. The space is charming, very inviting with a beautiful patio/garden, and a homey yet romantic feeling to it. The staff is very helpful and friendly. This was our first time, we had rice balls, lamb shoulder, rye ravioli, summer soup and red wine. What a treat. We’re definitely coming back!

The name of this place should just be "Blue Door Kitchen and some rooms". I both stayed at the Inn and had dinner at the restaurant, and while I'll admit that the food was refined and delicious, the inn experience was very mediocre. Get ready to stay in your own, personal Ikea box. There's not even a front desk to check in or check out guests. It's very clear that the place is chef owned because all of the focus is just on the kitchen. The relatively higher prices for the small portions and the poor excuse for an inn are probably the only things keeping the kitchen afloat.

The food is authentic, fresh and a beautiful experience in every bite. Wine selection is well though out and sprinkled with little gems of not so well known but unique blends. We can't wait to come back in warmer weather and hope our lovely waitress is still there. She completed the meal and the evening with her warm hospitality!!
