“This place far exceeded our expectations! Definitely worth a little drive, that's how good it was. The crab burger is simply amazing! Real crab. The fish and chips were awesome, too. We watched them cook the fresh salmon on the on the grill right in front of us for the salmon sandwich. The food was prepared by chefs, not cooks. Everything was fresh and priced fairly. This food would cost double at a sit down restaurant and you would leave very satisfied. I highly recommend! And I almost forgot, try the garlic fries, too!”

“My friends and I went to Mujiri on a whim and were completely blown away by their service and food. It's a very small restaurant, but thankfully, we were able to find a table when we got there. For $25, you can get the nigiri combo, which includes 7 pieces of nigiri and chef's choice of hosomaki (small sushi rolls). For the 7 pieces of nigiri, either you can go with chef's selection or pick your own 7 pieces of nigiri from the available options without repeting any nigiri. The small sushi rolls were okay, but every piece of nigiri that we got was really good. It was fresh and juicy. Each nigiri had a thick cut of the fish. My personal favorites were- hotate (Hokkaido scallop), kurodai (Black snapper), toro (Spain bluefin fatty tun). My friend also really liked their blue fish. You can also ask them to sear the fish if you like it that way. I also tried their Santa Barbara uni. It was decent (not the best I've had, but thankfully, it wasn't bitter or mushy). The nigiri combo was so good that we ended up ordering more nigiri from their a la carte menu. The service was great, too. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Honestly, this place is a hidden gem. This place beats some of the upscale omakase places where you will shell out a lot of money for mediocre food/sushi. Given how expensive sushi can be, it's understandable to be skeptical of cheap sushi, but don't sleep on this place.”

“First time visiting Tarocco, definitely not the last! Have very fond memories of this space when it used to be Westside Bakery and Cafe, many years ago. Great location, great space, thrilled that Tarocco is here to stay. 🌞 Took a friend for lunch to celebrate her birthday. She really needed to eat somewhere that is aware and acknowledges food sensitivities and allergies, for her it is gluten and alliums(garlic/onions). I called a few days before and happened to get the owner on the phone, who assured me that they can absolutely feed someone with any food intolerances, safely. Everything the minute we walked in, was wonderful. The space is light, bright, airy, and the food is perfect. The staff is engaging, funny, and present for any questions, and suggestions. Food is presented beautifully, vibrant colors, fresh produce, ample portions, the list goes on and on. Normally not a flavored coffee drink fan, but the Cardamom Rose Latte, sooo good!!! Get the Tahini Chocolate Chip Cookie🍪! My friend ordered the Tarocco Rice Bowl, perfect! Also had the soup of the day and avocado toast, sat outside, no rush, no waiting, attentive and caring staff. Very much looking forward to returning soon! 🥳”

“Found this lovely cozy restaurant on a whim. Enjoyed our meal (crab fried rice, yellow curry with chicken, steak salad, mango with sticky rice). Our cheerful waiter was welcoming and we enjoyed chatting with the chef who visited our table to talk about Thai culinary history and finding ingredients in the East Bay. Recommend!”

“Mixed feelings about The Rake at Admiral Maltings. Let's do the positives first. - Great selection of beer - Extremely warm and helpful staff - Nice overall vibe to relax with a few friends and lots of drinks Now for the negatives...well, there was only one negative albeit a rather large one. Their BBQ is awful. Not one single BBQ order was decent. The salads were better than the meat, and the tater tots were decent, but we didn't finish any of the plates we ordered. I would recommend eating somewhere else and then coming here for drinks.”

“Love the idea of this place. Many desserts here that you simply cannot get at other places. The person working while we were there was very nice as well! Our pandan cake was delicious and would definitely have again. (It was a bit sweet though for my liking) They also serve some high quality tea here to go with the desserts and I find that wonderful. This place is a tea party on steroids. Would recommend checking out for fun with friends!”

“This place is great. Just tried it for the first time after watching the eclipse. Their huevos rancheros are up there in the top 3 implementations of the dish that I’ve had. The chicken and waffles were good - you can see in the picture that my dog wanted to share. I think with a little bit of hot sauce it would have been complete. There is a large beautiful outdoor patio there, which is perfect if you have a dog. Highly recommend this place for breakfast.”

“YES! First rate Shawarma in Berkeley. Longing for a place to replace The Halal Guys, on center street, one of my favorite shawarma places despite the fact that it had become more of a fast food joint before it closed, I wandered into epicurious garden as I occasionally do, and saw the sign for Darband. Encouraged by the fact that they were fresh cooking skewers of meat over hot coals, and chopping up fresh vegetables and herbs, I ordered their lamb shawarma wrap, and was blown away. 100% fresh, with a delicious wrap skin, a spicy yogurt sauce, tender and succulent Lamb with just a little bit of char the way I like it, and lettuce and tomato, Garband has a 100% rating in the shawarma game, and I will be coming back for sure. Really well done! It's not common that this neighborhood would have a shawarma spot, I hope the lovers of Middle Eastern food who like to get wraps. And other delicious Middle Eastern food check it out!”

“Enjoyed a fantastic meal at Walnut Tavern in Berkeley, CA. The rack of lamb was cooked to perfection, the Caesar salad was fresh, and the grilled salmon was incredibly flavorful. The holiday cocktails added a festive touch to the evening. The ambiance was welcoming, and the service was excellent. A must-visit for anyone looking for a delightful dining experience in Berkeley!”

“For them being a fairly new place, their food was one of the most flavorful I’ve had from Panda Express! Sometimes it takes a bit for new places to get up to par but this was a nice surprise. The portions were big too. We ordered on door dash and everything was still hot by the time it arrived and even got a free apple pie too. Thanks!”

“A must visit every time I’m in Oakland. Stopped by before a concert at the Fox on a Monday night. There were lots of open seats, love their back patio. They have heaters but it was warm enough without them. We ordered at the bar and our drinks and food were brought to our table. The happy hour (5-7 pm) cocktail was a mezcal spritz ($7), it was the perfect refreshing yet smoky cocktail for a warm night in the bay. I love the menu here, we shared the radishes w/ aioli and added sardines. Love the way the radishes were served with the stems on, we felt like bunnies 🐰. We also shared the melon and prosciutto which is a MUST have. The chili oil on it was perfect. They were out of the carrot cake 😢, but settled for some popcorn and the beer + mezcal coffee shot happy hour drink ($7) for dessert. This space also has books, cards, and crayons to draw on the table cloth. A great spot to check out in Oakland, worth making a trip from the city!”

“Great food and lot of vegan and vegetarian options ! Nothing bad to say. My only gripe is… when you spend $35 for great food, and you’re dinning in, would be nice not to eat in disposable silverware … they charge us $1 to use compostable silverware and dishes … what about using reusable regular dishes and silverware ? Come on… they have to clean dishes for the cooking equipment Definitely kill the vibe / atmosphere and doesn’t look as appetizing Most people order to go anyway so I doubt it would be lot of extra work …”

“Here at the opening reception at "K Banchan Kitchen" today. It is located in La Mancha Plaza. Parking is readily available on site in the plaza. The Korean food here is delicious and absolutely amazing! Great for takeouts and there is a small area for dining in. There are beautiful plants being sold here as well. Well decorated. Great service! Highly recommend. It will be open to the public on Friday, 3/24/23.”

“Don’t let the massive menu scare you, the food here is great and the service is attentive. When you walk into Fuji Summer, you can tell it’s a family business. Kids helping out parents and family working together to help make your dining experience a good one. In the two experiences we’ve had here, we’ve tried nearly 10+ dishes and none of them were disappointing and all incredibly tasty. We’ve ordered from the noodle soups, ramen, curry rice, sushi, and appetizers and all deliver a flavorful, yet comforting experience. Although I hesitate to say it’s 100% authentic, the flavors match our expectation and the quality sometimes exceeds that of Japanese-run establishments. Here’s what we’ve had and what I recommend: Ebi fry curry (add chili!), nabeyaki udon (try with curry too), tempura udon, dynamite roll, okonomiyaki (delicious), and chicken karaage. I can’t personally speak for the ramen, but our table has always enjoyed the meal and left with full stomachs.”

“There's a new restaurant on the island, and it's delicious! If you can't decide between Laotian food or sushi? Why not both right?!? If you never had Laotian food, you're missing out, but don't worry Laos & Sushi Bistro got you, along with some delicious sushi. If you like Thai food, then you will love Laotian food, bc it's very similar but Lao food tends to use more lime and lean on the saltier side. The Mok Pla (Steam catfish) was my favorite dish with sticky rice. The Larb Ped and Nam Kao Tod were so tasty and refreshing with the lettuce wrap. Don't forget to order their delicious sushi, especially the lobster rolls. All the dishes were beautifully plated. Great food and awesome customer service! Check them out when you're in Alameda.”

“So happy with my experience that I had to share. I emailed on Thursday to see if they could accommodate a last-minute request for a vegan cake or cupcakes. Didn’t hear anything by Friday, so I called in the afternoon. I talked to Rebecca the baker, and she made it clear that she wanted to find a way to make it work. We ended up with 18 cupcakes in my desired two different flavors that we picked up when the store opened. They were a hit with both kids and parents, and I thought the prices were quite reasonable. Based on the quality and the fantastic service, I’ll be bringing all my orders here in the future. Thank you!”
