“I’m so happy I discovered K Street!! The corn dogs are SO GOOD and the customer service was amazing. They also have a nice selection of Asian snacks/ramen at great prices. The atmosphere is really cute, too. Forgot to take a picture before I took a bite 😂”

“Definitely just made a regular out of me. The food was delicious and beautiful! The place was open and full of natural lights and plants. Beer and Booch on tap. And amazing vegan soft serve that was surprisingly addictive! Can't wait to try everything on the menu!”

“One of the most delicious, zesty, and vibrant vegan eateries/ restaurant in Oakland, Bay Area - for the culture! Hella-Nuts is Black women owned, conscious, and vibrant! They took me back to the south with the delicious, gourmet style fried green tomatoes (with corn meal). It had a Bay Area gourmet twist with truffle sauce that was amazing - garlicy-zesty-tangy, on top of the fried green tomatoes with lionsmane! I also loved the “I can’t believe it’s no flesh” sandwich, made with fried lionsmane in corn meal, with lettuce, tomato, cornichon pickles, and a dill sauce! Hella good! 🤩! You will looooove! The fried cauliflower was also delicious, zesty, and great texture! I also ordered a side of fries - delicious too! You will love it all; so many options on the menu!”

“Been wanting to try this place for a nice outing while on lunch from work. Walked in, was seated immediately. Was offered a beverage and took my order. My food was hot, it did take a minute to eat but everything was made to order, even the dumplings. The salt and pepper fish & shrimp was really good, although it wasn't cod like usual. I think it was tilapia.. but all in all it was good. Would definitely go back for the lunch special.”

“The foods good but 25 min before closing and you can only get what’s cooked. No sandwiches burgers nothing. Plan accordingly”

“First experience with Ethiopian foods!! So light, healthy, and fresh, everything tasted homemade and fluffy but also crisp and natural, left a great taste in the mouth and a weightlessly bouncy belly, the tea was exquisitely spiced with exiting exotic flavors, wish more foods had character like this while being friendly to the diet! The pictures are of the Ethiopian breakfast and California croissant, we also had some decadent yet light baklava and sambusa to-go as well! The drinks were an Ethiopian iced tea which was full of life and flavor without being sugary and a hot chai latte which was comfortingly sweet and spicy. It was a quiet cafe-ambience atmosphere with gorgeous lighting and cool location, perfect for brunch! The staff were all so nice and came to check in on us and inspire us with insight in their beautiful culture! We will be coming back 😋”

“I recently dined at a fantastic restaurant that left a lasting impression. The lamb shank was exquisite, perfectly cooked to tender perfection. The customer service was exceptional, with attentive staff ensuring a delightful dining experience. Moreover, the restaurant's accessibility made it convenient for all patrols. Highly recommend for a memorable meal !”

“Workers are super friendly and kind! Just knocked 2 stars because every single outlet is blocked off. Very disappointed and upset. I needed to do some work and my laptop dies and needs to be plugged in. Won’t be returning:(”

“Really enjoying this place. I've had a few meals because I work near by, but I've come in a few times as well now. The staff is always pretty nice. Especially the coffee maker person. Always clean tables. Lots of places to sit. The house made pickled onions on the avocado toast drive me wild! Fast service, clean restrooms, outdoor seating available. My only gripe is there are a weird amount of dogs every time I come to this place. So there's a bit of fecal visibility and noise while you eat/chat but not the restaurants fault. Definitely come check this place out. Bring your dog.”

“Recommended by our nurse - who overheard our conversation post checkup and chipped in gasping with full blown passion “you guys looking for a bakery nearby? Baker & Commons!” So 5 minutes later we met this neighborhood gem - a vivid yellow little beautiful bakery at the corner of Russell & College. It’s not the everything-perfect type of bakery that wows you with flawlessness, but it’s charming nonetheless exactly because of its laidback attitude and the tolerance of imperfection - just like HOME. You care less, because you can be real. It features home baking goods, in pan, in tray, in down-to-earth paper cups and containers; its latte is in a bowl (kinda cute); it picks seasonal fruits and turns them into golden shiny turnover; it slices tiramisu upon order. Dog friendly. Kid friendly. Book nerd friendly. Life long relationship friendly. If you didn’t fall in love at first glance here, that’s fine, you will gradually sink in, gently.”

“Best chicken birria tacos I've ever had! The consomme is very delicious. We loved the Pollo mole tacos as well. You really can't go wrong with anything from this spot as all the food is flavorful and tasty. They have a good variety of beer choices. Lots of indoor dining with a bar area and limited outdoor dining. Very spacious and open. The bathrooms are well maintained. All the employees were friendly and gave phenomenal service. Extremely happy with my experience here. Would highly recommend!”

“Absolutely fantastic food and wait staff! We pretty much closed the place down because we were having so much fun talking to everyone. Even more important the food was phenomenal — we had amazing fried olives (don’t knock it until you try it — it was actually our favorite dish!), steak tartar, scallop, a soup, gnocchi, and rolls. The wine list was phenomenal as well — you can’t go wrong with the glasses or the bottles.”

“I went to the other location on its last day and I can't wait to try the new location. It was my first time there. I got a shrimp burrito. It was worth the money. It was maybe the best burrito I've had. It was so good. I'll definitely be a regular. The service was also fantastic.”

“Fast and healthy food that’s also super tasty!! Super friendly vibes. Perfect for vegans, vegetarians and even meat eaters (you pick which protein source you want)! This place makes eating vegetables really easy (for those of us who probably have some sort of vitamin deficiency).”

“Mouth-watering smoked charsiu pork and South Asian-flavored chicken. Generous portions, nice accompaniments for each, delicious house soda. I will definitely visit regularly. Their flavor profiles are so fresh, attention-grabbing, and savory.”

“best spaghetti and meatballs I’ve ever had. I have a love hate relationship with spaghetti bc of school lunches but this version really lets the tomatoes shine in their rich, luscious glory. The squash brown butter gnocchi was an interesting balance between sweet and savory. The mushroom rigatoni was equally rich, but wish they incorporated more of the umami flavor in the mushroom. but I love this place so much it’s a 10/10 for me!!!”

“Such a great experience, unexpected to be honest. The food is great, not salty at all, fresh, made to order, and very tasty. Much better than other dumpling places in the East Bay. The service is friendly and efficient - 2 waiters for the whole place and yet they were fast and reliable. The atmosphere is very nice, with a bright light and clean space that makes it a joy to be there. Highly recommended and will definitely be back”

“Barista didn’t make the drink correctly. Ordered a Havana Cap. Condensed milk was all at the bottom. Other Peets location mixes it with the hot espresso before pouring. Makes a huge difference in drink experience.”

“Omg. Omg. Omg. YUM. Saffron Kitchen will be on a regular rotation for me going forward. I've only had Afghani food once or twice, but this is another level. The menu has plenty of options but they all fit onto one page; I am not a fan of menus that go on for 3-4 pages. Also, there are many beverage choices, and their cocktails are pretty good. The steamed dumplings - the Mantu - was heavenly. I am a discerning Chinese dumpling eater, and I was over the moon with every bite of this dish. I had to refrain from licking the plate. Of course, we had to have lamb, and we struggled to decide because there were so many options. We landed on the lamb kabob; my friend and I kept cutting the lamb into smaller and smaller pieces so we could have more and more bites to savor. Then we had a veggie sampler because we couldn't decide which veggie we wanted. We got to taste the eggplant, the spinach, and the butternut squash. Everything was great, but the butternut squash shined. The restaurant has so many beautiful spaces to dine. First, a fancy parklet and patio area set a level below the street for those who want to dine outside in the fresh air. Inside, there is a main dining section that is cozy and comfortable, with a decent bar. There also is a pretty stunning private dining room. The service was the highlight. Our server was extremely attentive, and other wait staff checked in on us. If you're not familiar with Afghan food, the staff will be more than delighted to explain it to you. You'll be missing out if you don't try it! Finally, the prices are incredibly reasonable for what they offer you. What a welcome addition to the community.”

“Ive been coming here for years whenever im in town and the service and quality has always been great. However, today it took almost 30 minutes to get two lattes, even tho the place was almost empty. They were busy filling online orders and ignoring the people who actually order in person. The place was almost empty, but virtually packed.”

“Tried Flavas Jamaican Grill (Oakland) for the first time (via UberEats) a couple of days ago and have since ordered twice! I was very impressed by the flavor, presentation and sustainable packaging — the food travels well. I ordered the Jerk Chicken wings (with jerk sauce on the side), Rice & Beans (peas), Codfish Fritters, Plantains, and Mac n Cheese and everything was delicious… consistent to taste. A part of my family line is Jamaican and even though I didn’t grow up in the culture, there’s definitely a sense of “home” and comfort while eating my fritters, and especially the plantains, and rice & peas. Followed up with a Ting! Touched my heart! The only item I wasn’t a fan of was the Jamaican patty from my first order. It was a nice size, but the meat filling was a tad underwhelming (visually/texture wise) compared to Jamaican Patties with beef I’ve tried in the past. I may try again because I’ve seen review photos that look more promising. Overall all, I enjoyed my meals and am a satisfied customer.”
