“Went there and ordered the grilled cheese with a side of tomato soup. And let me tell you… WOW!!! I’ve never had a grilled cheese like that before. It was an explosive flavor bomb in my mouth. The soup was delicious too and they paired well together. All of the staff was super friendly, the place was clean, and service was prompt. My server was Jasmine and she made sure that my glass of sweet tea was never empty. 5 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review for Magnolias. It’s so good I’ll probably be coming here at least once a week.”

“Our food was delicious and beautifully presented. At our table we tasted the butternut squash- crab bisque, escargot & bone marrow, entrée’s were redfish, chicken & lamb chops. The wine list is very interesting and moderately priced. Service was attentive and professional. Decor is relaxing and simple. Last but not least the desserts ( made in-house) were outstanding. It was NOT noisy and we had a lovely dinner catching up with friends. We’ll be back soon!”

“We came around 4 pm on a Friday and there was no line. The two workers were very friendly and helpful as it was our first time. We got the Connecticut roll with extra lobster and the classic roll. Both were delicious! Clam chowder was also good. The price is pretty average considering it’s downtown. We loved that the seating is spread out and even if it was fully sat nobody would be sitting RIGHT next to you like a lot of restaurants do. Definitely recommend this place and we will probably start coming here regularly!”

“We waited awhile to try this place after reading initial reviews. Either they have tweaked some of the recipes, or maybe some people just have taste receptors that are different…because this place has some really yummy and flavorful Mediterranean food. The opposite of bland. My husband said his gyro is just as good as the gyro at his favorite Greek restaurant from where we used to live, and he really enjoyed the Baba sauce that comes on it. And their falafel (I got mine with the spicy Baba sauce instead of tahini) is better than any I’ve had before. The people working here are nice, as well. We will certainly be adding this into our regular rotation of restaurants (along with Timoti’s, which I think is owned by the same people and is also awesome).”

“The crunchy taco shells are freshly made and pair well with the beef and chicken. Definitely a great place to go for lunch. Highly recommend it, I’m from California and will fly back to have more in the near future.”

“Budget-friendly, no frills. Great location with easy access to beach. Staff was very friendly. Food was great. Unfortunately room was directly behind band stage so it was VERY LOUD in our room. We could also hear the slam of the restaurant bathroom door, which was also frequent and loud. Luckily the bands do stop by 10.”

“We have gone several times and the staff is amazing, the sushi, nigiri and sashimi are so good. We have tried roughly every roll, both cooked and raw. I have eaten at several places here and in Jacksonville, and this place hands down is the best. Do yourself a favor and stop in.”

“So good, we ate here twice in 3 days. Out of 8 meals, EVERY SINGLE DISH was fantastic! The buttermilk fried chicken was the kid’s favorite. My wife gets adventurous and eats fish every once in a while and the blackened mahi tacos made her want to eat more fish. The fish and chips is the best I’ve ever eaten, and it came with two MASSIVE cod filets. We’re from a coastal town in South Carolina that should be able to get close, but they don’t. We also had the shaved ribeye cheesesteak and shrimp baskets. Both of those were amazing, too. They did the coleslaw as good as I have ever found in a southern/seafood restaurant. Waffle fries sound simple enough, but they were way better than the waffle fries you get at that popular fast-food chicken joint. Portion sizes were “heavy-hitter approved.” I’m a big guy. I was NOT disappointed. Can’t believe this place only has 4.5 stars with so few reviews. If you’re on Amelia Island, EAT HERE!!”

“I had the pleasure of having New South at my wedding. They provided cocktail hour apps and entrees. I would make this decision to have them provide their stellar service and delicious food a million times over. They are helpful, communicative, and a joy to work with! If you’re looking to stop by their food truck for a bite to eat or book them for an event you will not be disappointed!”

“Great bagels (I have yet to find Montreal-like bagels ;-(. Please don’t put so much cream cheese on my bagel, and don’t put cream cheese over the hole. Good coffee, but you really should have Kona coffee to be on theme. Otherwise I love the place.”

“Good breakfast, kind servers, and clean environment. The breakfast is on the moderate side, so if you want large quantities, this place is not for you. However, if you are trying to control your food intake, quantities are perfect. Good food presentation. The quiche was good, a little moist which some like. The juice, coffee and tea came with complementary refill which was nice.”

“Wow. Let me begin by saying this was our first time to The Patio at 5th and Ash and it was absolutely incredible. We started with the drunken cheesy bread (pictured) and followed it with a carafe of the Red House Sangria which was absolutely delicious. Also, our waitress, Leslee, was wonderful! She is a big part of why our dining experience was so incredible. She is very attentive, upbeat, & personable! For dinner, I had the shrimp scampi which was equally delicious. This place is definitely a hidden gem that I will return to. Absolutely wonderful addition to Amelia Island!!!!”

“Atmosphere was clean and nice. Service was amazing and everyone super sweet. The food was outstanding and some of the best authentic Cuban we have had. This is a new regular for our house. Just a recommendation, need to get highchairs for children and changing tables in bathrooms for families with little ones but we know they're new and don't hold it against them!”

“Delicious German Brat with best homemade potato salad I have ever had! Sean recommended some great ice cold beer as well! Pretzel was warm and tasty with some great dipping sauces. Loved and will be back again.”

“We’ve had a pleasant stay! Easy, fast check-in! Nice staff. Rooms are clean and have everything you need! We had the Bridal Suite. This is a historic house and that is the charm! Expect to hear city noises through the night (we always bring a sound machine so it didn’t bother us!). The rooms all have their own exterior entry doors. So you can be private more like a hotel, not your traditional B&B feel where you are in someones house. Central air, but not controlled in your room. No issues, but might be for some people especially in the summer. The Mermaid bar downstairs was fantastic and the Green Turtle next door was fun last night. It’s also Walking distance to a ton of restaurants and bars!!”

“Amazing food. The melon aqua Fresca was delicious. Trio queso, guacamole and salsa was a great start to our meal. My daughter had three tacos and rice and beans. I had the salad which was good. I was accidentally charged for chicken on my salad. The restaurant was closing so I didn’t say anything. Aside from that we would definitely eat there again.”

“My parents and I tried this restaurant a few months ago and had a wonderful experience. The cuisine is unique for most Italian restaurants as it is authentic Sicilian. We went back again for a second visit and found the entire experience to be as wonderful as the first time. If you want a meal that would be reminiscent of one cooked with love by an Italian grandmother, I would highly recommend Alloro. Don't come if you are in a hurry or if you want mass-produced Italian food. Come to Alloro if you want an amazing dining experience!”

“Rode past the cafe and decided to stop in and glad I did! Ordered the German coffee (pictured) and it was DELICIOUS! Friendly welcoming service. Cute interior. Will definitely be back to try their food and pastries!”
