Yakitori Ando

Address: 1215 Center St #200, Honolulu, HI 96816, USA

Restaurant

“A Great little hidden gem. The food is great, and the service fantastic. Food is served omakase style so you just inform the waitress what you DON'T eat and they'll send you everything else. I love this style as the food keeps coming until you tap out and say "no mas." One unfortunate thing, the group I went with wasn't too adventurous so no Cartilage or Offal, which to me are some of the best things grilled. The great thing is that our waitress brought me a couple of dishes of these after our group was done with skewers and starting on the nabe. A good way for me to end on things I wanted. The price is also very reasonable for the quality of food. I'm a heavy eater but was accompanied by four ladies and a late guest but the bill still came in under $200. Our waitress and the chef were nice enough to make individual skewers of what our late guest missed to make up and catch him up to us. I can't say enough about the taste of the food. The flavors off the grill can't be beat. I even missed taking pictures of half our food including the nabe (soup) and Japanese noodles because I was enjoying the tastes. And, as a bonus, the place is BYOB with no corkage fee. Parking is conveniently across the street in the Bank of Hawaii lot and is a reasonable flat rate after hours ($2.00 on 7/3/19). This place should be on any foodies list of places to get to.”

Super Pho Waialae

Address: 3538 Waialae Ave, Honolulu, HI 96816, USA

Restaurant

“Good place for a quick meal, good food, quick service, fair price. I usually come here when I don't want to fight the crowd at the restaurants a block away. I can find parking most times in the lot behind the building. Nothing fancy just eat and run.”

Kaimuki's Boston Pizza

Address: 3506 Waialae Ave, Honolulu, HI 96816, USA

Restaurant

“Some of the best pizza you can get on the island! We’re in the middle of a pandemic and these guys are still making beautiful, delicious pizzas filled with toppings. I especially love the spinach and garlic pizza (or with mushrooms too). Thanks so much for serving tasty, gigantic pizzas! Well worth the price! FYI one pizza will easily serve 4 hungry adults, or maybe 6 people who eat slightly lighter.”

“Went for date night. Glad they have free parking Out in front. Ambiance of restaurant is cool. We made dinner reservations. Our best dishes were the fried oysters and the scallops. Sooo good! We also had the beet and pumpkin salad and crispy rice. Also good but not sure I’d get it again for my own personal taste. All dishes were delicious I just found the crispy rice too crispy for my teeth and the beet pumpkin a interesting taste. Which are all still amazing dishes and my friend enjoyed them. It’s just personal preference and my preference was with the oysters and scallops. Perfectly cooked. Thank you for an amazing dinner experience”

Shaloha Pita

Address: 3133 Waialae Ave, Honolulu, HI 96816, USA

Restaurant

“Wow the food here is amazing! Super fresh and authentic. I’m pretty sure they make everything in house including the sauces. Even the pita is delicious, no preservatives according to the owner. If the quality and flavor of the food doesn’t blow you away the portion sizes will! 1 meal is big enough to easily feed 2 people. The plates are really good as well as the pita sandwiches. I tried the eggplant pita with falafel today and it was so good, loved the pickled cabbage inside! The owner served us and he was very friendly and took the time to explain all of the ingredients. He even gave us some of the lemon drink they make which I highly recommend!! What a great experience! I’ll definitely be back, it’s hard to find places with quality food like this!”

“They've been here for a very long time and is and iconic place to eat at. You'll get to experience the original fast food of that area eating there. The surrounding buildings hasn't changed in the past 40+ years. Their famous Kim Chee Burger is the must try item and is well known to be very delicious by the locals. Wait time for your food takes about 10 minutes but it all depends on what you ordered and if it's busy. Local dishes are on the menu.”

“One of my favorite places for poke on the island. They have such a great selection of different flavors. Might be a little heavy on the toppings, but like the name of the restaurant, it's fresh! High quality fish here. The plate lunches are awesome too. Don't miss out on the crab stuffed ahi plate on Wednesdays only. Great place for locals & tourists.”

L & L Hawaiian BBQ

Address: 3133 Waialae Ave, Honolulu, HI 96816, USA

Restaurant

“This is a hole in the wall LnLs set in a small block of shops on Waialae. Parking can be difficult during peak periods as there is only a few stalls available here. This place is middle of the road in look and cleanliness, but the BBQ is always pretty good. I've had few hits and misses with LnLs lately , but these guys are pretty consistent. The staff are not overly hospitable here but from some of the noisy customers I've encountered , Im not holding that against anyone!”

Kuhio Grille Honolulu (Kaimuki)

Their service was really nice and food was great (crispy outside, tender inside), we really had a lovely lunch. Mahalo!”

Ba-Le Sandwich Shop

Address: 2445 Campus Rd, Honolulu, HI 96822, USA

Restaurant

“For healthy food on campus, this is the place to eat. Very good food and affordable prices. I will also add that you don't pay tax on your food as well. The menu is smaller than your BaLe outside of campus but still the most common menu items are sold. There is beef, chicken or tofu Pho to choose from your favorite Pho dishes. They even serve milk tea if you're craving that on campus.”

“Easily a Michelin-tier experience here, on par w/ top omakase spots anywhere. Fish is imported fresh from Japan, quality is excellent as expected. Chef Ray is a cool dude, funny and kept it real. Knife skills and dish presentation both A+. It was apparent that he is highly dedicated to the craft. I wish him great success and would definitely recommend trying this place.”
