“Why did I do this to myself? Expensive but so worth it. I can't afford these kinds of habits! Glad I don't live here now. Suffice to say everything was excellent. I got there early in their dining service, having waited it out perusing Oak St. Kept the party going with a really good unfiltered/cloudy sake. The miso, while disappointing for me being tofu less, more than made up for it with a broth of vigor that would make IC Michiba proud. Talking to the chef towards the end of my meal, he explained to me that they use all the parts of the fish they buy, and it showed. I haven't had uni or ikura too often, but the quality and flavor was obvious. It wasn't salty, smooth texture and the roe had a pleasant bite. Both the bluefin sashimi and the spicy tuna hr were the best tuna I've ever had. Fatty, slightly sweet and of course well prepared. Single best sushi meal I've had since Morimoto's in Philly several years ago. Extra points for the head chef to share her knowledge, train her staff and give them the ability to perform like that without being in town.”

“Everything we tried was excellent. We were there for a leisurely lunch on a Monday. The queso was good but without chunks and not too spicy. The four year old loved it. The pork and coleslaw tacos were excellent and more complex then they sounded. The steak street tacos had a lovely char and cheese on them. The Hawaiian nachos took two people to eat them but they were gone. The house Margarita and Paloma were lovely. Everyone adored the ginger beer.”

“I love Mexican food. It’s one of my favorites. I wanted to love this place. The style inside is so cute and definitely instagram worthy. The flight of margaritas for 20$ is a good deal. The empanadas were good. The best tasting part of our food was the black beans and rice. The chicken and steak had little to no seasoning/flavor ; Very bland. The consumè was thin like water. With no flavor. The server took so long to take care of us and they weren’t even busy. Ambiance 4 Food 2.5 Service 3 Drinks and ambiance are the reason this place will succeed. I hope they do better on their menu and service to make if better.”

“5 stars is all they’ll let you post, so let me tell you a story. I’m of an advanced age, so when I tell you I’ve never eaten a better burger, trust me it’s unbelievable, as most of y’all know I’m new to NOLA but not the hospitality industry. Great music, warm and comfortable environment, everything that screams awesome customer experience, because it truly was!”

“Excellent Jamaican restaurant, no fuss, the food is delicious, authentic with a twist of elegance and imagination. Cocktails and fresh juices are also the real deal and well done. Service with a smile and fast, which is a gem, for those who know.. The cherry on top is the upstairs Hummingbird Lounge/Love Jones, an absolute treasure of local excellence, art, music and mixology. Went for a poetry night organized by Lou, bar tender Bobbi was amazing, stunning and good vibes all around. One Love ❤”

“So excited to finally have a Primo in town! As a former Philly native I can tell you that Primo is the only national chain that has hoagies that taste like a mom & pop sandwich shop down in south Philadelphia. The bread is the BEST. The ingredients are top-notch. Definitely looking forward to stopping there on my way home from work frequently! Also, they had a brass band on opening day and the owner is super nice and was hanging out with everyone. They definitely get the New Orleans vibes. 🤗💓”

“Absolutely delicious food with great friendly service - a real family feel. It was just the time of day I went that meant it was fairly low on atmosphere, the place was charming and the potential for a bustling ambience. That said it was exactly what I was after.”

“Such a wonderful experience. The food was amazing! Great cocktails! Fantastic service. Fried fungi fingers were perfect, the balsamic drizzle made a huge impact. Dining with a chicken & waffles connoisseur,-it was on point! I had Portobello cheessteak- Omg! It was delicious! The Aviator cocktail was perfect. I am looking forward to coming back for the beer 🍺. I know it will beat all expectations.”

“Great place to grab a bite and coffee. Food was fresh and looked great just not a lot of seasoning added to dishes. Had a turkey, avocado breakfast sandwich before and it was good just not seasoned but fluffed well when I added salt and pepper. Staff isn't overly nice but the are polite. Frozen coffee is always good. Can't go wrong.”

“The location and the service was fantastic. I had got there 45 minutes before they opened. So after reviewing the menu had my heart set on the hot roast beef sandwich with gravy. To my chagrin, the roast beef was not ready upon opening, thus my 4 stars instead of 5. Ended up having a decent burger and oysters. Great view of the marina area. Sad I never got back for dinner. I would say it is a place to visit.”

“St Roch Kitchen serves breakfast & lunch and is open Monday through Friday. The food is home cooked and delicious. I discovered this place over three years ago and have been hooked ever since. Its hidden away next to a gas station and Dominos pizza on Chef. There is a constant flow of people comming through especially at lunchtime. There is room to eat in or you can get your order to go. Food is very fresh. The menu is different every day of the week and the regulars know what to expect each day of the week. I love running in to get fresh made to order breakfast sandwiches early morning. All the food is good too hard to decide on one. They serve stuffed bell peppers to die for, the red beans are so creamy, baked spaghetti, cheesy macaroni, BBQ ribs, smothered pork chops, jambalaya pasta, fried & baked chicken, veggie sides, etc. Get there before 2 because they close at 3 and towards the end mostly everything has been served.”

“I have been travelling from out of town to Pho Bang since Katrina. The food is world class. The prices have edged up over the years so expect to spend $35-40 on lunch for 2 but it is worth that and more. The restaurant is very clean, spacious and friendly. If it was closer to downtown New Orleans I eat there 3 times a week.”

“Our meal was lovely. The restaurant is charming and blessedly outside the French Quarter. Service was friendly, timely and impeccable. The bill was lower than I thought it might be, but the meal more lived up to the price. The deviled eggs were a particular delight. This was my favorite restaurant from my week in NOLA.”

“Excellent food and top-notch service in an expensive urbane setting. The crab salad is particularly noteworthy. As is the house Cabernet. Their signature veal chop with Creole tomato toping is a work of art. Reservations are essential.”
