“We are tourists to the KC region and were told that Jack Stack was THE barbecue spot! This place did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, the restaurant was outstanding! James was amazing and gave us a great patio seat (even though the restaurant was packed). Josh was our server and was kind, helpful, and very attentive to our dietary needs (allergies). For anyone with dietary preferences, take note: Jack Stack BBQ has a fantastic allergen menu that identifies the common allergens in each menu item! This was perfect for us and immensely helped us with our dinner selection. The service was great and the food was exceptional. Thank you James and Josh for a fantastic barbecue experience in Kansas City!”

“Just got here in KC and Grünauer was our first place to visit and grab lunch. It definitely exceeded our expectations. We had six people in our party and had no problems getting seated. Atmosphere was super cool being that it looked like a refurbished building. The service was outstanding. Mario was our waiter and explained everything on the menu and offered perfect suggestions to our party. If your looking for exceptionally good German food this is a must have.”

“We had a lovely brunch on Saturday morning. Service was friendly, efficient, attentive and welcoming. We started out with an order of biscuit and gravy which I failed to get a picture of because we devoured it so quickly. Nicely made biscuit with a wonderfully seasoned gravy. A bit more gravy would would have been nice and I’m sure they would have been brought if asked. The corn beef hash was flavorful with chunks of corn beef, gravy and potatoes with a very runny egg which could been cooked every so slightly more to thicken yolk. Quiche was of a vegetable variety and not particularly in keeping with the rest of the meal. It was rather like firm scrambled eggs with veggies in a crust. I’d order something else next time. Bloody Mary was tasty with good bit of spice. Coffee was hot and plentiful. We will go back again.”

“The store is presented pretty nicely. The cashier was friendly. They were pretty light on the prepared meals but the items I picked up were good. The only complaint I have is that it is a bit high in price. While good it is certainly not something I could afford to go to too often.”

“Was there for dinner on Easter Sunday celebrating by birthday. One of the top meals I’ve had in KC. Not only was the food amazing but the atmosphere makes it a whole experience. The server easily answered our questions and the cocktails were delicious. I hope I get to eat here again.”

“Nice little cozy bar, relaxed atmosphere with couch, table and bar seating as well as a pool table and shuffleboard. I came here on a Monday night and there were a few others, not too busy. I loved the ambiance. The staff was very friendly especially Nicholas, Kelly and Bradley. I didn't try the food yet because the restaurant was closed but I will definitely be back and I highly recommend.”

“It was a wonderful surprise. The noodle dish and appetizers were very good. What stood out for me was how perfect everything was cooked. My favorite of all with my order was the Fried Avocado's. Perfectly Breaded and then deep fried. When I bit into a section I checked out of this world... Crunchy on the outside and perfectly creamy on the inside. A must try.”

“This was my first visit and it was delicious! This meal fed me for lunch and my husband ate the leftovers for dinner. Generous helping. The butternut squash bisque was like a dessert soup... so yummy!”

“Had a great experience at Society for brunch! Live music made it even more fun, and it was not too loud so we could still enjoy company and catching up. We tried lots of items, including some not pictured here. Service was very friendly and informative. The prices are great. They do offer bottomless mimosas if that's what you're looking for in a brunch. The menu has offerings for everyone. GET THE PRIME RIB SANDWICH! And the tater tots. There's a parking garage a couple of blocks away, and street parking - although in this area it can be scarce. Entrance is accessible, as are restrooms, which are gender neutral. Design of the interior is really beautiful! Chairs are super comfy. There's a couple of rooms so it'd be a great place for a large group or for experiencing their nightlife scene. But check it out for brunch, like we did.”

“Wonderful anniversary place. Clean, tidy, elegant. Had one of the best steaks of my life. I can't remember what topping it was, but it was cooked perfectly. Bone marrow was savory. Romantic, yet busy. I would like to come back someday. Our waiter was very attentive.”

“Inside the union station this unique restaurant has been around for years and is a fun place to eat while enjoying all that the union station has to offer. A great location in the grand lobby of the old train station with its high ceilings and majestic architecture. Breakfast is served until 11 am . The selection is great and the service was good . Our food was tasty but slow to arrive and not hot when it did finally arrive. I want to try the Sunday brunch since it sounds so good and I will update my review when I do. The prices are rich and the parking costs are reasonable .”

“I drove 25 mins to check this place out. The chicken was awesome, lots of flavor and I didn't need my favorite sauce it was so good. The beans were really good with just the right amount of seasoning and the rice was moist (to those that can't stand that word, sorry, not sorry) and flavourful. Came with corn tortillas, cooked onion and cooked peppers. Will definitely eat there again!!”

“Chef Jah and his wife are outstanding. Outstanding customer service, food, etc. Im a very big local foodie/I try “hole in the walls/trucks/stands etc” and Texas has held my heart for most of the food I’ve devoured….Opal N Blues is the first KC joint that I would be proud to recommend as a Kansas City secret. Wings? On point. Dripping with spices and honey with the perfect crunch. Black Mamba pasta? An incredibly earthy and warm. You remembered my employees name when the came in and I immediately received a text from her informing that she would come here every day simply for the atmosphere you gave off….What more can I say? Honestly? Chef and company…y’all kill it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

I had the Cajun pasta & tried the fry dish (like the pasta it has the cheese sauce with the meats of your liking) maaaaan both were delicious. Do walk run to this restaurant , I’m telling you!”

“The food was FANTASTIC! I got the Super nachos, friend got some big burrito and it had french fries in it! If you think it sounds gross, it wasn't. It was so good! (He gave me some of his burrito). They were open at 2-3 am. Yummy! I forgot to take a pic of my nachos but I'll try to find a pic and post it. Edit: I just found out this was the old Pancho's on 24 hwy. They closed Pancho's and opened this. If I got the wrong information, somebody tell me please.”

“Amazing Shawerma, falafel and Gyros! Filled with meat and perfect ratio of pickes and sauces! I’m middle eastern and have never had better Mediterranean food in KC! Also everyone is incredibly kind and the place is held to a very high and clean standard!”

“Chelsea welcomed us with a smile and intricate knowledge of the food and bar menu - even their new seasonal specials. The kid (18!) had the Tavern Burger, Medium (they’re very thick patties and are fabulously juicy beef) and fries, with all the condiments on the side. As always the wife and I shared - so we got the Fish and Chips and the Rubin (they make their own corned beef and it’s good). Of course I had a Guinness, and Nataliya had their renowned Grand Bloody, Bloody Mary - she “loved the fabulously fantastic toppings, including shrimp and bacon and more!” Absolutely had a phenomenal time on a great Friday night wasn’t very crowded, yet (we went early)!! * highly recommend!*”

“Can't say enough good things about the way it feels to know that you're in the right place if you want a great, laid back, atmosphere with the most friendy people, outstanding original local live music, some of the regions best Grateful Dead tribute bands, and one amazing array of daily house-made food specials, meticulously created by owner, Mike Kelly, himself! Royals games are always on TV there, too! Oh, and you HAVE to check out the local original artwork covering the bathroom walls! Ruthie Becker-Clark has absolutely outdone herself with her beautiful gift.”
