“Nice environment, live music, good crowd, people around are friendly and having fun. The only thing is drinks, drinks served to us were just water. There was minimum alcohol in them, if any. Also, be careful about where you choose to sit, because if you sit too close to where the live music plays, people will start dancing there eventually, and you will need to move, so just be wise about that. Good music and good vibes!”

“On Monday night we reserved a table for 8 adults and 5 children (ranging in age from 3-8). Our waiter gave exceptional service, bringing the kids' meals first, as requested. We all loved our meals! Our table was set beautifully and everything was ready for our reservation. We were allowed to linger, and had a wonderful time.”

“A peacock among ducks. In sharp contrast to the refined look of the many Portsmouth eateries, Lazy Jacks is a wonderful splash of bright colors with a sense of liveliness even before the crowds ascend. It's drink menu is fun and extensive and you couldn't be any closer to the water. The staff seemed to be as bright and cheery as the decor. Food.. the Calamari was well cooked , but a few of the smaller pieces were slightly rubbery . My seafood jambalaya was huge. Seriously I'll make two full meals out of it and the amount of seafood it contained was plentiful. I stole some Cole slaw from my wife's plate (her scallop melt was strictly off limits) and it was wonderfully seasoned and had great texture. I'm looking forward to coming back at night with some friends to explore the drink menu more extensively.”

“Excellent food and a great atmosphere. Sat upstairs and the seating was not on top of each other. Great view from the window seat overlooking the water. Thank you for serving us!”

“I love Moes. Have had a few bad experiences though. The other day at the Dover location both my Aunt and myself had funky tasting sandwiches. We're thinking it was the cheese, couldn't finish the sandwich. The one near the Fox Run mall inside the Mobil always seems to have stale bread and are stingy with veggies. I've been going since I was little (over 30 years) and only a handful of bad experiences and all within the past 5 years.”

“Totally changed the game when it comes to Asian fusion... The food was phenomenal. My server was so kind and helpful. He made me a drink smoked with rosemary and suggested the Korean Beef & Kimchi Noodles ... They did not disappoint. This spot is a staple, can't wait to visit again.”

“Amazing food and service. Maitre'd asked if I called ahead and I said no. He still brought us to a cozy downstairs table and got us seated. Waitress was very cool and attentive, drinks spot on, food to die for. Going back soon. Five stars all around!”

“Amazing brunch food. French toast was a big hit along with waffles and a fantastic biscuits and gravy. Our waitress was friendly as family and made sure everything was perfect. Decor is classic New England tavern with exposed beams and brick. It was the perfect place to eat on a busy Sunday.”

“The food was good. I got General Tso chicken and steamed dumplings to go. The sauce was light. Which was kind of nice considering how some restaurants drench the chicken in sauce. The chicken was maintained it's crispiness. I really enjoyed the steamed dumplings. Out of the many places along the East coast, South, and Southwest that I've tried dumplings at, Pink Bamboo is one of the best. The list is small. Also, the service was quick, and the hostess was genuinely nice. I'll go again and try a few more items.”

“Really impressive. I saw several awards for James Beard Semifinalist. How the chef was not the winner, I don't know. All of the dishes were well presented and easy on the eyes. The flavors were bold but balanced from the starters to the main dishes all the way through to the decadent desserts. This is our new stop off when crossing the Maine border. Phenomenal!”

“Super good... Really loved our dinners...we tried to go to other higher rated restaurants, fortunately they were booked and we found Cure...what a little gem...we ate on the patio and was quaint. Started with the peanut butter and jelly short ribs, sounds strange really a great blend, worth a try...Almond crusted salmon and pork chop. We both really liked our meals. The pork chop was tender and moist... Lots of flavor...what a little special spot. We'll be back when we're in the area again!”

“Nice place nestled in Portsmouth NH! Food was good and got your money's worth! We had a picture of sangria, not the best, but still very good. Had a great view of the river from our seat!”

“Our waiter wasn't great but the food was fabulous! We ordered the seafood platter, which had plenty of tasty, fried shrimp, clams, haddock and scallops. We also had the seafood stuffed haddock with crab and shrimp which was delicious with a creamy broth and I had the combo plate of haddock and scallops which was fried with a nice portion of fish and the coleslaw was great. The atmosphere was nice, sitting on the deck over the water. We will definitely go back, we've been there three other times and have always enjoyed our meals.”

“I would have walked right by this place, but my son and daughter in law ( who treated me) pointed it out. Nothing much to look at from the outside, but once you enter, wow! It's so beautiful and upscale. Everyone from the hostess to the waitstaff was friendly and very cordial. The food was incredible. The appetizers, my entree ( salmon with fingerling potatoes) my never ending glass of sparkling Italian water and the take home dessert. What a treasure this restaurant is. And I felt so pampered! Can't praise this place enough. Incredible cuisine friendly staff and beautiful atmosphere make this restaurant a definite must.”

“I love the place, they have really attractive decoration and desserts. It's obvious that the people that work here are very passionate about what they do because you can see it in how the coffee and pastries are being made. This is a place that's dear to my heart in Portsmouth. Looking forward to tasting their coffee again in the future.”

“The South African food is simply amazing. The taste and smells of the food is AMAZING. The owners are very sweet and helpful when making the choice for dinner. The hot and spicy shrimp is probably the best tasting food we have had in a long time. I am sure that The Zulu Hut will be an icon in Portsmouth.”

“These wonderful people helped me out when I was in need of an item they didn’t sell - they gave me the one they use in the store! Their generosity was outstanding and I’ll certainly be back every time I’m in Portsmouth!”

“I have been several times over the past few years and I have never been disappointed with any of my orders. I have had cold and hot sandwiches and enjoyed eating them. I have not had any of the ice-cream so I have no opinion. I think they are connected to the market next door. Good luck finding a place to park near by. You can eat there or take a short walk to Presscot Park and enjoy the view. I like the street veiw because I have memories of how Portsmouth has transformed over the decades. Googie's occupies the old State Street Warehouse location. Update: June 2019; I had the Ragin' Cajun roast beef sandwich and a turkey wrap. Both were good. But when I went to use my Entertainment coupon, I was given some grief that they were not informed Entertainment went to online. It is not my fault and I am not sure I received my coupon's full value. I am deducting a ???? for that.”

“My husband and i had brunch here yesterday and it was FABULOUS!!! I love the atmosphere of the place and our waiter was probably one of the nicest we have encountered in our travels. We tried their homemade hash and although i have NEVER seen carrots in hash it was still pretty good. Every other part of our meal was over the top great. Will be going back”

“Great food, excellent drinks and service! The margaritas and tequila selection were superb and the wait staff was attentive. Just missed 5 stars for atmosphere. It was a dark rainy day so that may have contributed but the restaurant and bar felt dark and well, a little blah. Will definitely go back!”

“Out of this world fun and amazing experience. A mixture of asian dishes with a modern twist but without being pretentious. The cocktails were unbelievably good... so good that i took a pic of what i ordered even though i probably could never recreate it at home. I planned to come back about 30 minutes before leaving. :)”

“Eat here twice limited options on pasta and over abundance of sauce on dishes No angel hair or garlic bread a little on the slow side but nice server. Older could use some updating and lighting. Would not go back again and I love good Italian”

“Always excellent food and drinks that make me feel good after. Organic wines with none of the sulfates that make your body feel lousy. High quality steak in the steak and eggs. Local greens in the salads. Artistic presentation of each dish. An ever changing menu of fresh and fun options. Great location downtown with a view of the memorial bridge, and easy parking. Inside or outside, and amazingly this place is almost never crowded. I think people perceive it is expensive because of the decor and high class ambiance and go to a greasy spoon instead, but honestly it's not that much more than the alternatives, and you get the highest quality for a great price. And the service is exceptional -- never lacking. Clean tables, brightly illuminated inside, this is a great place for a bite or drink any time they are open. If Nimi is around, she can help you explore a new organic wine to suit your tastes. If you are on the fence, go here.”
