“Hard to find, in one of the new apartments buildings with the businesses on the first floor. The establishment was very clean. Though I got my order to go, there was ample seating at the bar, with 2-3 tables. They have no shortage of standing room. The menu is very confusing (this is where they lose a star) but the staff was very helpful. I ordered a shake, which came with a complimentary tea with metabolism booster. Both beverages were delicious, but immediately after drinking the shake I was nauseous. Over the next 3 days my nausea continued with abdominal pain. I’m not sure if it was due to an ingredient in the shake disagreeing with my body or a bug I got from somewhere else. I likely won’t be back, mostly because of the confusing overwhelming menu and location (I was passing through town, I don’t live nearby).”

“A perfect little bakery that has a blend of sweet and savory. Just had the focaccia egg and avocado breakfast sandwich 🥰 Really good! Enjoyed the raspberry turnover too! A light breakfast with a sweet ending except I had the sweet in the beginning.😊”

“This morning I went through the drive-thru and ordered a bagel with lightly spread of strawberry cream cheese and one bottle of orange juice. When I finally received the order and drove off, I saw they gave me a bagel with a whole lot of plain cream cheese. I immediately turned around and went back to the restaurant and parked my car and took the bagel into the restaurant. It took a while for me to be waited on. I explained to the female employee that what I was given was not what I ordered. She then went to make a new bagel. Approximately 5 minutes later, she brings out the second bagel. When I checked the bagel it again had plain cream cheese on it. I called over the employee again and explained that the bagel had plain cream cheese when I asked for strawberry. She took the bagel and went back to make a third bagel. It was then, another female employee started making excuses why the order kept being wrong. She was trying to justify the wrong orders being due to all the orders coming in through her headphones and that was the cause of the order being delivered incorrectly. I looked at her in astonishment as she continued to go on why the delivery of the incorrect orders was justified. After a minute of listening to her, I turned around and proceeded to leave with my hands up in the air with frustration. I left without receiving the third try of the bagel order. I ended up paying 5.14 for a bottle of orange juice. Today was the last time of me going to that restaurant for at least six months , if not longer. Poor customer service and employees not focusing. Many of the employees were more into talking with one another or being on the phone and not focusing on their primary responsibility. AN UPDATE TO THE ORIGINAL POST I did receive an email from Tim Horton's asking that I call them an explain the issue which I did. I then had a follow-up call from a representative from Tim Horton's which was very much appreciated.”

“I'm so excited, The City of Buffalo has a new upscale Japanese restaurant on Hertel! The food at Taisho Hertel is fantastic, and the presentation of everything we ordered was very impressive. We found the atmosphere and service to be a bit disjointed. Upon walking in, it was great to see they kept the historic Buffalo mural up behind the bar (although the host had no idea of when it was from or where it was taken) I had to look it up to find it was from the 1901 Buffalo Labor Day Parade on Main Street-very cool! The restaurant and bar have great potential, but the complete lack of any music left it feeling lifeless. We had no idea who our waiter was the entire evening. They attempted to bring other table's orders over to us a few times. The service wasn't bad. It was just confusing. You could tell they were trying. We would also love to see some more drink options to stay competitive with the restaurant bars on Hertel. Aside from their specialty drink menu, their options are very limited. Our reservation was for 6 pm on Saturday. We were lucky to find a parking spot right out front (it seems only street parking is available). They seated us promptly when we arrived, which was much appreciated. Overall, it was a very enjoyable evening! With a little fine tuning, Taisho Hertel could easily be in the running as one of the best sushi restaurants in the city!”

“Today was a day of giving at Jersey Mike’s. I ordered online, but when I went into the restaurant, it was packed, so it took a bit longer. Totally understandable. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many workers behind the counter in a tight spot working so hard. The tickets comically kept coming out of the printer, but yet it was like a well-oiled machine. I don’t think that anyone minded the delay because there was no reason to get upset. It was busy and everyone was fine with it. Great job today, Jersey Mike’s! By the way, our subs were delicious!”

“Mmm...not my favorite Chinese place in the whole world, but still very good. The prices are excellent and the interior is cozy (it's where one of my fave restaurants used to be). But the food is just slightly greasier than the fare at other places I've had. Still good tho.”

“Lake effect is located on Sheridan in the same plaza as Paula's donuts. Friendly, fast and sweet the owner and her daughter are super helpful and really seem to love what they do. I won an opportunity to try thier protein waffle....wow surprisingly delicious, filling, and seemed sinful but was healthy! The energy bomb teas and shakes are very good and have helped me keep going when running on empty after chasing around my son or running errands. Have been 3 times and will definitely be back.”

“Delicious, I door dashed my order later in the day when I got the munchies and it did not disappoint. Packaging was cute, brown sugar milk tea was amazing and the popcorn chicken was just the right amount of crispy, despite the wait time for delivery. Come to find out they use local honey in their drinks too, so I got to support two local businesses at once! Feel-good place to indulge for sure!!”

“Went for Sunday brunch and overall enjoyed the meal and general vibe of the space. I ordered the breakfast burrito which came with home fries (though they were actually tots, haha) and my friend did the double stack cheeseburger with fries. we also ordered the bacon nubs for the table. So just to get it out of the way they messed up our order and forgot to sub fries instead of the chips and we didn’t get our order of bacon nubs once the food came out. They were supposed to be the appetizer, but they weren’t dropped at all for us. We told our server who apologized and immediately brought out an order bacon nubs and the fries for us without charging us for them. Back to the food, the breakfast burrito with delicious and the tots were just kind of crispy I like. I also took a bite of my friends burger and it was really good as well. Though we didn’t want the chips they weren’t bad but the fries were definitely better, imo. We also got the mimosa carafe ($12) which was perfect for the two of us, though I was tempted to try a couple of the Brunch cocktails they offered. Despite the ordering snafu, we did enjoy our time there and played a couple of games of skeeball after our meal before leaving.”

“The food was amazing. Service was above and beyond. Chef came up to ask how our food was multiply times. They gave a a free plate of sushi. They have real Karen food. Takapaw. Also gave us free fruits. Price is super cheap and reasonable for the portion side. I would pay double the price. Orders 3 dishes, and the total was last last 15$! Ordered takeout afterward for three different people and they got everything perfect.”

“Came here while in Buffalo looking for some classic hot wings. The gentleman working was extremely friendly and was very nice to talk to while he made the wings. Things were pretty quiet given it was early and a weekday. There’s a small counter you can sit at but seems more just like a take out shop. I ordered a single 10 piece medium Buffalo. The wings were what I expected. They were crispy and well seasoned. He was nice to give me a side of ranch and blue cheese sauce. I don’t know if it’s standard to charge this much for wings but seemed a bit on the expensive side. I would understand charging almost $20 if it came with fries, carrots and or celery. They have some crazy flavors which I would like to try make at home. I can see it being popular if you’re throwing a party for a Bills game. It was nice to support a local business and family but I think I’d likely try another place.”

“Beautiful place, it was a really busy brunch day, so I will recommend to plan in advance and make a reservation before coming here to avoid long waiting, specially for the brunch. Staff was very kind, and attentive. Food full of flavor but a little overpriced for how small the portions were on my opinion, we still hungry after finishing our meal. Regardless we had a great time and I can see this place only improving in the future. If it had little bigger portions I would rate this place 6/5.”

“Not sure if it's new owners, but the food was absolutely amazing! The full size ribs were a wonderful shock. The large shrimp in my shrimp fried rice was perfectly cooked. Everything was incredible! It's not easy finding a great Chinese Restaurant (there are so many) but this is it! We will definitely be ordering again!”

“Let's start with dessert, I had the Lemon Cake, my wife said she almost saw a tear of emotion. It was pretty amazing. One of the best Italian places I have been to in the world. Great for a romantic date, but the portions are not so large they ruin the chance of romance.”

“The best pizza I've ever had!! The food is so delicious and there are so many menu options. The staff members are always friendly, prices are reasonable and the spot is always kept clean. Everyone who has left a bad review isn't taking into consideration that this location JUST opened a week ago and are clearly just seeking attention.”

“This spot is a hidden gem in Tonawanda. Flavors of Jean delivers an exquisite soul food cuisine mixed with a variety of cocktails, including a few signature drinks that have gained them much notoriety in the area. The owners, two of the sweetest women you'll ever meet, are always pleasant and welcoming. The restaurant itself is cozy. There's a jukebox on the wall if you want yo enjoy your favorite song while you eat or drink as well as multiple televisions for sporting events or the new episode of your favorite TV show. Moderately priced menu as well as adequate portions ensure you leave full. I highly recommend!”

“Pretty good selection of Boba Teas, not many bursting options but that's not a big deal. We tried some Pho, Eggrolls, Potstickers and a few other dishes I don't recall the name of, but have pictures. Far from the worst Boba I found in Buffalo, the third best I found.”
