“Relatively new local breakfast/brunch/lunch location, and very much enjoyed! Third time here, with different breakfasts, and all of them were delicious! When considering the selection for breakfast potatoes, I recommend the home fries - they're not like the traditional crispy southern style deep fry or pan fry, but are more like parboiled potatoes finished off with a light fry that cooks them entirely without changing the texture...very tasty!”

“One of the best steak burritos I've had. Was made fresh, not just assembled. Friendly crew working there. They have sheltered tables if you want to eat there.”

“I visited here on 1/22/21 around 9:15pm solely to use the bathroom. The bathroom was somewhat dirty. You couldnt use the paper towels, there was tissue on the floor, and there was water bottles around the toilet. While I was leaving and taking pictures, I heard the cashier and a customer talking about the mega millions jackpot, which there is a drawing tonight and the jackpot is $1 billion! I don’t think imma win, at all... but hey, if I don’t play, I’ll 100% won’t win. I bought 5 tickets lol. They are $2 a piece. This is the first time I’ve ever played the lottery besides scratch off tickets. The location is a quick detour off the highway. The cashier was not wearing a mask, but he was behind the clear plastic screen, so I guess it makes it better ? 🤷♂️ Gas is $2.23 for regular, $2.83 for plus, and $3.03 doe V-Power Nitro”

“What a great place to come and relax. This cafe is super cute and fun! We came from Greensboro for my mothers birthday and we were met with a friendly staff and the best charcuterie brunch board. We got the full brunch board and it was so delicious. Perfect for four people. The waffles were fluffy yet crunchy and the fruit and bagels were perfect. Would highly recommend coming here for a little snack and relaxed ambiance.”

“Ordered a strawberry cheesecake for my boyfriend’s birthday today & I can truly say she exceeded every expectation. We’re originally from nyc & been here for a year, we’ve tried multiple places for cheesecakes but haven’t been able to find the right place. Almost out of hope, since my boyfriend only eats cheesecake I decided to give her a chance & I don’t regret it one bit. I’ll be back in 2 weeks for my birthday cake & everyone after. She has a customer in me. Thank you so much!”

“So firstly don't come here if you haven't checked out the menu first. Their food does have sugar sprinkled over a lot of their options, please know this up front. Although we weren't expecting it, we had an open mind and ended up liking everything we had. I liked the garlic soy chicken wings. The chicken wings did not have sugar. The snow fries were crispy and covered with powered cheese and what seemed like powdered sugar. The K Dog classic half and half was good, but next we may just order the classic mozza. It did have sugar sprinkled over it. I asked for the spicy mayo drizzle. Our friend ordered the avocado egg toast. It looked really good.”

“Well priced meat and they cut the steaks to the thickness we wanted. There were also freshly baked goods, a place to buy cooked foods and a small grocery area.”

“Wow, what an amazing experience, everything was as I expected, staff was very welcoming and prompt, loved the vibe and the ambience of the venue, staffs were courteous. For me ambience and service stole the show. Now comes the food, loved the aroma of the appetizers, well cooked and well presented, Gobi pakoda was the best, my wife and kids loved the chicken tangri momos. Loved the non alcoholic mocktails, kids loved the mango lassi. Calcutta chicken birayni and malai kofta was awesome. Overall a very pleasant dining experience . Loved the unique flavor added to the Indian cuisine. Super impressed with the hospitality of the owner Mr Philip chandarana . Will definitely recommend and will come back for more.”

“We came here on a Sunday morning and, since we weren't sure what time we were going to arrive, showed up without reservations. Pro tip: make reservations if possible. Fortunately for us, a party cancelled and we were able to get squeezed in. Which is great, because as we were waiting to hear from the staff about a table, we saw tray after tray of amazing food walk past and would have been highly disappointed if we had missed out! I ordered the chicken and waffles and, wow, it was amazing. It very well may be the best I've ever had. There was a little kick to it but it wasn't overpowering, and the honey was a great sweet touch. I added a side of grits and they were delicious! My wife got the avocado toast which looked like something out of a magazine or cooking show. She said it was good but not great and would probably order something else next time. The staff was very attentive and super flexible to be able to work us into their busy Sunday morning without a reservation. We can't wait to come back!”

“Server Hayden was amazing! She was even training and still had a smile on her face and was great at multitasking! The food was wonderful and fresh. I had the Buffalo chicken dip— it was spicy but not too much. My son had a kids meal and it was a good portion. My mom had two hotdogs and they were meaty and cooked well. The slaw was fresh also. The owner was very friendly. The atmosphere is cute and seems like a good time at night. We went right before 5pm. Will def be back!”

“Amazing food and service. Jeff was such a fantastic and charismatic server. The food was beyond expectations for a first visit. Had oysters to start. Omg. Loved it! For dinner, had a double order of the bacon wrapped scallops over a bed a rice pilaf and artichoke spinach and added a side of cavatapi Mac and cheese. SUPERB!!!”

“Solidly good Italian food at reasonable prices. We were a bit skeptical because Winston-Salem does not have a shortage of decent Italian restaurants. We went on a Wednesday night, and we’re the only ones in the restaurant, so we still had our doubts. But this also allowed the waiter to be attentive, and he was. We had a few decent wines by the glass and started with a meatball appetizer that was quite good and exceeded our expectations. The entrées were not on the same par as the meatballs, but still very good. My wife finished her octopus salad, and my gnocchi was completely consumed as well. We took a miss on dessert as there was only one flavor of gelato, and I wasn’t in the mood for strawberry. But we thought it would be worth going back. The rest of the experience at Roar is a little bit odd on a Wednesday night, but the place has a lot of potential. I will be curious to see it on a weekend evening.”
