“The food was pretty good. My fiance liked her gluten free bagel. The gravy I ordered with my biscuit wasn't anything special but it wasn't that expensive either. The biggest negative was our server. She was very rude and didn't smile at us one time. She was very unprofessional and even acted upset when we asked for lids for the coffee. I've honestly never had a waitress that so severely lacked emotional intelligence. We visited Saturday morning, 2/16/19. She was the red haired one. The dark haired one seemed nicer.”

“We came for lunch about 1pm. Had a fifteen minute wait. After we were seated there was a line outside of people waiting to get in. Had the aloha pizza and it was very good, lots of fresh flavor. I thought it was a bit salty until I realized that it was the country ham topping. Seemed a bit stingy with the toppings. The arugula salad and pickle plate were both awesome. Unusual fare and well done. Busy place. Great food”

However, I wanted to share the experience at The Local because it was truly exceptional. Our server was Art who was literally the best server I've ever had. Our entire group has been raving about him for days. I even looked at my boss today and said "HOW AWESOME WAS ART?!" (Art, you are amazing. I really hope that you're at The Local next time I'm in Boone. But if you're not there, I hope it's because you're off doing great things! You made our night and I've told everyone I know how much we appreciated the service!) The food and cocktails were also incredible! We went here twice during our few days in Boone. The food is all homemade, and the quality is amazing. Have you ever had a butter biscuit that was CRISPY on the outside, and didn’t crumble to bits?? You will here. Macaroni and cheese lover?? My man took one bite of the creamy, cheese-drenched shell noodles and said, “I think my mouth just climaxed.” The only thing I’d not recommend is the rice and gravy—nothing over which to write home. But the collards, pintos, homemade beats, Mac and cheese...so good. Catfish lightly breaded and generous portion. Try it. We’ll be back.”

“Great casual Italian restaurant in the heart of Boone. They do an excellent job combing a country mountain town feel with an Italian restaurant. The atmosphere is amazing and the separate area for the bar keeps it quieter in the dining area so it isn't impossible to hear when busy. The service is very attentive and quick, and the garlic knots are my favorite appetizer!”
