“A cool place, dance floor, pool tables. Clean, it is not a dive bar. Park at the pawn shop and walk over.”

“Covering a shift for a driver so he could have Christmas with family Daughter and I made a Christmas Eve night of work and planned to have a nice dinner somewhere. Well we waited to long and not much left to choose from. Came across this place and couldn't have been happier. Eclectic dive bar with GREAT Hawaiian food. Pork was delicious, the little pork tacos very good too. Daughter tried a few cocktails (I was driving :( ) which she also enjoyed. Great service, fun place!”

“I have been to Local 66 several times, and every time, I left happy. The first time was during Portland Mercury Wing Week 2018, where the smoky and sweet, but mildly spicy Marionberry Bourbon BBQ wings were easily one of my favorites of the eleven that I tried. On my second visit, I tried the Godfather (French dip) with steak fries and found it to be very satisfying. Another recent visit, I had the best club sandwich that I have ever had. What impressed me the most, however, was the exceptional service I received on each occasion from Tony.”

“The atmosphere is lively and the venue is contemporary. The servers are attentive. I love the menus where you can have a great burger, delicious soup, a thin crust pizza, salad and or a special entree. I loved the butternut squash soup and the mushroom!truffle ravioli! This is always one of my favorite places.”

“It's nice here. I never had a chance to go before the fire happened. They're rapidly expanding their menu and everything I've tried is great. In particular I recommend the PB & Bacon Burger. The peanut butter is more like a kinda spicy, Thai style peanut sauce, and the salty bacon and tart pickle really pull it together in a delicious way. As of writing this post, they still don't have taps, and a lot of their staff have a general air of confusion, so I can't give it 5 stars yet, but I look forward to seeing their growth and changing my score as they settle back in.”

“I went for lunch on a Thursday and was pleasantly surprised. For a self-proclaimed dive bar they had an excellent whiskey and craft beer selection. Nice atmosphere and a friendly bartender. She was also the cook, and did a great job of preparing my food, which was during a near as makes no difference all day happy hour. I will definitely be back next time I'm on Belmont.”

“Friendly patrons good service and excellent wings if you like crispy and sweet. Tasted a bit much like honey to me and not as spicy as I'd hoped. Felt a bit like a dive bar around happy hour but I enjoyed conversation with a regular even though it was my first time there. Made me feel very much at home while watching the big game. Music was discoish, very throwback, with no apologies. I liked it.”

“Fantastic vibe and food and live music at this cozy and stylishneighborhood tavern. Was a big fan of their pastas, vegetable dishes and wine and cocktails when Nonna was a restaurant.... now an event space is book in a second.”

“Hidden neighborhood gem! The Place is friendly, cozy, and offers a great selection of cider, beer, and wine. There's a ton of beautiful plants and comfy chairs up front that make for a super inviting spot to have a drink and read a book. Feeling more social? Pull up a chair at the bar and chat with the bartender and co-owner David. There is also a patio area out front with covered seating if you want to enjoy your drink with some fresh air.”

“Went here for my 21st, they don’t do birthday shots, drinks are a little pricy, but they fill them up really good with alcohol. Lots of friendly people, food is great, karaoke is fun, you might only get 1 song in, but the crowd is amazing. They have 2 areas for the bars. Wasn’t too crowded on Thursday night. 7:30 is the best time to get there for parking. Thanks for making my birthday worth it.????????????”

“Cheerful is a nice bar. Always a crowd favorite and I stopped in for a beer after years and it looks great. Updated, more spacious, and an overall fun place. Took a star off for the pool table not having 360° of play but nice touch with the slot machines and the safety breathalyzer. Always good service. I would recommend for happy hour and food. They also have dollar beer Thursdays since way back in the day.”

“I was born in Portland but have always lived in the suburbs and never really was a big bar scene person. I’m almost 30 years old and I’ve been pushing my introvert lifestyle boundaries and have been trying to do more in downtown Portland. I stopped by here with my wife and we had a blast! The atmosphere was fun and we did not feel awkward at all. The staff was really helpful and welcoming. Jared the bartender was really nice and I want to thank him for being super cool. The drinks were perfect and price for the drinks were very reasonable. The appetizers were great as well. We are definitely coming back! Thank you”

“Nice little neighborhood bar. Beer was cold, and the clam chowder was great. Service was top notch. Had the halibut and fry basket, and the wife had the fried oysters and fries. Both meals were perfect, and the fries were hot and fresh.”

“When you're hungry a place like this can be a blessing because it will definitely fill your stomach, but it might leave your taste buds wanting more. The service was fast and friendly and the food came out quickly, but everything tasted like it came out of a package and was quickly thrown on the grill. The eggs were rubbery, the sausage was Jimmy Dean quality, and while the biscuits and gravy were piled high, I've never had sausage gravy that was so devoid of sausage or flavor. It tasted like milk and flour and had a gooey consistency and really, if I'm going to blow my calorie limit for the day it better be for something tasty. I don't know if I would come back here, but it fills a niche, and for that, it's acceptable.”

“Big, clean rooms. They welcome pets, but charge extra. Also, they didn't note that we were bringing pets when we mentioned it when we made the reservations and had to tell them again when we checked in. Luckily, they weren't that booked and we got a ground floor room, because lugging all our luggage, kennels and the pets up to the 2nd or 3rd floor would have sucked. But it all worked out this time. The hotel is a bit dated and could use some freshening up. Some new paint and such could go a long way to make this a 5 star hotel.”

“Great place to stop for a drink! Dim lighting and relaxed ambiance. Amazing view of the river. Drinks were unique and well done. Nachos definitely satisfied a late night craving. Would certainly make an effort to visit again whenever in Astoria.”

“This building has such a strange and uncomfortable layout. Definitely not wheelchair accessible. There are stairs every couple of yards or so which I will always hate, no matter what. But otherwise the place has really grow on me. I love the staff and enjoy the food. It'll never be a give star fine dining experience but I really enjoy going there. The staff is so so so friendly - they're really the best.”

“Seems like an unassuming diner atmosphere when you walk in but wows you with the food. The sweet chili half chicken was great, the mashed potatoes were good, the gravy was just alright. Service was prompt and the waitress was on top of drinks before we needs more. The specialty drink menu looked great but I did not grab anything off of it this trip. The lounge in the back with couches looks like a chill place for some great conversation over drinks as well. Definitely will be back.”

“A reliable and efficient diner. You definitely get your bang for the buck here. Burgers are great! Baked goods are delicious! Only thing missing were a couple other lighter ideas. Altogether a nice stop to gear up before any adventure!”

“Love the atmosphere. People including the patrons were just having a great time. Monday 7.50 Burger N Brew can't be beat. Awesome. Derrick who works there is awesome. I always tell people to get me what they like, and they usually ask a million questions that I hate. But Derrick said he had me, and his choice did not disappoint. I'll be back more than you guys will even want me, ha. Great spot. So happy to have been there.”

“I have always loved this restaurant! The service is always fantastic, and you're never left wondering if you were forgotten. Our food was perfect; oysters on the half shell, salad, bread, two pasta dishes (mine had salmon in it, and it was very moist and flavorful). Cooked to perfection, and bursting with flavor. The ambiance is calm, clean and quiet in the dining cars. I have never had a disappointing experience here.”

“I'd give them 4 stars for their breakfast, but the bar scene isn't all that. The interior is poorly laid out with a wall of lottery machines separating the pool tables from the sitting area. There is a small dance floor at one end. There are 2 poorly maintained pool tables with limited space around them. This place needs a complete makeover & redesign to make it more welcoming & comfortable to patrons. The staff are nice & do a great job of serving a great selection of beer & alcohol. They serve a great tasting & reasonably priced breakfast.”
