“Was in town for a family reunion and a couple of us decided to go for a walk in the area. We stumbled in to Frank Day's and were greeted by both the patrons and the staff. Everyone was so friendly and kind. They gave us a tour of the place and told us about its long and interesting history. Frank Day's is by far one of the coolest bars I have ever been to 10/10 rating from me!”

“Had a wonderful breakfast. Tried the Trucker's Skillet with a pancake on the side. Everything was delicious. The cook made my eggs over medium as ordered so that was very nice. Service was fantastic. I'm a bit picky but they still had my food out and ready in 5 minutes, done just as I asked. Props to the whole crew for making my experience a great one!”

“Wonderful! It's a step back in time. Pure 1950s decor. Great food. No credit, no debit accepted and that is a good thing as it just wouldn't fit. I felt out of place getting my cell phone out. The newest thing in the place is the microwave - no power settings just a timer knob and start and door button. The view out the window is 80 years old. Perfect movie set.”

“There were not a lot of promising options on our road trip so we diverted a few miles to come here for lunch - it was one of our better decisions..! The food was absolutely delicious - specifically her Monte Cristo and my breakfast sandwich (sausage + tater tots).. also dessert was a fantastic splurge, too - the chocolate caramel lava cake was perfect! The service was even better than the food if possible. It's a family operation and the pride that they take in their work is exemplary..! If you are anywhere close to here - it is worth the drive and highly recommended..!”

“We stopped at Bob's on Monday evening while passing through town. It's outing the country with not much around so we were happy to find it. It's a nice restaurant and bar overlooking Lake Oahe. Spectacular views from the dining room. I ordered Chislic Steak and my wife got the scallops. Both meals were great. The service was very good. There was a pretty good crowd but the young lady that served everyone was very efficient. If you are in the area, we recommend.”

“Grap's had a good selection of beer on tap, and the burger I had was really great. I had the "Woody" burger and it was tasty, and the beef patty was excellent. The fries were delicious and crispy. I also tried the crab Rangoon appetizer and it was delicious as well. Service was fast and friendly. Prices were very reasonable. I'll definitely stop back next time I'm in the area.”

“Stopped in for a bite during Rally. They had the requisite Rally menu but my partner wanted the walleye. They broiled it special just for him. He's a charmer so maybe that's why, but I think they like to keep the customers happy whenever they can. Both our meals were very good. I had the cran apple salad which really hit the spot for me. “After reading some of the negative reviews on here I ended up staying the night. It was inexpensive and on my way into the black hills, was going to camp but it was rainy and chilly so I stopped for the night. I did not experience any negative like some people complaining about. The two ladies working were friendly and chatty. Especially the new gal that just started! Room wasn’t top notch but hey for a room under $40 I’m no complaining. Was a pretty quiet stay, room size was prefect for a single person. The only complaint is the bed. Way too soft for me but I’m used to a firm bed. The town was awesome! Worth walking the city and heading up to the cemetery if your up for a nice hike up the hill. Thanks ladies for the great evening.”

“Had an excellent meal here this morning. Coffee was good and the waitress was very good at keeping my cup full. The meal was exactly what I hoped for and was under $20. Lots of other places in the world now you cannot even eat there for less than $20. The most significant thing that I will note about this restaurant is the fact that it is very clean, tidy, and well kept. From the dining area to the washroom it is very clear someone has taken a great deal of pride in the upkeep of this establishment. Very comforting to see this these days. I will absolutely be stopping here next time that I am through Newell.”

“Stopped in to check out the place since we haven’t been here in about 8 years. Enjoyed buffet supper and checked out the pool. Despite the heat it was pretty quiet there! Want some things at the store? Nice they aren’t gouging people and had reasonable prices on necessities like laundry soap, shampoo and conditioner. Facilities and bathrooms are clean very impressed as it was one of the cleanest we’ve been to throughout our stay around Sturgis the last 10 days. And our group came to the conclusion that next time we be booking in here as they appeared, organized, clean, and tidy.”

Constantly picking up trash, garage canvas available everywhere. Many food and shopping vendors open all day. Tattoo shop and steakhouse. Plenty of 50 amp RV camping. You gotta stay here!”
