The wait staff was pleasant but our visit was nearly two hours long - our group of 6 got cocktails (made by the bartender), ordered off the menu, and did not get any desserts. There were multiple waitstaff around and only about 8 tables being utilized - we still felt a little neglected by our server and had to wave her down a few times to get her attention. The building itself is beautiful and a great place for a little "fancier" fare, but you definitely need to take the time into consideration. If you're looking for a pleasant dining experience in a pretty setting and with a more "gourmet" feel, and you don't mind waiting for a while, it's great!”

“My wife and I visited Galveston for a week for our honeymoon. West End Marina was one of the restaurants we were fortunate enough to eat at during our honeymoon. I think we came here everyday we were in Galveston. The food is delicious the drinks are strong and the service is excellent. Granted, as with all things in Galveston on the beach, their products are a little higher than you would find in town. That said, for the view and the company, I would hardly complain. If you are in the area definitely visit West End Marina.”

“Small quaint restaurant across the street from the ocean. Good views of the water and the pier. Shrimp and grits were outstanding. Creamy grits with a great sauce. Shrimp were cooked perfectly. The stacked fish platter???, hope that's correct, had a mushroom risotto that was very good but was lacking salt for our taste. Generally speaking the food was great. The kitchen was in the weeds and the wait was a little longer than what we would have like for our food. None the less it was still great. While we did not order desert, we did see several bread puddings go out and it looked amazing. Every plate was returned empty. Good food casual atmosphere and the server was prompt but not familiar. We enjoyed our time here.”

“Food was amazing- but the beef (which was really good too) was not the star as much as the pork (which my son gobbled down so quick we missed it for ourselves) delicious sausage and cooked to melt in your mouth perfection ribs. Loaded deluxe beef potato amazing as was the Mac and cheese. Great intro to Galveston from California folk. Awaiting dessert to take back to hotel!! Highly recommended. Tried giving 4.8 stars but app wouldn’t let me partial start it. Customer service was polite and helpful. Would definitely come again.”

“That place you must experience at least once in Galveston and hopefully you do. I got to say forget all those other seafood places you see advertised all over Galveston for seafood. This is the one you're looking for. They must be doing something right if they've been there since 1911 that tells you something. It was like stepping back in time to a place in time where they do everything right. I'm looking for the words to express how good the experience was here. I guess I'll put it this way I don't know how they could have made everything and anything go better for us. The wait staff was incredible and after talking to a few of them a lot of them had been working there over 30 years and some much longer. The restaurant has a great feel and is decorated beautifully and what they offer on the menu there's something for everybody. We definitely ordered more than we should have and everything we had was so good. It was one of the best dining experiences me and my group have ever had. not only did we not have to ask for anything it was already brought to the table and provided their attention to detail was incredible. So I'll put it to you this way one of the most memorable and wonderful dining experiences of my life. Hope to make it back there someday definitely will keep it in mind for an anniversary or special occasion.”

“Came here with the wife on a little vacation to the gulf. The pizza was absolutely bomb, we just had a basic pepperoni that was insanely good.
