“Wondering why there aren’t more reviews and pics, we went to check it out ourselves and were pleasantly surprised. Went here for lunch during the week, but the place was not very busy and dining area was pretty small. Server was very kind and attentive, and we noticed only 1 lady cook preparing our food to order. Complimentary homemade chips & salsa that were brought out were “a good spicy.” We ordered chilaquiles with pollo, tacos (flour tortillas were handmade,) gordita, and tacos dorados de papa. We also ordered guacamole (which we believe needed a bit of lime & salt- which we added) and some churros! The mini churros were warm and delicious with a cajeta filling. Agua de Jamaica was on point, too. If you’re looking for more authentic homemade food- this is your place! We’ll be back soon.”

“After reading the reviews, I went into this Chipotle having very low expectations but the visit was actually pretty good. The portions were equivalent with other Chipotles that I frequent (about full spoon of meat and a few extra pieces). What did stand out was the right amount of salt on one the chips, sometimes the chips are salty but the location got it right. I will definitely be visiting again. The staff is new so you might have to repeat your order or provide additional instructions.”

“Great new spot opened at the valero I noticed they were not on Google and added them and phone number to help small growing buisness and got me a order of 1 Gordita de fajita 1 taco de pastor and 1 Gordita de chicarron. Overall delicious. Lady was super nice and fast friendly service and they do allow card purchases for those wondering. My total was 16 dollars and I also got a large agua de Pina Fresca it was good made with real piña you can taste the pulp and not as sweet very authentic. I wish them nothing but success and will definitely be coming back I'm not sure if the hours of buisness is correct I will ask and update hours later. I highly recommend. Every hand made tortillas and green salsa was good amount of spice”

“Simple but impressive flavor. My server Sophia was excellent, she didn’t bombard me every 5 min to see if I was “enjoying my food” but brought me everything in a timely manner. I had the amber ramen with a side of miso chili paste that added a nice kick. The fried pork gyoza and the brussel sprout salad were amazing. Definitely coming back. “I do service work in Mexican restaurants all over the area. I can tell you the good ones, the bad ones, and the great ones. This place is fantastic! Relaxed, friendly atmosphere with a warm and engaging staff. They genuinely make you feel right at home. The food is always fresh, served promptly, and delicious. I can't decide if I like the tamales or beef enchiladas best, so I get them both. It's my belief that if a restaurant can't do the small stuff right, nothing else is gonna be right. So the beans and rice are always a good indication of how the rest will be. Their beans and rice are perfectly done. The chili sauce is awesome as well. I have eaten here numerous times. I always leave so full that I can barely move. The mark of a good Mexican restaurant if you ask me. I plan to eat here for many years to come. Stop in and try em out. You will be glad you did. “This is a place worth taco-ing about here in Jersey Village/Steeplechase. And wow, the tortillas really make it so good. We ordered 3 tacos with pastor. Moist. Juicy. Flavorful. And oh that burrito! It was beef, beans, guac, cheese and rice loaded up! I haven't seen a big one like that since being in California. Such a throwback to the old Mexican street vendors or the mom and pop stores. Do yourself a favor and try a Gordita before they're gone. Carmen (one of the food truck workers taking orders) says that they make 40 Gorditas every other day. They make their tortillas from scratch! I would come back here in a heartbeat. So good!”

“So... While dealing with some small, not so hectic drama... We stop here at Shipley's... And thankfully they were open. Takk about a happy morning. And guess what...there was no line. Which is even more fabulous. Now, because we were early... They did not have the everything variety. So, no long john's (which are my faves) no bear claws (Jason's faves), no Bavarian cream (mine and Drew's faves), but they had all if Kat's faves... She was the happiest camper out of all of us... Oh, when we got out glazed only donuts...they weren't warm...which...ugh .. those are the best... Well, and a warm apple fritter (another fave of mine...no they didnt have out yet) so, next time .. maybe showing up 30 min later... Then i can maybe have a wonderful happy morning... “Nice local bar. I ordered chips and salsa then some carne asada tacos, they were small but good. The salsas they give you are delicious and spicy by the way. Drinks were good. I ordered a mango margarita on the rocks. They have enough servers during peak times, attention was good. Plenty of parking outside, plenty of seating inside, and small patio for smokers. Single one toilet restrooms, you have to wait in line to use it during busy times. Overall good experience.”
