“This place was decent. I got a personal pizza since I cannot eat dairy and everyone else in my family can. It is nice to be able to eat a dairy free pizza but my pizza was cut into 4 slices and one entire slice had no toppings because there was a bubble in the dough. Being that they specialize in pizza, you would think they would look for and pop the bubbles as the pizza cooks.”

“Honestly, of all the CW restaurants, this is my favorite. Food was excellent. Service was great. And the view from the patio is nice.”

“A very nice place to eat. Their food is top-notch, as is their service and quality. Their Sunday brunch is so great; must try the biscuits and gravy. The omelette station needs slightly better cooking equipment to keep up with the waitlist, but the selection is great. They practically know us by name there now.”

“I have eaten here several times over the years. between this visit and the last time I've eaten there it's been about a year and a half since I have chosen another favorite restaurant during that time. Going back here, was like going home again. Nothing has changed. The menu, the atmosphere, the seating arrangements and so forth. The food is still excellent is always and of course I will be going back.”

“Olin, Guest Service Manager made our Sweet Tea and Barley experiences the best! The food was great but his attention detail was beyond all expectations!! Highly recommend.”

“Absolutely amazing place. Family was on the road all day and went to the park. We arrived at Ricks 10 minutes before they closed. BUT YOU COULDNT TELL... Gram was extra patient and accommodating. The food was excellent. Even though I’m sure they was ready to close and go home me and my family could never tell. We were welcomed and fed great. A place I will always visit when I’m in the area... thanks Rick”

“Restaurant with a large bar area and an outside covered patio (enclosed on three sides and open to the street, has a big screen TV in patio area). Relaxed, comfortable, and welcoming atmosphere. Any attire is appropriate, dress up or dress down, wear what you want. The food is amazing! They hand-make everything from scratch in their kitchen, right down to the tasty crackers! We went there twice. For appetizers we tried: the ham board (overflowing with 2 types of ham, 3 biscuits, pickled onions, pickled tomatoes, pickles, giant crackers, bacon jam, and pimento cheese - all tasted great), meatballs (2 medium meatballs on a plate of cheesy risotto, really delicious and filling), fried oysters (perfection but on the spicy side). I also had the duck, which was amazing! Great selection of craft beer, Virginia wine, some ciders. Their cocktail menu is awesome! They don't go overboard with the bitters like some places do, and they use fresh cut herbs/spices to add to the perfect flavor of each drink. The people there are friendly, quick, and helpful. 10 out of 10, will go back, and strongly recommend!”

“It says Bar and Grill on the sign. I am starving. Late for lunch, early for dinner. So in we go. The food was way beyond a Bar and Grill. We had shrimp cocktail, crab cakes, and pot pie. So good. Like everything else in Williamsburg, pricing is higher than I am used to here in the Midwest. Great service, wonderful atmosphere. Go here.”

“Overall the food was good. This is a “greasy” retro diner type of place. If you’re in the mood for some junk food this is the place. You aren’t finding anything healthy here. The burgers we good and kids loved the fried pickles. The milkshakes were great.”

“The food is truly excellent. Miranda really did a good job. steak of the day was perfect, as was dessert, and wine. The manager told me they take pride in their food and service, and I can’t find any fault in that. Really happy I went here.”

“My wife and I had lunch at La Yaca a few days ago and it was simply marvelous. Our server promptly appeared within 10 seconds of our seating and was very pleasant and professional. In fact, the only rude people in the room were some of the other patrons. Too bad. Anyway, the lunch was appropriately portioned and exquisitely prepared-a gourmet treat. Some may whine about the price--get over it! You get what you pay for. Elegant, fine dining such as this in a relaxed European atmosphere is worth every penny. We will certainly pay La Yaca another visit soon.”

“I had 3 teenage girls looking for something to do. I did not think they would enjoy themselves however they had a blast I was very satisfied with the fun they had. I actually tried the games with them and had a great time. 4 stars for 2 reasons. We had to rent a set of golf clubs for $10 which was not a bad price but I would have been satisfied with getting 3 clubs and a putter. We used the clubs for about 15 minutes. Also the food was a little pricey. Next time we will eat elsewhere first. Wanting to feed 3 teens made the entire process a little expensive. With that said I will recommend this place to everyone. I will bring family and friends and will guarantee them they will have a great time. I will eat before going and maybe just ordering drinks. Overall love this place and will return and our waitress was great sorry I don't remember her name.”

“Excellent food and service with a pleasant environment. Particularly appreciated the wine steward informing us that the cellar no longer had the year of Opus One we had ordered (thus giving us a chance to pick another bottle or accept the year available). This is our 3rd visit--all were great experiences.”

“We celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary here. 1966. Celebrated our 50th. Dine here on each return. The food is tasty the ale hits the historic spot and the ambiance takes one back 200 years. Located on Duke of Gloucester Street midway between the Capitol and Courthouse it was a perfect spot to discuss politics over a pint.”

“This place was the most amazing tavern! Family friendly with a fantastic colonial atmosphere! All the workers were dressed as they would back in that time. Food was the best food I have ever eaten in Williamsburg! And they even have there own made root beer!”

“Stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday. Not crowded. Nice atmosphere and good music. Great service. Server answered all our questions. Food was amazing. I had the taco sampler (pulled pork, chicken, and brisket). Cornbread is awesome. Melts in your mouth. Will definitely come back when in the area.”

“The history of the place was really appealing. Not only does the wait staff provide excellent service but they include humor, history and a bit of story telling. The entire front of the house staff is dressed in attire from the colonial age so it would seem and while you dine you are serenaded by a violinist playing music from the same period. The food was great, wine even better. Anyone looking to be wined and dined with a history lesson should highly consider this tavern!”

“We had a wonderful time here. The food was good and the service and experience were excellent. We highly recommend a visit. Our server was "Pooh" who said she had been there for 20-30 years I believe. I don't see how that's possible given her youthful appearance but she clearly was very experienced with staying in character for the time period and taking care of us.”
