“Great place. Kids enjoyed the rope course and arcade as we waited. Whoever’s idea it was to put a bar in the arcade is a genius. Makes the arcade scene much more tolerable for parents like myself with wild children. As far as dinner goes, I rated 4 stars because my fish tacos were not that good, however, I sampled the fried shrimp and shrimp n grits that were at my table and they were amazing!!!! Our booth was on the water and we enjoyed seeing the otters swim by as well. Will definitely return, will just order something different next time. Great service as well.”

“Went today for the first time and the guy at the window was super nice. He told me how this place was his grandmother’s and honestly it didn’t disappoint. The sides were quite yummy( I highly recommend the beans). The sliced brisket was so tender and apparently the smoked sausage was equally tasty , my husband didn’t say much while eating!! We will be back , food and customer service was outstanding!!!”

“From my time living in the apartments here over a year ago the service in this restaurant is frequently slow. I believe the food prices are fair and the food quality is above average, but the drink prices are a little high. Very convenient if you live nearby, but consider calling well in advance if you are in any kind of rush.”

“I really want to give this place 5 stars. The first couple of times I ate here, it was great. Tonight, not so much. It’s an unorganized mess and it starts at the host/hostess stand. Truthfully, I think the owner/host keeps them from being truly great. He has a hard time keeping up with the parties/names while doing other things and people are standing in line for 5-10 minutes just to put their name on the wait list. And tonight, he skipped over a large party completely. Once they finally got to their table (after being skipped and waiting for over 2 hours) the chef never came out to cook their food, so they all walked out. They happened to be the table next to us. And it wasn’t much better where we were sitting. We got to the restaurant a little after 6 and we didn’t leave until 9:00. And even after 3 hours, they still charged us the extra $3 each for the rice. Pretty disappointing to say the least.”

“Friendly service. Very fresh and delicious food. Good bread sticks. I had the cheese ravioli with alfrado sauce. Lots of sauce which I like. Side salad was pretty big too. I would eat here again if I lived near there.”

“I had a good time at this restaurant. The atmosphere was nice and casual. The service was good. The food was good not great. I had Caribbean Shrimp Kabobs and Fried Crab Claws as an appetizer. I felt some of the prices were a little higher than I would like but it was still affordable. Overall no real complaints about this place.”

“Dinner at the The Drunken Shrimp tonight was simply awesome. I had the shrimp and oysters. They were divine! Hubby had the crab claws and said they were perfection. Service was impeccable. Atmosphere was fun and relaxing. Would give them ten stars if I could!!!!!”

“One of the best Domino's I've visited. The staff is beyond kind and clearly love their jobs even during tenuous hours. Its a fantastic breath of fresh air from the Foley store. Rafael is the man, great customer service and makes great pizza.”

“Tried this on a family vacation. I was a little apprehensive at first because it didn’t really look like a restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was good, my daughters loved the shrimp and my son was able to get chicken tenders (he doesn’t care much for seafood). The prices are a little high and I never did get a refill on my drink. The waiter was really nice and did a good job. Not a bad experience. Not sure if I’ll go back because of the prices but it is the beach and the seafood is fresh.”

“Our server was awesome and put up with us asking to move outside half way through our meal. I can't remember her name but we appreciated her service! The food was good. We had the calamari and fried alligator for an app, a pony burger and a famous sourdough cheese burger. Super delicious. The sauce with the alligator was amazing!”

“I would rate a two or three. My family who ordered sea food said it was good but places like Docs is better and more fresh. I got the steak tips and was disappointed. It came in a mixture of peppers and onions which was not on the menu description. Thankfully I don’t mind that stuff but it made it taste more like something you can get from Panda Express For $10 VS $19. I would not order again. I only got about 11 pieces of steak. It was mainly onions. If you are going to spend the money on steak wait for somewhere else. They also don’t have many drink options from small children. The staff was nice I just expected more for the prices. But again, my family that had sea food said it was good. They just enjoyed other local spots better for the price you pay.”

“Hog Wild is our number one favorite place in Gulf Shores. The barbecue is amazing and we are in love with the Alabama white sauce. Almost hate to share this review because other people will discover the secret, but when we spend a week down here we don't go once but twice. First, on the long drive down, Hog Wild is the destination, and then we go again later in the week, it's that good!”

“Picnic Beach is a nice casual spot with delicious food. I personally prefer their brunch menu but the lunch menu is still great.Out of the two times I've dined at this spot, the service is hit or miss. Our brunch server was incredible and attentive. The second time I was here, the lunch server we had was terrible and ignored our table after we ordered and had to ask other staff members to top off our coffee and get our check.”

“The slowest! I really can't believe I waited 25 minutes to get a late lunch. Their dining area isn't open from the covid19 pandemic so business should be quicker than normal. You have less to tend to w.o.a dining area. Thanks to the young ladies for being so nice. They need some help.”

“Second time to eat here, first was November 2019. Food was amazing! Pork belly made my impatient father understand that good food is slow food. Oysters were amazing just as the were last fall. We love this local jem, and the bartender and chef. The young lady that is the bartender/everthing is so sweet and happy no matter how busy they get. Yeah they get busy and the kitchen can get backed up... so what it is a mom and pop at its best and shouldn't change. As long as the Royal Oyster is open we will eat here every time we visit gulf shores.”

“Wonderful experience with our kids! They were very cheerful while serving us. They were patient with our kids. They encouraged us to try as many flavors as we wanted. The frozen treats were delicious and overall it was an excellent time. I recommend the shaved iced with the custard on top!”

“Great, traditional American breakfast place. Seems like the most popular breakfast place on the island. Service was good considering how busy they were (on a weekend, specifically). All of the employee's were really friendly. Really enjoyed the chocolate chip pancakes, bacon, and eggs. Loved that the menu was on a newspaper with a real article included from the 1960's or 1950's time (can't remember exactly what year our article was from). Made you feel more immersed in the theme they have going on. Would go back again when I am wanting a heavy, traditional American breakfast”

“Overall it was a fun place and kid friendly. Definitely a cruise ship vibe... good fun for tourists. I doubt locals go much if at all. The food was good, but pricey for what it is. You’re paying for the atmosphere/entertainment. I liked the whiskey mule I got. The “extra shot” is only about half a test tube’s worth, though (that’s what it comes in). Our server was nice but I felt like she really rushed to get us up and out likely because they do the same act every hour. They had live music outside which was nice. One thing that really bothered me was they would not give us a cup of water outside without more $$$. Refused. $1.50 bottle, or small plastic cup with a sip for $1.50. I know that seems petty, but we had just spent over $100 on our meal for 4 inside and then also bought a few drinks outside for even more money. Just wanted a small cup. It just made it even more obvious how much of a money grab the place is. Go in with the mindset of amusement park and take your own water.”

“This is a fantastic place to eat. But most of all, we loved our waiter Stephen. Super funny guy who relates to people through where they are from. We really enjoyed talking to him. He was fun, but also, he was super efficient and attentive. We had stuffed shrimp, fried green tomatoes, salad bars with our meals, and chicken fingers for the picky eater (me). The wait was super long at dinner, but we didn’t have to wait at lunch time. Highly recommend.”

“First time there, went on a friend's suggestion. Place was packed, we went on wrong door (sign said see hostess at other door). 4 folks already waiting at the 'other door.' But, just waited a couple of minutes, host arrived, quickly seated the other folks then us. Waitress Christie was quick with our cold beer, then the raw oysters, dinner also followed quickly. Cocktail sauce already contained horse radish, but they brought more for customization. Raw were great, also had the spicy Cajun baked oysters and stuffed mushrooms. No complaints for quality OR quantity! This spot will now be in our regular beach vacay dining rotation!!”

“Stopped by for lunch since we like to try the local fare while traveling. Immediately greeted with a warm welcome. Sat at the bar which turned out to be a bonus. We had a front row seat to watch the staff operate as a team to provide exceptional service. My wife had the shrimp and grits which was the best ever. Tasty and plentiful. I had the boiled shrimp which lived up to its top billing. Summary - The combination of service and quality was so good that we came back later that evening for an encore? Highly recommend.”

“Stopped by on a windy Thursday for lunch with a group of 6. The restaurant was nice and clean, the staff were wonderful, the service was fast, and the pizza was delicious! They had plenty of space for our group to split up between two tables. No complaints, it hit the spot!”

“As we travel we like to go to places that locals hang out and we found it. We actually went in to play pool. They had the table but it was small and crowded. That was okay the waiter and waitress we had were awesome. We just got an appetizer of some sort of chips. They were actually warm and very good. There was live music at the time which wasn't the worst I have heard. It is typical of a local place. I liked the atmosphere, even though they were busy. Usually that means good food and great customer service. The locals know were to hang. When we get back to town we will know where to go.”

“The steamer restaurant is a great place to stop for excellent Oysters Rockefeller, baked clams, smoked tuna dip and so much more on the menu. Not a high class expensive place just great food good prices and excellent service. Ask for a server by the name of Desiree she was definitely the best! Clean restrooms clean environment and a nice patio area to dine in the ocean breeze. They would have gotten five stars but they charge $0.25 for chips to go with does smoked tuna dip which I thought was a little tacky but don't let that stop you it's still a good place!”

“Gumbo was thick and rich. Broiled seafood dinner had flounder Almaden, scallops, and shrimp. Every bite was delicious, fresh, and hot. Sides were served hot and homemade. The wait staff were a joy and made the whole evening a memorable experience. I would highly recommend using the yelp option of joining the wait list when you are on your way. Saved us at least a 30 minute wait.”
