“Literally having to write this review before i eat because it’s sooooo good! I had Otoro Hibachi in Hoover once before and it wasn’t very memorable. This location, however, is doing everything right! My boyfriend and I dined in this last sunday and everything was amazing. The calamari was light and crispy, not rubbery and overcooked, breading was seasoned just right. Our crab rangoons had so much filling, they were delightful. Our chicken and steak bento boxes had great portions. The lady at the register was very pleasant. I was so pleased with the food and service, i decided to order on uber eats to see if i would receive the same quality. This time i ordered the same things, plus noodles for my toddler, as well. I am happy to say this meal is just as amazing. I received my extra sauces and my special request for “no edamame, extra veggies” on my bento box was honored. I am so glad this place has come to Homewood! I will say this, in regards to another review i read, don’t expect hibachi steakhouse quality when you are not paying hibachi steak house prices. $11 for a chicken bento box is a great deal for great, quick food!”

“1st time stop. A very nice Server started out with salsa and chips then I ordered a Mexi burger and tried the street chicken taco. Very good salsa burger and street toco. Will come back again and try something else on menu. Prices were fair. Seemed a little odd to be eating at lunch time and I was the only one in place. Of note, the place is inside the Red Sea Ethiopian restaurant and we could not see the restaurant name ‘Biryani Bowl’ anywhere on reaching the location. “No half-star selections but I'm really giving Maple street a 2.5 or so. Not because it was bad, it just wasn't good. Service was great, Hot Maple Vanilla Bean Latte was really good as well. Greatness stopped there for me, during my recent visit. Duped again by Birmingham's hype of new place to eat. One could argue, "surely you ordered the wrong thing". Well, what would be the good items? Between my wife and I, we had 'The Farmer', 'The Five', 'Three Layer Cake' and a side of grits. Apple Butter of 'The Farmer' was tasty, and so was the sausage gravy found on 'The Five'. The rest just left much to be desired for some reason. The fried chicken tasted... just like fried chicken. Chicken + flour, done. Cooked well but didn't taste like anything at all. The grits are described as "Stone-ground white hominy grits, cut with cream cheese & butter". Cream cheese and butter? Where? Also flavorless. Certainly at least a few of these 5-star reviews came from someone who was born and raised in the south right?! Oh yeah... the biscuits. They're fine. Again, we didn't find it to be bad, just not good. Great service and good coffee gets the rounding up to 3 stars.”

“I finally gave this place a try. I must say it was Very Delicious!! Anna took our order, recommending to us the Hero Burger. I chose the double with fries. The burger was very delicious, from the tasty sauce as well as presentation. I loved the fries, as I believed they were seasoned well. Although my brother thought they were a tad salty. I also got the sweet tea, which was excellent!! Although I didn’t have room at the time, I purchased a couple donuts to go. The Blueberry Crumble and Coconut. They tasted wonderfully and seemed of a rather light dough than what I’m used to. Not bad just different. I’ll definitely be returning, to try the other yummy menu options. Come early while the donut selection is fresh. The outside appearance was very welcoming and inside was clean & comforting.”

“Nabeel's has been established for a long time. Their specialty is Greek food. The restaurant is unpretentious with wooden booths that that have seen many patrons and cushions that need replacing. There are small plaques with people's names that are screwed to the wall in each booth. That said, the food is very good. The feta cheese in their Greek salad was lovely. I am not a fan of feta so that is a big compliment. It wasn't salty and crumbly but almost a creamy texture and a flavor that added to the salad instead of taking over the whole show. I had the gyro with fried pita chips. This is a very meaty wrap and yummy. Hubby had the pastitsio. He declared it good and wished for more. We went at lunch so the serving size was small. Service was casual but attentive.”
