“We stayed the night in Cortez and read reviews to find a decent place for coffee in the morning. This was a fantastic find. The baristas were very friendly and service was quick. We ordered two 24-oz hot vanilla lattes with 4 shots of espresso. Even with the four shots, the taste was very smooth and pleasant, but not very espresso-y, so I'd probably add another shot next time, as I enjoyed the taste, but like the flavor of espresso too. A bonus chocolate covered espresso bean was a nice little extra. The price was reasonable.”

“5 star strictly on Food, totally worth a try!! The place obviously needs work but the service and food are great! The pizza was hot and very tasty! There is no place inside to sit, so car it is! We parked right up front for about 25 mins while we ate and saw many people who ordered carry-out and delivery! The store is 24/7, I'm not sure if the pizza is as well.”

“This is a fast service truck stop like place with huge servings! We stopped for breakfast on weekend and they were very busy, but even when there's a line out the door, you'll still get a seat within minutes. Service was excellent for that many people in a small place. My omelet was great, made to order, and prices were low. I'll be back!”

“I typically do not eat fast food but since Burger King changed their burger recipe and started serving what at least appears to be real beef instead of that pink slime disaster from a decade before I really like their food. Granted, I only eat a double Whopper plain with cheese so I have no idea what their other food taste like anymore but that is a really good burger. McDonald's has gone out of their way to shrink the size of their burger while still increasing the cost of a double quarter pounder to $9 by itself. That's how much the Burger King Burger cost, but it's a much larger item. I never thought I'd say this but bravo to Burger king.”

“Great prices, great location, friendly and fast service a d delicious food! The menu is expansive, with lots of options for breakfast and lunch, and everything is very fairly priced. We all had breakfast, and everything was tasty and fresh. I especially enjoyed the home fries and sautéed veggies, which were cooked and seasoned perfectly! Definitely a great place to stop!”

“A really nice place to stop off for breakfast. Super quick and attentive staff. The menu is a decent size. You step up into the restaurant (they do have outside seating) with plenty of tables and a long counter you are quickly greeted and sat. They asked for the drinks as they were setting up the table (menus, silverware). They take your order and the food arrives fairly quick and they make the rounds asking for coffee refills. The food was excellent the staff was great super friendly. As an out-of-towner I would totally recommend this place.”

“I got the brisket grilled cheese sandwich with a side of cheesy potatoes. Absolutely incredible. I could only eat half of it, and had to get the rest to go. The service was good at lunch time. The young lady serving was delightful, friendly, and very attentive. The atmosphere was somewhat quiet and seemed kind of sparse, but it felt clean and well maintained. Prices weren't bad for the amount of food (especially how much meat was on the sandwich). Though, the mac-n-cheese seemed a little high. However, I did not order mac-n-cheese, so it may have been a massive serving of it. Overall, I would definitely go again.”

“We stopped in for lunch for my family of 5 after seeing the menu online. Unfortunately, they were out of the meal I went there for (which happens at "fresh" restaurants), but I easily found something else! The service was very friendly and fast, and the food was fresh and tasty. My kids had burgers, which were pretty good, though not the best they've ever had. I ordered the house made black bean burger, which was out if this world delicious, especially for a bean burger! I also had the fried zucchini salad, which was good, especially the dressing. The fries were super good! I also really enjoyed the ambiance of the place, and the prices were very fair for the quality of food. Overall, we recommend giving this local spot a try!”

“Passing through town at lunchtime looking for something healthier we decided to try this little place. Everything was great! All the adults ordered the turkey BLT croissant and potato salad. It was delicious! Kids had burgers with bacon added. They were kid friendly dishes, burgers cut into 4, served with fries, watermelon slice and carrots. Service was quick and friendly. Would definitely stop here again! Forgot to take pictures of the food before we ate 😃”

“We happened across this place by accident and we are so glad we did! For a state who doesn’t touch the ocean- this fish tasted super fresh. The service was incredibly fast and their appetizers were delicious too!”

“Absolutely amazing taste with some very relaxed employees. The service is truly something to behold, and the staff are extremely friendly. Tons of options on the menu, so you'll get a great variety no matter what. The food is excellent, and it's some of the best I've had. Extremely family friendly, but also great for large parties. Bathrooms are extremely clean, and furniture is comfortable. I found myself stuffed after eating here, and will definitely be going here again soon.”

“Having first encountered WildEdge's offerings at a bar in Telluride, I was antsy to make the trek to Cortez to sample more of what they brewed. The taproom is quiet, relaxed and full of mountain scenery/pictures. The small patio out front offers more seating in a pristine setting, somewhat reminiscent of a city cafe. The beers are absolutely amazing. Selections run the gamut from sours, to IPA's to the occasional darker porter & stout. Don't be fooled though, WildEdge's forte are sours and bottle-conditioned. Ava they do it right. I know Cortez is a long way from pretty much everywhere, but once here, it's the ONLY place to sit, relax and sip the hours away.”

“We stopped here for lunch on a Sunday. The place was very quiet and our service was quick. The food was excellent. I had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich, the pork was moist and tender and the chibatta bread bun went excellent with it. The BBQ sauce was sweet and tangy. When in the area I will definitely stop by here again.”

“Awesome food! We were really pleasantly surprised. On a 6 state road trip, this was by far the best breakfast, and the second best meal overall, as voted by my whole family. The chicken fried steak was perfect, the cinnamon rolls are ridiculously big (think whole dinner plate) the hash browns were crispy. And the waitress was very friendly.”

“Excellent little place! It's a big place! Looks like they have karaoke and lots of space to dance or space for a band. Food is fabulous! I recommend it for sure!”

“Stopped in for dinner while passing through town based on the great reviews. They weren't wrong. We ordered beef fajitas to share and they were pretty good. The seasoning was on point although the cut of meat wasn't the best. There were several pieces with grissel / fat, but other than that, the meal was good. The tortillas were hot as fire and delicious, they tasted fresh! The salsa had a wonderful flavor but was too "fresh" for me - chopped onions, chives, cilantro - I like more of a cooked or pureed salsa. The staff was very friendly and even though we walked in at 8:15pm they treated us perfectly (closed at 9pm) and we were out of there by 8:55. We would definitely recommend and return 😋”

“Food and a show. The Chinese is fantastic, fresh fast and delicious, we ate there. I can't emphasize enough how fresh the food is. For the show...the owner is a character...she yucks it up with the customers...she was kinda funny...opinion...I think the food was really reasonably priced...comparatively...I've seen chinese food cost way more and gotten way less...”

“Amazing! Very good food, delicious with great service. Everything is fresh. The food looks better than the pictures. They bring chips and salsa as you are seated. We tried house guacamole, steak fajitas and fish tacos. Everything was so good. Fish tacos were grilled and served on hot tortillas. Steak on fajitas was greatly seasoned. Highly recommended.”

“Super fun and nostalgic drive in! I've been told it's one of the oldest restaurants in Cortez. When you pull in you can pull into a numbered slot. Or you can park and walk up to the few tables they have. After pulling in, someone will come to your car (there is no button you push, you just pull in. Someone will come and take your order as soon as possible. Timing is everything. Lol. I went right at noon. It was very busy but my order was taken in a timely fashion. As a rookie visitor I had questions, the car hop/waitress was very friendly and she answered all of my questions without making me feel dumb. I ordered their "shroomster" - mushroom and Swiss burger. A small fry (which felt more like a medium - perfect size for 1 person) and a Dr.Pepper. **note: they take cards and cash It took about 15-20 minutes to get my food - but again it was at noon and I'll say you could tell this was fresh cooked!!! Food was SOOOO YUMMY! I will be eating here again. I was pleasantly surprised that though this was a burger joint drive in ..the food was not overly greasy. I really enjoyed that the mushrooms and onions were freshly cooked and not overcooked. Crinkle cut fries were also done to perfection. Overall...I recommend this location to anyone and will definitely be a repeat customer!!”

“A nice evening out. This was my first time dining here and I will say I will return and would recommend it to others! Atmosphere inside is nice, with an attractive interior. Servers were nice and attentive, answered all our questions about various menu items. We started with the seafood stuffed mushrooms appetizer. These were very tasty (lol I forgot to take a picture in fact before we got down to the final one!). For entrées I ordered a pizza (created my own). This wood fired traditional pizza was tasty! Crust was a little crispier than I personally like, but overall a nice homemade tasting pizza I would recommend. My husband had traditional spaghetti and meatballs and was very complimentary of it. Again overall I recommend this establishment as a great choice for an evening out.”

“We stayed in Cortez, CO on our way to Mesa Verde and I looked up a bakery to stop at. The Pie Maker had great reviews and looked friendly! They were open for order pickups on Saturday, we were there on Tuesday. I reached out before we left on our road trip and they stayed in touch with me and we arranged a time I could pick up our order. The mini strawberry-rhubarb pies are great you’ll taste both flavors! The mini apple pie crumble is crunchy and there’s a little extra cinnamon kick with the apples. We also got some cookies. The molasses cookies were awesome, and the peanut butter cookies deserve a big glass of milk! Excellent customer care and friendly shop!”

“Five stars from the moment I walked in. Holy hell this place is incredible. Everyone working here is so nice, and so accommodating–I wanted to give 5 stars before even trying the food. Which is absolutely stunning-this is the best Mexican food I have ever had. It ruins anywhere else I could ever go. Please, if you go here, get the Albondigas. The soul in this dish is palpable. I’m really sad I’m only in town one night–but I am going to come back to Cortez just for this place. Absolutely world class joint!!”

“Glad we stopped here - hard to find dining around 9 pm but we were glad we stopped - it was not very busy. We enjoyed some tasty beers - Red Ale was super good. A Cheddar & Bacon burger with a steak salad. Sarah was attentive and efficient. Not sure if happens every night but we appreciated the singing cook and the friendly guy that checked us in and seated us.”

“We were told the owners had gone back to Thailand for a visit, but they will be glad to hear that their restaurant is in good hands. Service was attentive. Seated right away. Water appeared before we were seated. Appetizer of fresh spring rolls was fresh. Panang curry was impeccable 👌. Lots of chicken, broccoli, beans, and carrots. The rice portion could be bigger. Parking was tight, and the ceiling lights inexplicably and involuntarily dimmed once in a while, but all forgiven because the food is so good!”
