“Every dish tonight was delicious, nuanced and unique. It is difficult to name a favorite but the handmade pastas are remarkable and cooked to perfection. The kale salad I could eat every day- the flavors are so balanced. The smashed potatoes are a dream! Crispy outside and soft inside. Don’t forget to save room for dessert- we had the tangy lemon tart. Such an exciting meal. Can’t wait to go back!!”

“The place was beautiful, it had a good atmosphere and friendly waitstaff/bar staff. But my friend and I ordered oysters which did not taste right at all. Maybe something was wrong with that batch but they did not sit well at all. I can't really say anything about the other food but I would recommend trying something else from the menu.”

“From what I understand the brewery is part of the the restaurant so I was a bit confused walking in. Once inside everything was very nice. Beer was good. Pizza is on par with other notable new haven pizzerias, which is impressive. Would recommend to others”

“First time checking it out yesterday and it was awesome. Hard to find a place that has great everything. You either get good food or good service, but here everything was great. I highly recommend it. Our server was very friendly and the food was delicious. Will definitely go back.”

“I deliver for UberEats and I’ve done several deliveries from this place. My family and I are always looking for new options to try for pizza do I decided to give this place a try for ourselves, and I’m very happy I did. They were very accommodating, and very friendly even after I came late. I left my wallet at home so I had to go all the way back, and they held my food with no problem at all. Now that pizza is just....... SO GOOD. Best pizza I’ve found in New Haven since we’ve moved here almost a year ago. It’s not the typical new haven super thin crust but it is really good for people who like a little bite to their pizza! Perfect ratio of sauce, cheese and dough and everything tastes fresh. Oh and the wings!!! I highly recommend! We will definitely be making this our go to place for pizza and wings. And to add, their staff is SO nice! You feel very welcome when you’re in there compared to other pizza places. Thanks for the great first experience!”

“This place was phenomenal. The ambiance is enough to bring you in then you stay for the food and service. The price fix menu was very cost effective and everything on there was delicious! It comes with around 4 courses and is fairly priced, I think around $30. The food was fresh and the staff was nice and timely. Highly recommend!”

“I've ordered from them at least a couple of times, and the food has been consistently good. On one of the occasions, we had to call them, because the order was taking a little bit longer than expected. The Crispy Duck is my favorite dish.”

“One of my favorite Thai restaurants. Delicious food, staff and ambience. The menu is more modern and fusion take on a lot of Thai food favorites. The restaurant can get a bit busy on the peak time.????????????????”

“I don't even like seafood and I enjoy this place. I'm from the Maryland area, so walking into a restaurant and being surrounded by the smell of old bay seasoning is divine. For you other seafood haters, they're landlubber options are on point and their sauces are great. They have a nice bar area too, and most nights it has spots to be seated right away. Friendly staff to boot. I wish they made scented candles that smell like their kitchen.”

“A very nice place to try in new haven. It’s a place with some interesting history. Nice bar. It’s a little small but cute and very clean inside. You can tell the owners do things right. Great fresh pasta. Worth a trip. The food is much better than average, and the specials worthwhile. Service is professional, and the host is very warm and welcoming. Clearly a family-run place. They take pride in what they do.”

“My favorite pizza place on New Haven. I understand that’s a bold statement but I stand by it. The dough is fantastic as well as the service. The staff is extremely friendly, the restaurant is clean, the beer selection is great and the pizza is the best! Skip the overrated overcrowded pizza places in the area and come here!”

“I had such a great time and delicious food. The staff was super helpful and attentive and it just made the whole night that much better. They have a wide array of options for different tastes and everything is worth a try. I went in with a groupon with saved me a good amount of money and I'd defiantly go back with out one.”

“The pizza at Modern is too good. The variety of choices available has something for everybody. My personal favorite is the mashed potato and bacon pie. Just delicious, to the point I ate way more than I should have and was super full last time I was there. The lines are long but worth the wait. A must try for every pizza lover.”

“My morning commute. Wait time was a little annoying for just one item, but if you order it right the coffee is always good. So worth the wait. Good selection of k-cups as well.”

“We decided to stop in on a Sunday night after having a couple friends telling us about having dined here recently. The staff was friendly and attentive. We ordered the sweet potato Mac and cheese as well as a custom pizza with sausage, goat cheese and hot red peppers. The food came out fast and was delicious. They have a good beer menu to choose from with the different categories/tastes prominently displayed. Will definitely be coming back.”

“An excellent addition to the New Haven Apizza scene. It’s the same/similar pizza to Big Green Pizza Truck (food truck/catering) with a good sized venue and lots of beers on tap.”

“Came here for the 1st time with a bunch of Coworkers and let me tell you this place is great. The food was great, the atmosphere was great, the service was great. I can't say anything bad about this place. Looking forward to coming back again very soon..... highly recommend it”

“We had a nice brunch here, celebrating my friend's birthday. The bloody Mary was just the right spiciness and my Irish coffee was delicious, though I hoped for a dollop of whipped cream. We shared eggs Benedict made with a salmon cake instead of Canadian bacon - it was good, though the Hollandaise could have been more lemony. We also shared a pile of pancakes that disappointed for the lack of a fruity option. The plentiful syrup promised to be pure 100% maple, but I wasn't so sure. Oak Haven gets a 4-star for high energy East Rock ambience and a friendly server who reminded me of my son who lives in Chicago. The bar was hopping at noon on a Sunday - I can only imagine the evening scene. If you don't like loud, though, skip Oak Haven.”

“Great new restaurant in the Fair Haven section of New Haven. Food was probably even better than the Windsor locations and a better craft beer selection. Cool airy space in a new, former industrial location with self-service, or table service and plenty of outdoor space also, though our weather isn't ready for that yet. Nick, our server, took great care of us, attentive but not overly so. We shall be back. Well done and thank you.”

“Nice place to meet up with a friend or sit down and work. The cafe has a beautiful aesthetic, including a cute fireplace area. It's quite spacious, which is a nice change from other New Haven cafes. Good cappuccino and prices are very reasonable. Haven't tried the food yet but the breakfast smells really good. WiFi available. Only downside is that it can get quite cold.”

“Really nice place, but how can call your self BBQ and have no ribs? Every time I visit they never have ribs. I get it you had a huge lunch crowd but how about us the carnivorous fellas that get out at an afternoon to chase some meat. Other than that everything is good. Especially the BBQ Beans.”

“Tried the pigeon peas rice and fried pork pieces, see photo of food served on a separate plate. Quantity is generous. Very flavorful and good puertorican food. Very good quality ingredients. Very comparable to eating authentic puertorican food in the island. Would go again to try other dishes. Hits the spot for the island food craving.”

“The food here was good. Apparently they're closed as another reviewer pointed out and when calling the number listed I got Work No. 1. I thought I'd dialed the wrong number, but I didn't. State Garden as of the writing of this review says that they're closed for renovations on their website.”

“The hotdogs were out of this world. The burgers were to die for. The banana pudding with Nila wafers, my daughter would recite the alphabet to get one bite! And the chili mac & cheese there are no words to describe the jalapeños are like little slices of heaven”

“Went there last night for dinner and a few beers. Had Joe's Chicken Entree. Absolutely FANTASTIC and the price was very reasonable. Also had Onion soup and my girlfriend had the Mac and cheese and chili. Everything was great and the service was suburb. Highly recommend!”
