“I lived in New Haven for 6 years, and Nica’s was one of my favorite things about living there! Everyone loves Nica’s. You can’t go wrong with their sandwiches, and the whole market is great. They have lovely outdoor seating in warm weather. We also used their catering services for our wedding brunch, and it was ideal! They were helpful and flexible about the entire thing, and our guests were extremely happy and well-fed. We look forward to visiting Nica’s again when we are in town!”

“This is a fantastic Thai restaurant. We have been looking for a go to Thai restaurant since Thai Taste closed. We heard that the Rice Pot was owned by the same people so we gave it a shot. Most everyone in our party got the Pad Thai and they said it was every bit as good as Thai taste. I got the sizzling steak and it was one of the best Thai dishes I've ever had. It is a fairly small restaurant with great atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful. There's parking two doors down in a lot, we didn't know that, I parked on the street. Highly recommended in New Haven.”

“A dive bar in a residential area, with a ton of character. Seems to be very military and first responder friendly, considering the various plaques and photos on the walls. Their kitchen hours aren't really set, and that goes for the entire bar really. The staff is super friendly, and seems to know just about everyone in the bar (both times that I went the bartender knew most of the patrons). This bar is CASH ONLY, but with that comes very reasonable beer prices; I'm sure to be back.”

“Old world pizza truck came for my daughters 3rd birthday and rocked it!! From the moment they arrived, I knew they were going to do it right. Jim and Jaimie were so friendly and introduced themselves right away. They were very professional and made me feel comfortable that they were going to take care of myself and the guests at the party. The pizza was awesome! And the variety was excellent. We had two servers that were so nice and helpful and explained all the pizzas to the guests. The pizza tables never looked empty and were always filled with pizza. Kids loved to go up and try different slices of each. The ice cream at the end was awesome and it was a great way to top it off. Old world really did an amazing job for my party. I would definitely get them again.”

Our waitress was friendly but a bit lacking - she brought the check before asking us if we wanted dessert and coffee (we did), and was not very attentive. Only ONE seafood item, the shrimp on salad, was available due to weather issues in Greece. The shrimp was over-priced for the portion size, although perfectly grilled. Very good gyros with fries inside. The oven roasted lemon chicken was juicy and tasty. We tried two soups that were very flavorful - lentil and lemon chicken. The Greek coffee and baklava were also wonderful. If not for the lack of seafood, and service, I'd give 4 stars. Certainly worth another try.”

“We had the most amazing experience with owner John, Sunday night. Cocktail class for 6 ladies. What a fun and interesting night. John shared his passion for making the perfect cocktail, the history of various liquors, the perfect garnishes and the science behind it all. Beautiful and delicious drinks were shared and imbibed happily by all. The ambiance was warm and inviting and we didn't want to leave. Perfect truffle fries and homemade warm bread with herb, honey butter & jam helped sustain us in between cocktails! All in all, a great girls night out, in the perfect setting.
