“There was three of us that went to lunch here. The shrimp and grits were really good! Large shrimp and well spiced. The burger was average. You can tell the owner likes himself, his face is on everything including the bun! The third entrée was the ravioli florentine, it was overpriced for the quantity received. “Knowing the restaurants close to the lake entrance are closed seasonally, we were super excited to see Taqueria El Llano had opened when we recently made a weekend trip to our cabin to enjoy the snow. We stopped in for lunch on the way out and left full of good food and talking about how great it was to have an authentic Mexican restaurant local to the lake. We were happy to see breakfast options (noon on a Sunday) we had the large breakfast plate (chorrizo was amazing) 3 tacos (El Pastor, Carnitas, Asada) and all were delicious. There looked to be a 21+ bar area and patio which I can see getting busy when the weather warms and lake season hits. We look forward to coming back and welcome Taqueria El Llano to the lake life!”

“In my Keith Lee voice, I tried it and rated everything a 10! From the soulful 90s r&b playing upon entry, to the warm and friendly service received from the owner and the cashier, to that TRUE soul food that you receive.. this place is nothing short of amazing. I gave it a try as I didn’t feel like cooking dinner, and I’m so glad I did. The owner is also the chef, and she greeted me at the counter to run down the menu. She makes you feel at home like family and is patient as I expressed it was my first visit to the restaurant. I ordered the catfish dinner which came with 2 sides (I picked spaghetti and collard greens), jerk chicken eggrolls (can be ordered separate or as a meal), and a piece of lemon pound cake. Breaking my diet was worth it! The catfish was my favorite (I took a pic of how flaky and perfect it was.. crispy like I like it too!) but everything had a burst of flavor!! Every forkful! The wait was about 15-20 minutes, but it was well worth it because everything was fresh and steaming when I got home! As I was ordering she told me the Mac was still in the oven so I didn’t get a chance to order it. As I was leaving with my order, she told me to wait because it had just come out, and handed me a sample to try. Let me just say, I tasted it on my way out the door and ran back inside (not exaggerating) to tell her just how good that macaroni and cheese was and how grateful I was for that sample! She truly didn’t have to do that or allow me to taste the peach cobbler but I’m so glad she did! As an operations manager, I can recognize and appreciate true hospitable service! I told her I would be back and I meant that. Please give this place a try because I promise you won’t regret it and we need this business to thrive. You can tell this is her passion as you can feel it in her rapport with her customers and taste it in every bit of that food! Hopefully I can stick to my original turkey burger idea next time 😂😂😂. (Probably not, I’m coming back for that mac!🤣❤️)”

“So glad I found this place from a Google recommendation. This was our first time here but we will be going back soon. The food was incredible! I read in the other reviews that others think it's pricey but for what you get I don't agree. The tenderloin was huge, breaded perfectly, and the onion rings were so large and tasty. Churros made in house and so darn good. Our waitress Lauren was so attentive and fun, and even the owner Craig stopped by to ask us how everything was and to tell us that this restaurant has only been open for 4 months. I hope they do well! I think it's unexpectedly delicious! Definitely worth the stop!”

“Update: I keep coming back for the quesabirria tacos. They're honestly the best I've ever had. I think they're improving over time. The birria tacos here are excellent.
