“Unlike most take out Chinese places this place as amazing tasty authentic dishes. They also had some specials that was discounted. We ending up waiting for my sister to join us and that took about 20 mins they were polite about us taking space and waiting to order the main dishes. It tasted delicious though this is a little way out from my house I will have to call and get some take out. Which with the line of take out going out the door I can see they were busy with it. The only thing that some of the dishes that said they were spicy were not spicy at all but they still were tasty.”

“I pick out a new restaurant every month, and selected Taste of Africa for this month. The restaurant and decor itself is just ok, pretty typical for this area, but the food was new to me and tasted wonderful! I ordered the samosas as an appetizer and the Kalahari Platter. The Samosas were great! Almost every culture has a similar dish, meat stuffed in fried dough. The Kalahari Platter came with goat pieces, rice, kale, and a few other traditional sides. I was very surprised by how good everything was. The goat came right off the bone, and the sides accommodate the meat well. I really want to come back and try the fish!”

“We enjoyed watching some football on the second floor on a cool afternoon while waiting for our next soccer game at the complex nearby. We weren’t able to sit with friends from my daughter’s team, and staff wasn’t the quickest to jump to helping us out. So we wandered around the floor and found a table. Once we were seated, our server did a nice job. The fish tacos were delicious and the my son enjoyed a half pound burger. I would go here again. Nice atmosphere.”

“Very good! Hakata has a calm and pleasant atmosphere, with a wonderful staff and great food. We had the hibachi grill which rivals any place else in the metro. We're not much into sushi, so I can't say much about that. We enjoyed our experience here and would highly recommend it! Nice staff, nearly empty restaurant, very clean and very brand new. “I have been to the location 3 times. I ordered 3 different specialty pizzas on those occasions and an accompanying Greek salad. Everything was just fantastic. The staff was more than friendly, engaging in conversation about their restaurant and random bits of whatever subject was brought up. They had a teamwork mentality and generally seemed to enjoy the experiences the same way I did. The pizza had more toppings than most places i could name of the top of my head. If you want to grab some drinks and pizza while enjoying a game... Even with bringing the family, this spot would be ideal. It was clean and welcoming with a general upbeat feel. I will be back.”

I've played it 3 or 4 times in 2015 and every time there were numerous areas on the course that needed some attention. Not unplayable by any stretch of the imagination...just grading based off of the fact that it's on the higher end of cost in the area and it should be maintained as such. Also, Leigh Ann Marshall is the membership director here according to the website and she left a 5 star review...inappropriate if you ask me. “I came here for lunch because a friend had a gift card. I had no idea what to expect, but it is SO GOOD. The first thing I noticed was how beautiful it is. The building is amazing and it’s nice to look out over golf course while you eat. I even saw a few deer in the trees! As for food..their selection was great - not too overwhelming but had a good range. All of their food is locally sourced (except fish which is flown in daily). I got a soup and tasted a little of everything my friends ordered. If you like mac & cheese, you have to try theirs. My soup is was good but I would probably get something else next time! I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with anything you order. The atmosphere was nice, very quiet. Our waiter was super knowledgeable and attentive. I would 100% recommend this to anyone.”

“This is about the 53rd BBQ place on our BBQ tour. We had a burnt end sandwich with the mac and cheese as a side. The burnt ends were crispy, which I prefer, but also they were dry. They were slightly sauced before-hand, we added more sauce. The cheese sauce is a white sauce. The pasta was over-cooked so it was a little too soft. We also had a three rib and one meat platter with side, choosing brisket and beans. The ribs were the best item we had. They were just a little under-cooked, but it was only just by a bit. I would prefer this than most ribs I tend to get which are over-cooked, falling off the bone (which people believe is a compliment but it is not correct). The flavor on the ribs was very good. The brisket was some of the fattiest brisket I've had. It was also sliced too thin in my opinion. It basically disintegrated in my mouth and the flavor was almost non-existent. I think it could easily be improved, I'm not trying to be too down on it. The beans were pretty unique to the other beans in KC. I liked that they were not sweet. There was a flavor I could not pinpoint and the cashier didn't give me an inkling as to what sets the flavor apart. Maybe the wood they use to smoke with imparts the flavor. It has multiple types of beans, and some meat in it as well. They were also thick. I liked that it wasn't just a bowl of soup - another thing I often encounter. They have an original, sweet, and spicy BBQ sauce. I did not try the sweet. The original was not sweet at all (which I prefer) and it was a little more vinegary than others in KC, and a little black peppery. The spicy had a little spice but the flavor was not as good. I generally prefer a spicy sauce. I stuck with the original sauce. I didn't personally love it or hate it, but I think if you prefer a vinegar sauce to the sweet sauce around KC, you probably will like it here. The service was fine. There is ample parking, and handicapped parking and entrance. Restrooms are semi-accessible. Currently, there is a pandemic and I think they could do better. Their employees should be wearing masks, especially those serving the food onto plates. This may not be a requirement of Olathe/Johnson County/Kansas, but if nothing else, it's a good-faith gesture. They did restrict seating in order to have space between dining customers, and the BBQ sauce and utensils were packaged separately. They also have a few tables outside if you're not ready to dine-in.”

“The Cool Place to Be A good burger starts with a great bun, soft, pliable and tastes good. My medium well burger, dressed with tomatoes, lettuce and red onions retained enough juiciness to make the first taste a wonderful start for more to come. Served with a side of fries, your hunger will certainly be satisfied. Since I lucked out by having the whole area to myself, no lunch crowd, I explored the lounge area and adored the contemporary feel and décor. The colors; dark wood, creams, blacks, blues, silver and white blended well and gave a comfortable balance throughout the lounge. Couple that with the great music drifting overhead, The J Bar was my place-at least for a little while. Overall: My server, Steveo, was a great guy and provided great service.”
