“It was my first time eating at The Outside Boys Food Trap. The place was very busy, and I was planning on ordering 3 stuffed turkey legs to go, but unfortunately, they ran out before it was my turn to order. I ordered 1 stuffed with shrimp fettuccine and 2 stuffed with crawfish etouffee. So, I asked how long it would be before more turkey was ready, and I was told about 1 hour and a half. I asked if it would be okay if I waited, and I was told yes, of course you can. The owners, James and Shawn, and their staff all treated me like a part of the family while I waited. I finally got my orders, and whenever I got home, my friends and I tore into those delicious stuffed turkey legs. They were so delicious, and it was definitely worth me waiting on them. I definitely will be going back again.”

The lady running the place was super friendly and helped me by recommending some of their specialties. I tried the Rellenitos Y Atoles, Chuchitos, Tamales De Chipilin. All were amazing and filling. I tried a sweet pastry item that I forgot the name of and also got a refreshing drink called Jarritos Guava. I highly recommend others try this place, especially if you like to experience new things.”

“So my review is strictly based off my DoorDash order. I ordered the catfish strips and after few chicken strips along with a root beer. My DoorDash order came extremely fast and my food was still very hot. The fish was extremely good and did not taste fishy at all. I really enjoyed the fish and would order again. The chicken strips were average and nothing really special about these. The order came with fries and hushpuppies as well. I didn't eat the fries because they were soggy but I think all delivered fries are. (Not their fault) Now the hushpuppies were really good. I'm an extremely picky eater and love finding hushpuppies that don't have onions in the breading. These were strictly breading and corn which have it a nice sweet adder. Then washed it down with a Barqs root beer that was in a bottle. I would recommend this place and will order again next time I'm in town.”

The service was poor, and I do not think I will frequent it here at all. There were three of us, and one was an older veteran. No discount was given to her, and the drinks were sub-par. We had to ask for drinks to be remade. We used to frequent the previous location near LSU, and it was MUCH better. We were looking forward to having a similar experience where the food, service, and drinks were awesome. We had to ask other servers to remind ours to visit us. We spoke to two managers in order to get some type of resolution. They offered us beignets... hell no! Sam offered us to come back for another time, finally. After that, I'll be done with them.”

During the time of travel, I was here on a Thursday afternoon and not really a lot of people. If you're a whiskey drinker, they have a nice selection of whiskey, which I was decently impressed. At least they had my favorites: Blanton, Monkey Shoulder, Basil Hayden, Knobb Creek, etc. The hotel itself is nice, relaxing, clean... everything you could ask for.
