“In KC for 1 night near the airport, I was looking for good barbecue nearby and went to Smokehouse. Going at just after 5pm, even on a Friday, I thought I’d get right in but the place was jammed. To be seated immediately I opted for the bar and had excellent service as well as a bit of local flavor. I got the Chef’s Special for a bit of everything including burnt ends. Everything was great and, having read previous reviews, I had the barbecue sauce on the side so it was perfect, for me. The bartender who waited on me gave me good advice on the beans as a side as well as a good red wine to bring it all together. The atmosphere is nice so it’s a mystery to me why it isn’t rated higher than it is.”

“I visited Bo Lings with a large group. I was frustrated as I'd called ahead and despite being very empty, they were not set up for our group. It took a while to get the tables pulled together, and then menus passed, waters served, before our cocktail orders were taken. I had spring rolls which were tasty but inconsistent, as they were pork and shrimp but some had neither protein and others had one or the other. I also had moo shu pork which was good. In general, I think everyone enjoyed their food. We also had some birthday dessert.”

“I haven't been here for years but a friend of mine gave me a gift card for my birthday. I had the filet with the summer salad and sweet potato fries. I have to tell you the steak was very thick and so perfectly cooked, sorry outback I'm switching to 54 street. The summer salad was to die for! It only took like 20 min and our order was ready for pick up at the curb! Very efficient and easy. I WILL BE BACK!”

“All you can play for $7! My family went over the summer and it was so fun. Draftcade has nostalgic games such as pin ball, pac man, and other classics. I loved playing Wreck It Ralph. We enjoyed all the arcade games. My brothers and I spent half an hour trying to beat each other’s scores shooting hoops & throwing footballs. When we went the place was busy but there were plenty of games to keep us busy!”

“We came to zona Rosa today to watch a movie in the park. We brought a happy meal for my son. After we arrived, my son had a meltdown and cried while I held him for 40 minutes. :( By the time he calmed down and was ready to eat, his happy meal was cold. The gentleman working at subway was willing to reheat his nuggets and fries and saved the day for us. I know it was just a little thing, but it really helped save the day for my kiddo. “I have been trying for years to introduce my wife to Indian food and there was no better place to do it than HERE. (She eats Indian food now!) I have also introduced coworkers to Indian food and this is my go-to recommendation. The food is divine and the service is excellent. Everything I have eaten here I would eat again and again and again. The entrees are to die for and the lunch buffet, which suffers by comparison to the entrees at many other places, is also excellent. It's a little pricey but totally worth shelling out. It is the gold standard for Indian restaurants in the area.”

It was very busy at 10am on a Sunday, but the service was excellent and the food was piping hot and served very quickly. It's always a plus when your server has a pleasant and engaging personality, too. I ordered "The Titanic" because it looked like it might be a challenge. It was! The serving was substantial and consisted of a Big Biscuit and gravy on top of 4 eggs filled with ham, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, green peppers, onions, hash browns & cheddar cheese. It was a good choice!”

“We've visited the original Moti Mahal restaurant in north Kansas City which is excellent. We were staying in Independence for the eclipse and ordered a family takeaway from this restaurant as it was closer. We were not disappointed. I ordered the food in the restaurant and was given a cup of chai tea and a treacle dumpling unprompted while I waited. There was an excellent choice of vegetarian and meat dishes. The restaurant was quite busy as it was Saturday evening and it is located in a busy bohemian art district which looks to be worth a visit.”
