“So firstly don't come here if you haven't checked out the menu first. Their food does have sugar sprinkled over a lot of their options, please know this up front. Although we weren't expecting it, we had an open mind and ended up liking everything we had. I liked the garlic soy chicken wings. The chicken wings did not have sugar. The snow fries were crispy and covered with powered cheese and what seemed like powdered sugar. The K Dog classic half and half was good, but next we may just order the classic mozza. It did have sugar sprinkled over it. I asked for the spicy mayo drizzle. Our friend ordered the avocado egg toast. It looked really good.”

“Well priced meat and they cut the steaks to the thickness we wanted. There were also freshly baked goods, a place to buy cooked foods and a small grocery area.”

“I LOVE this place. The absolute best Mexican food in Winston. Their tacos are literally the BEST. Today me and my coworkers got their California burritos and torta so far everything we’ve eaten there is THE BOMB. Highly recommend their store as well so many great things inside from groceries /meats and amazing produce prices as well! The workers are always very friendly as well”

“Wow, what an amazing experience, everything was as I expected, staff was very welcoming and prompt, loved the vibe and the ambience of the venue, staffs were courteous. For me ambience and service stole the show. Now comes the food, loved the aroma of the appetizers, well cooked and well presented, Gobi pakoda was the best, my wife and kids loved the chicken tangri momos. Loved the non alcoholic mocktails, kids loved the mango lassi. Calcutta chicken birayni and malai kofta was awesome. Overall a very pleasant dining experience . Loved the unique flavor added to the Indian cuisine. Super impressed with the hospitality of the owner Mr Philip chandarana . Will definitely recommend and will come back for more.”

“We came here on a Sunday morning and, since we weren't sure what time we were going to arrive, showed up without reservations. Pro tip: make reservations if possible. Fortunately for us, a party cancelled and we were able to get squeezed in. Which is great, because as we were waiting to hear from the staff about a table, we saw tray after tray of amazing food walk past and would have been highly disappointed if we had missed out! I ordered the chicken and waffles and, wow, it was amazing. It very well may be the best I've ever had. There was a little kick to it but it wasn't overpowering, and the honey was a great sweet touch. I added a side of grits and they were delicious! My wife got the avocado toast which looked like something out of a magazine or cooking show. She said it was good but not great and would probably order something else next time. The staff was very attentive and super flexible to be able to work us into their busy Sunday morning without a reservation. We can't wait to come back!”

“Server Hayden was amazing! She was even training and still had a smile on her face and was great at multitasking! The food was wonderful and fresh. I had the Buffalo chicken dip— it was spicy but not too much. My son had a kids meal and it was a good portion. My mom had two hotdogs and they were meaty and cooked well. The slaw was fresh also. The owner was very friendly. The atmosphere is cute and seems like a good time at night. We went right before 5pm. Will def be back!”

“Amazing food and service. Jeff was such a fantastic and charismatic server. The food was beyond expectations for a first visit. Had oysters to start. Omg. Loved it! For dinner, had a double order of the bacon wrapped scallops over a bed a rice pilaf and artichoke spinach and added a side of cavatapi Mac and cheese. SUPERB!!!”

“Solidly good Italian food at reasonable prices. We were a bit skeptical because Winston-Salem does not have a shortage of decent Italian restaurants. We went on a Wednesday night, and we’re the only ones in the restaurant, so we still had our doubts. But this also allowed the waiter to be attentive, and he was. We had a few decent wines by the glass and started with a meatball appetizer that was quite good and exceeded our expectations. The entrées were not on the same par as the meatballs, but still very good. My wife finished her octopus salad, and my gnocchi was completely consumed as well. We took a miss on dessert as there was only one flavor of gelato, and I wasn’t in the mood for strawberry. But we thought it would be worth going back. The rest of the experience at Roar is a little bit odd on a Wednesday night, but the place has a lot of potential. I will be curious to see it on a weekend evening.”

“Finally a decent authentic Mexican restaurant on the north side of Winston. Walked in was immediately greeted & informed of their daily specials. I ordered their pollo rostizado which came with rice and beans for a very decent price! Very delicious and flavorful. Their menu offers lot of authentic dishes from taco birria to tortas and carne asada. They have a salsa bar which I thought was great because you can take as much as you need! They offer Lots of open sitting space & fast service! I’ll definitely be coming back asap!”

“It had a nice retro decor with good food selection, decent music, and cheap beer. The one downside is they didn’t have enough mugs for our beer. To be fair, they were packed but it would have been nice for them to be well-stocked.”

“If you are looking for some amazing food dessert an some of the best lemonade in the city. It’s a must that you all stop by. Everything is made to order an to perfection omg. When I pulled up there was a few people in line. I was greeted an tended too in a timely manner. I ordered the loaded nachos, mini donuts an a cotton candy lemonade. My socks were blown off at the presentation but when I dug into my food it was beyond fresh at satisfying. I was able to sit at the warm fire pit with my girls an enjoy a Good Friday night. There customer service is absolutely amazing an my kids had an amazing time around the fire. They even have a loyalty card. Y’all definitely have to try them out.”

“I’ve been here three times in a week because it’s so good. The staff are great, and there are so many options to choose from. You can get all kinds of different sandwiches on whatever bagel you like. I prefer the salmon. It is fantastic. The prices are also great. I pick up lunch for a friend and hers is about four dollars for a BLT on a bagel. They also have bags of chips and other desserts. And yes I had already taken a bite out of this before I took a picture. Lol”

“AMAZING experience! As a vegetarian I typically only have a few things to choose from when it comes to eating out, but Salem Kitchen had sooo many options to choose from that I could take home and bake! The young woman helping me at the counter was an absolute GEM- I wish I had gotten her name (she wears glasses and has a Studio Ghibli tattoo like me!) I let her know I was a vegetarian and she showed me an entire section of their menu that was meat free! There are so many sides and desserts as well that looked absolutely delicious. I’m currently trying the baked spaghetti and it tastes like home! Thank y’all so much for your service! I’ll be back very soon!”

“The join and serotonin that flooded my body after I tasted the best Japanese food I've had in the United States is unrivaled by any other dining establishment I've been to. The food was fantastic. The customer service fantastic. The pricing is absolutely great. Most other places charge the same for a meal and you'll end up disappointed. This isn't the case here. The takoyaki was especially a nice treat. First time I tried the appetizer. They are these balls stuffed with octopus and as that ball burst into my mouth I was left amazed. They truly brought a near authentic experience to the triad area. Much appreciated!”

“It’s tucked away off Stratford road so if I hadn’t been searching for breakfast, I wouldn’t have come across it but I’m so glad I did! Even though we walked in at the last minute before they closed, all the employees were kind and still seemed happy to be there. The selection was a little scarce since it was the end of the day (so I’d recommend going earlier) but the options were still great! They have everything from pumpernickel, salt, whole wheat everything to the sweeter blueberry options. They serve coffee but also have a fridge of drinks including the Naked juices and locally made Sunshine. I got egg and cheese on a wheat everything bagel and it was delicious. I’ll be back for more. 👍”

“The bad BAD: long wait, loud music is coming from one corner of the building which is just weird, expensive 30 bucks for snacks for 2 ppl, no traffic signs - took me a while to figure out the layout, the pager that was handed to me was dirty and bathroom was not the cleanest. Not enough seats because people use them to wait. The good: snacks are on point and will come back just because snacks are delicious.”

“My fiancé and I were in town visiting friends and family for the holiday. We took our close friends out to dinner for a New Years celebration Saturday night. The second we walked in the door we were greeted with wonderful service, great beverages, amazing food and an awesome atmosphere. Our table was ready as soon as we walked in. We were able to check our coats when we got to the table. We were offered pre meal cocktails while waiting on our friends. I got an amazing whiskey drink with a lime twist. It was delicious. We were given ample time to review the menu with instructions explaining the best way to order by putting all of our dishes in at once. I appreciate the instructions by the way, leaving things unspoken often leads to confusion and poor experiences. We ordered our meals with the wine pairing. Each dish came with a separate, well thought out pairing of wine. I was pleasantly surprised to find wines I would normally not order being poured. Regardless of my previous experience with the wine, I enjoyed every sip paired with my plate. Our server provided excellent service. The manager did a wonderful job explaining each wine and it's pairing. And the meal timing was perfect. We felt like we were eating at a five star back home in DC. We will come back next time we are in town.”

“If you’re looking for a cute date night- I would recommend this place. The staff was very attentive & gave excellent service. I order the grilled lamb chops with rice & veggies (excellent choice) with a Lime Margarita to pair with. Only reason why I’m giving them a three star because I order take out to go and received queso on my veggie burrito when I asked for no queso I end up having to throw the entire thing away. Super disappointed.”

“Super neat metaphysical shop / yoga studio/ cafe shop. They offer lots of extra sitting space and areas where you can bring your laptop and do your work. Very quiet and clean atmosphere not to forger their local goods from body scrubs to handmade goods. Definitely will be coming back!”
