Mam’s Happy Thai Express

“The atmosphere is cute. Love the purple front door. The owner was very sweet. We received the food pretty quickly. Only giving 3 stars bc the food was just average. The peanut sauce was very runny, and my Pad Thai with chicken tasted a little gamey.”

Blue Toba

Address: 145 E Main St, Ashland, OR 97520, USA

Restaurant

“Blue Toba is authentic and filled with love. This new space, relocated from the original southern Ashland location is beautiful and much larger. Newly “softly-open” as of August 16th, 2022, Blue Toba Downtown is working out some growing pains that necessarily come with a huge change in setting and demand. With some patience, you will receive the most delicious Indonesian food lovingly crafted by Chef B himself. Prices have gone up as is expected and necessary for a downtown restaurant. The owners and staff are obviously working as best they can and I can see that Blue Toba Downtown will soon be refined into the one-of-a-kind Indonesian experience for which they’re striving.”

Martolli's Hand Tossed Pizza Plaza

Address: 38 E Main St, Ashland, OR 97520, USA

Restaurant

“Nope...they missed it. If you've read my many other pizza reviews you know that crust is king in my view and the crust here was just fair. 😟 The space was typical pizza parlor but not all that nice or appealing to me. They had a theme which was interesting, but space was was just not that appealing. The staff were mostly youngsters just doing a job which is fine, but I did not get a sense that there was anyone there who truly was super passionate about making the best pizza possible. They were kind and helpful, but I did not see the passion...which is ok for good, but won't get you to amazing...if that is what you are hoping for. The approach to toppings for a margarita pizza were not my favorites - lots of cut tomatoes on top of a cheese pizza (see photo). There is a better approach in my opinion, but it's just my opinion. The crust was the biggest lacking element, it needs a lot of work to get it to a higher level. This was a very basic crust you could make at home in an hour with no proofing or fermenting. Excellent crust is difficult and takes a long time, but if your business is pizza, make it the best and take the time. I'm hoping these folks will up their game and get passionate about having the best pizza in Ashland. Pie and Vine up the street is a better option in my option at this time.”

Mezcal Restaurant and Bar

Address: 23 N Main St, Ashland, OR 97520, USA

“Tasty and traditional Mexican food with an artisanal flourish destined to delight your tastebuds. If you like mezcal cocktails, this is definitely the place to go. The bar is stocked with an array of mezcal & tequila. The horchata & hibiscus are made in-house and deliciously refreshing. Love the street tacos, elotes, enchiladas, chile relleno & omg the fajitas!!! Lots of vegetarian options and yummy desserts too. Great service & a fun place to hang!”

Masala Bistro & Bar

Address: 258 A St #3b, Ashland, OR 97520, USA

Restaurant

“We have eaten Indian food all over the world, including India. Our meal at Masala was amazing. The kitchen took the dishes to a different level, most certainly inspired by the traditional recipes, but unlike any that we have ever had. And then we need to give kudos to the servers. They were attentive and friendly and could speak directly to every dish that was presented. Thank you Amanda. Such a delightful experience!”

Oberon's Restaurant & Bar

Address: 45 N Main St, Ashland, OR 97520, USA

Restaurant

“Holy. Cow. This was such a hidden (out in the open) gem for us to stumble upon. It's got a very magical, celtic, Irish vibe but just love the dimmed areas and woodsy look. The whiskey menu is no joke and they make some fantastic mules! We only had the late hours menu but we both got brats and kraut and it was delicious. The back patio is by the Riverwalk if you Want to sit outside. Parking was easy at night. Service was great. The bartender was so friendly and also very knowledgeable about his drinks. It wasn't very busy either. They had a small stage for bands or comedy perhaps. I could see myself dining here frequently if I lived in town. Just a very good vibe. Oh, in the wall were some secret notes with cute "fortunes" that someone left for others to find.”

Bar Juillet

Address: 47 N Main St, Ashland, OR 97520, USA

Restaurant

“Lovely!! Food was incredible - everything tasted so good, even better than it looks if that’s possible. Food presentation was on point. We definitely over-ordered for 2, but we weren’t going to turn down leftovers! They have an expansive bottle list (few glass options though), and an amazing cocktail program. I ordered the rum & rye raisin cocktail and it tasted refreshingly fall, apple cinnamon with a rosemary twist. The fried chicken was our favorite, along with THEE salad, full of summer fruit, nut, and seeds - a unique combo that we couldn’t stop eating. All the wait staff were super friendly, the ambience was just the right balance between quiet romantic and a bustling social scene. Highly recommend and would absolutely come back for another delicious dinner!”

Greenleaf Restaurant

Address: 49 N Main St, Ashland, OR 97520, USA

“The pesto salmon was tasty. The pasta with blackened chicken added was also delicious. They have really nice outdoor seating overlooking the creek. Staff did a great job.”

Ashland Food Co-op

Address: 237 N 1st St, Ashland, OR 97520, USA

Cafe Restaurant

“My first time was a positive experience! Friendly folks, decent selection and the beauty care bulk is essential to keeping single-use plastics out of landfills. 🫶🏻 Also, their plants are amazing! We always see cool stuff, in Ashland. Next time, I’ll make a day of it. 🙂”

The Black Sheep Pub & Restaurant

Address: 51 N Main St, Ashland, OR 97520, USA

Restaurant

“The service was nice, not a fan of the highly rated Shepard's Pie, the meat or the veggie version. I like more veg and actual lamb in my pie...just my taste, don't kn9w what the "authentic" pie should be like. OK, didn't hate it, didn't love it. Since this is the Queens Platinum Jubilee celebration, it would have been cool for them to acknowledge it in some way. Drink special maybe? The Scotch Egg was good!”

Water Street Cafe

Address: 10 Water St, Ashland, OR 97520, USA

Restaurant Cafe

“Hari Om, Staff is very friendly, I connected with April. We spoke of the beauty of Ashland and the birthing process, very friendly, helpful and kind! I ordered the salmon burger with a side of chips and an amazing pico de gallo with an iced chai as a drink! Great combo, my baby belly is very satisfied with this nourishing food! They also provide a key for the rest room if you’re a customer! Cute open air cafe, will definitely become a regular here! With love, Mystic Om Athena”

Simple Cafe

Address: 249 A St, Ashland, OR 97520, USA

Restaurant Cafe

“Just wow! Recently discovered this place and I can't say enough about how great it is! The breakfast burrito is absolutely delicious and massive. The special I had today was a pomegranate pork burrito, which was incredibly unique and tasted amazing. The owner is as friendly as it gets and I felt their passion for the restaurant they take purpose in. If you haven't tried this wonderful gem of a cafe just go do it. I can't wait to try everything!!! Thank you Javier and staff. I'm addicted already haha. 👌”

Agave

Address: 5 Granite St, Ashland, OR 97520, USA

Restaurant

“We just moved to town in Aug, from Salem, OR-- where you can find lots of good (heavy, though) Mexican food in the valley. We had tried another highly rated place in town this summer, but it was so heavy and no better than what we can get in Salem for less $. I'd heard that Agave was fresh and light, something different. So this afternoon was my first time dining in this vibrant little eatery. I had the fresh fish tacos of the day-- rockfish. They were grilled with delicious filling and served with rice & pintos. I took some carnitas "wet" burritos home for son & husband, and a chicken & green chile tamale for myself, for an extra treat. All food was fresh, clean and wholesome tasting (that's why I had room for the tamale treat later, ha ha!). Service was courteous & knowledgeable. Seems like a nice place to eat, no matter the weather. The menu and accommodations can serve during the warm and the cool.”

Bento East

Address: 3 Granite St, Ashland, OR 97520, USA

Restaurant

“Rice based simple menu but bursting with flavor. Accommodating to most dietary restrictions. A wonderful lunch spot, nestled just off the main part of downtown. It’s all to-go and cash only, but easy to order at the window with fast service.”

Dobrá Tea

Address: 75 N Main St, Ashland, OR 97520, USA

Cafe Restaurant

“This place is close to Lithia Park. It is so cute, and they have a big selection of tea and tea cups. I was surprised that they even carry one of my favorite teas of all time, the sticky rice pu’er. They brew all of their teas fresh. I ordered a bubble tea and a rooibos chai. The bubble tea was nothing special, and the bobas didn’t taste that great. The chai was the best chai I’ve tasted in different coffee and tea shops all over the country. It makes a huge difference that it’s high quality and freshly brewed, vs in most places they make it from concentration. I love that all their drinks are so fresh tasting and not too sweet. If I live in Ashland I would come here all the time!”

Billy's Fried Chicken Ashland

Address: 82 N Main St, Ashland, OR 97520, USA

Restaurant

“Billy's Fried Chicken was delicious. Casual, house music, dark...the mini post era underground rave of the fried chicken world.. Hands down my best fried chicken experience in Oregon and yes, this includes Portland. I had the Buttermilk and Japanese style fried chicken and I enjoyed both types. The chicken is usually a gluten free recipe. Today there was an exception with the Korean style chicken. All fried chicken is crispy and slips right off the bone. If you enjoy dill, you will enjoy the pickles too, very flavorful. The truffle fries are salty and have a specific flavor to them that I can't quite place, same with the cole slaw, making them unique and memorable flavors. The one complaint I have is the sweet tea was 5.00 and I was literally served about 4 oz of tea. I am not exaggerating, look at the picture. Even with the greedy tea incident (do you see the amount of ice in that glass?!) I feel good about rating 5 stars. I'll be back. Ps. Potato salad is a 3.5.”

Thai Pepper

Address: 84 N Main St, Ashland, OR 97520, USA

Restaurant

“To start the service here was awesome! The servers were attentive and easy to find. My wife has a food allergy and they clearly helped us navigate the menu and daily specials to find items that she could eat. We were able to order and get our meals cooked quickly which was very surprising and appreciative. The food here was great too! A bit pricey but they had a large quantity of gluten free and dairy free options which is hard to come by. The only negative is that they aren't open longer! Hopefully that will change.”

Taj Indian Cuisine

Address: 31 Water St, Ashland, OR 97520, USA

Restaurant

“best buffet, and the employees totally love when I roll in on the one wheel. I took some pictures of the art and sculptures in here, really cool stuff but I guess the owner spotted me and told one of the servers to let me know I shouldn't take pictures - too late though because I captured almost all the awesome art that is in here and am sharing with you now. The food is amazing and I think they might even use real ghee in their recipes - traditional style. I so love the food and service here, I will be a regular customer whenever visiting ashland and the rogue valley.”
