“Great diner in downtown Salem. Lots of sandwich selections plus daily specials. My companion ordered the Super Meatloaf sandwich. I have the daily special which was an open face hot turkey sandwich. Enjoyed the turkey. Nice to have cranberry relish on the side. Mashed potatoes were very good. The dressing was gummy however. The Meatloaf sandwich was very good; I had a big bite.”

“Well-priced, quick, and consistently good. Was recommended to finally try sushi for the very 1st time here, and now I crave it often. Always nice for a lunch or an easy, fun take-out experience to share with someone. We usually go with the Vegas, California, dynamite, or dragon rolls along with some spring rolls. It's a nice little variety, and even when venturing into trying new dishes, I've always enjoyed their food. Leftovers are super simple as well if there are any. The staff is very friendly, and if you're eating there, the dining area is very unique! It's up a floor in the Reed Opera House, and the whole middle of the dining room is open to see the shops the floor below, with tables set along the outer edges. Generally you're seated right at the windows, so you can also do some sightseeing outside while you eat. The architecture's interesting and there's a big stained glass window to check out.”

“We love this place. Although they might not have a huge selection like big places, what they do have is service with a smile and high quality, fresh fish. The latter being the most important at a sushi restaurant. The best in Salem IMHO.”

“I’ve eaten at most restaurants in Salem and all I have to say is this place is the best!! I had the prime rib and my wife had the fettuccine Alfredo. Both dishes came nice and hot and absolutely delicious. This place is the bomb. They were packed and pretty busy service was a bit lacking but the food was with the wait. Much better than I expected in Salem. We will visit them again!! Finally a great place to eat in Salem.”

“Today, I had the pleasure of experiencing a heaping slice of Ireland tucked inside a historic masterpiece and topped with the kind of perfectly executed classic Irish kitchen cooking that transports the diner seven thousand miles in the time it takes to consume one home cooked meal. Sister Irish Bistro, a true labor of love for the multi-generation family that runs it, offers excellent service, freshly prepared classic Irish cuisine done right, and an atmosphere that is nothing short of perfect. Located in the below ground level of the historic Reed Opera House in downtown Salem, it is more than worth the trip whether you're entertaining large groups or just want a quiet drink (anyone looking for a place to get a perfectly poured Guinness, look no further). In one night, Sisters Bistro became one of my favorite places to simply be. You won't be disappointed.”

“Outstanding! It was my first time here and I absolutely loved it. The ordering process is so quick and easy.. then you sit down, eat, and leave (obviously). I love the atmosphere here. Such a cute restaurant that is well put together. They also have a cute bar area as well that I didn't get to sit at, but next time!”

“Got to say I do not usually give full stars to fast food. This place was staffed with an amazing worker. We had a large group and she handled all our orders like a champ. Everything was done made correctly, charged correctly, and she did it with a smile. She was by herself when we first started ordering. Another employee came in, but was not understanding what she asked him to do so she continued on with a smile helping us and others. He eventually got into the groove, but couldn't compete with her. I wish I knew her name, but I didn't write it down. Thank you!”

“Came here for comedy, and stayed for the drinks. Just kidding, stayed for both and I can confirm - both were awesome! I have to recommend the fries dipped in blue cheese, but my drunk husband loved his burger... and honestly, it smelled great. The staff is phenomenal and I can't say enough great things about them. Absolutely, a go to whether you're visiting or a Salem local.”

“Came in just as they were opening for dinner, and what a perfect time to dine here. Started off with drinks and the lamb sliders. Great bartender, friendly and amazing service. Had to go with the classic cooked medium rare, tender and to perfection. Topped it off with dessert and a Irish coffee. Will definitely be back.”

“We really enjoyed our date night ending it with a piece of cake. The sizes are so big you can definitely share if you are willing. The restaurant is a little tricky to get to either walk down an ally or enter through Amadeus restaurant. We love the selection of cakes and desserts offering a variety of gf and vegan. I’m hoping they expand their selection even more. Very comparable to the Konditerei”

“This place is so cool and charming! Art deco design, even in the unisex bathroom. Love the feel of the place. Reminds me of a bar you'd find nestled in a big city. The women working the bar and serving were super friendly, engaging, and genuine. The best thing I've eaten in a while we're their truffle fries with garlic aoili. Could eat that every day of my life. Had the mac and cheese which was creamy and cheesy but heads up because it has the smokey flavor. 10/10 would go here again.”

“Even though the staff left a bit to be desired (slow to take order, didn't ask what type of soup we wanted -- had to find them to tell them, and then got one of our Kitchen Special's wrong), the food is extremely fresh, excellently sauced and seasoned and impeccably presented. This is some of the freshest sushi we have had in a loooong time. All of the Rolls are expertly made and plentiful for the price. They have a great variety and really know how to combine flavors. The Kitchen Specials were superbly crafted -- the orange tofu was not overpoweringly sweet and the tofu was nice and crispy, even with the orange sauce on it. Just can't say enough about the freshness and flavors. Don't let the decor turn you away (it is a bit old) -- the food is amazing! Salem is lucky to have this little gem hiding in the downtown core.”

“Had a very pleasant meal. Sat at a table outside and enjoyed a late summer evening here. I had the grilled vegetable and it was very good. The local mushrooms were outstanding. The other vegetables were good, too, but mushrooms were memorable. My companion had a ridiculously huge portion of lasagna. He said it was good but it was a very LARGE amount of food. Prices were reasonable and service was efficient and friendly.”

“The food is amazing and the wait isn't too bad. It's good for dining alone or with a smaller group of people- also nice and cozy. The one I went to had a fireplace and it was quite nice. Would definitely recommend!”

“This was my first time at the Wild Pear and I was impressed. They were full to capacity unless we wanted to sit at the bar, which we did. The very nice lady that waited on us was attentive even though the bar was full as well. I had the Deluxe BLT and it was delicious. It came with lightly salted chips but we ordered Truffle Sweet Potato fries as well. Everything was as warm or cold as it should have been. I would highly recommend this restaurant to all of my friends and family.”

“Our first time at Sal’s was on a Saturday afternoon, about 2 weeks ago. He was our server and was also doing the food preparation, with a little help from someone else in the kitchen. Despite this small staff of two, our food came out in a decent amount of time. I had a delicious hot pastrami sandwich with a cup of excellent tomato bisque soup. My wife enjoyed a generous salad with house made dressing . Our granddaughter consumed her wrap in record time. Everything was fresh and tasty- my sandwich was huge and incredibly good. We look forward to our next meal at Sal’s, perhaps on a night when live entertainment is featured.”

“Wandering through Salem after dark, first time in the city. Late enough that choices had become quite limited. Happened by Taproom. "This looks pretty good". Wow. Artsy students crowd. Very interesting. Original art on the walls and the booths (!) Food was well above average. And if, when you go to heaven and have to tell St Peter that you didn't eat a Taproom taco when you had the chance, he'll likely say "What on earth were you thinking?"”

“I was more than impressed with the customer service at this hotel. They went above and beyond to answer questions and to make us comfortable. The food is AMAZING, from the included breakfast buffet to the moderately priced cuisine in the attached restaurant. Room service was free and quick. The pool and fitness room were beautiful and clean. The bed was a dream, and the convention center modern and efficient. The surroundings are beautiful with a great park to view scenery and walk along the river. I’ll be back, but next time I’m bringing my family!”

“This is a rather sprawling restaurant in downtown Salem with an extensive menu of Italian and Asian dishes. We were impressed with the food, as our expectations were exceeded for this family style restaurant. We visited on a week night, so they were not super busy. Service was very good. I had the seafood fettuccine that was wonderful; the seafood was cooked perfectly and was excellent considering that Salem is not on the coast. My partner had the stir fried asparagus, onions, carrots & garlic with shrimp that was cooked to perfection over brown rice that was cooked perfectly. The wine by the glass was reasonably priced and very good. We highly recommend this restaurant.”

“Loved my first experience at The Masonry Grill! The bartenders make the best fresh and creative cocktails! Chef Sam does an amazing job with all the dishes I have tried so far! I really can’t say which dish is my favorite because they are all so different and a delicious in their own ways. I do have to say the Italian dishes are the best I’ve had in a long time and definitely the BEST in Salem. My young kids loved the Mac n Cheese with caramelized onions and bacon. Can’t wait for my next visit!”

“We like a lot eating out. Yesterday we went to this magnificent restaurant which friends told us about. We enjoyed a delightful experience there with great meal and a courteous crew and a distinguished cook. We added this venue in our list and we will certainly go again soon. We deeply recommend.”

“Went here for breakfast and it was really good! The portions are a good size. I got the country fried steak breakfast with 2 eggs, hash browns and a biscuit. It was very good. The pancakes are also very good and huge! I didn’t try the big mess breakfast but apparently that’s what they’re known for. The place is on the smaller side but quaint and you may have to wait for a table or sit at a long table with other people. This place has been around for a long time.”

“Best Little Roadhouse is my wife's and I favorite restaurant. The setting is convenient and the wait times even on busy nights is quick. I have been there in slow days and busy days and it is consistent every time. Wait staff is prompt and very friendly. They are always around and helpful and I always see the managers on the floor. The food is always timed well and great. Their honey rolls are unique and delicious, there burgers are always meaty and filling, their fish is well seasoned and their prime rib is the best steak I have found at a restaurant. I have paid for $100 steaks from the finest steak houses but I will always choose Best Little Roadhouse prime rib over those. I have mine seared and extra seasoned and it comes out perfect everytime. I have been to Best Little Roadhouse 12-14 times in the last year and they can be a little pricier, but they always deliver in quality of food, atmosphere and staff attitude.”

“Had breakfast with family of 6 without any issues. Love the location of seclusion and big windows to views of the golf course. Love the aged building feel and decor. Will come back again. Worth checking out even for the atmosphere. Even have a bar in another room. Clean I'd say”
