“A young woman with silver hair helped us at the register 15 minutes to close and was so incredibly polite! A particularly rude couple came in before us and took forever ordering and deciding. “Bagels were okay. I called in an order based on website menu because we were stopping in during a road trip and had all of my choices lined up based on that website including option of cooked egg. When I got them on the line they mentioned they only microwave their eggs. Maybe it's time for an online update, a lot of people look at that nowadays. I have seen some reviews about the pleasantness of the staff, or lack there of, and I agree. While the food was good and I felt like a burden as I walked to the register to pick up my food rather than waiting in line because it was pre-ordered. It feels like the type of place that they are only nice to you if you are a local that frequently stops in. Maybe this is due to being in a popular tourist location, but I live 25 minutes away and go through or to Waterbury often and I would not go back.”

I can say that in comparison to the two orders I've requested at all bagel joints... an everything bagel toasted with egg and cheese & an everything bagel toasted with cream cheese. Their attention to detail may not be noticed until visiting another bagel place. The bagels have a great outer crust that is crisp & the interior bagel is a lightly fluff of cooked dough. The egg and cheese on a toasted everything bagel is so well perfected, that adding bacon may in fact, and it's difficult for me to say and accept, may actually disguise the amazing flavor combination of their perfectly cooked egg and cheese. The other bagel places in the area don't even achieve a place on the podium for excellence.”

“The Bakery is 'Middlebury Central' and should not be missed. Lovely atmosphere, squeeky clean, committed staff and lots of fresh foods and beverages. Bread, pastries, soups, salads, sandwiches etc., hand made and baked on site. On certain days each week there is also wood baked sourdough bread and pork or chicken smoked on site. And in summertime there's lots of shaded outdoor seating amongst the flowers.”

Seating outside on the porch and inside among shelves of used books for sale. Book store is in two houses, with a large assortment of used books. Definitely worth stopping at.”

“What a nice cozy place this is. I was looking for a late dinner after I got to town and I'm so glad I found Tuckerbox. I ordered the lamb casserole and it was excellent. The lamb was tender and flavorful and the mix of vegetables they used worked well with the lamb. There was just a bit of heat to the spice blend which is always welcomed by me. For dessert I ordered the almond pudding. It was a nice, delicate pudding and was so good. I wanted to try their baklava but I was so full I just couldn't eat any more.”
