“My go to spot for sitting down with my laptop and having a delicious drink. Lattes are a bit pricey, but worth it for the taste and quality of ingredients. Getting house made coconut milk is included in the price if you’re dairy free! The blueberry muffins are killer, as is the Portuguese rice pudding. I always feel welcomed by the friendly staff, too!”

Mothers Cooking Experience

Address: 1603 G St, Arcata, CA 95521, USA

Restaurant

“We traveled to Arcata for my birthday and to visit with our daughter who is a student at Cal Poly Humboldt. We decided to visit Mothers Cooking Experience to have brunch but also to support a black owned business. Once inside, we looked over the menu and order our meals at the counter. We found a table and sipped on our mimosa, while we waited on our meals. I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes with fried chicken. The chicken was tender, juicy and seasoned to perfection and the pancakes were just as scrumptious! My husband had one of the best sellers..fried chicken, black beans, toast, potatoes and eggs. Everything was finger licking good!! We will be going back on our next visit. Thank you Alba for making us feel at home.”

Hey Juan Burritos

“I mean what can you say, if you want a bomb burrito this is the place! I can’t answer for all of them but I can for those looking for vegan/plant based options. The vegan burritos are legit! Added jalapeños and verde sauce it really hit the spot. It is take out only at this time but as long as the food is great that’s all that matters. They have drinks to go as well! Lots of vegan, vegetarian and regular options for all!”

“Great ambiance, feel of history… amazing staff , that’s the first impression.. the food was tasty as of home , nothing more nothing less , nothing fancy whatsoever. We went for a late breakfast, it was almost lunch time , but the kind lady chef prepared breakfast for us . Their biscuits and gravy is a must try . The scrambled egg was heavenly, sausages were perfect cooked , toasts were delicious. Buy their homemade bread . The staff who served us was so amazing and friendly. We felt like home ( we were the only customers at that time ) so they were able to take care of us . Please be ready to wait to get food , as it’s made fresh ..”

Marcelli's Ravioli Factory

Address: 1323 5th St, Eureka, CA 95501, USA

Restaurant

“In terms of solid home cooked Italian food this place is pretty on-the-money. It's small and has been here forever. They have lunch specials that are a really good deal usually. Typically it's a pasta dish that comes with either soup or salad and garlic bread. Very filling. Small place; they have a counter which is great if you're solo and at lunch. Otherwise, there are several tables, and I've never seen the place too crowded. Service has always been really good to me.”

Pachanga Mexicana

Address: 1802 5th St, Eureka, CA 95501, USA

Restaurant

“Went out looking for a good Mexican place because I am not too thrilled with the one closest to where I live. I let Google make some suggestions based on location and the first place I tried was great. Super quaint and lovely decor, I was greeted by friendly staff and immediately shown to a table. Angelica came by with menus and info and gave me some suggestions as a first timer. I opted for the Empanada, and was lucky because Stacy who also was helping out told me I could go half and half with the red sauce/green sauce. The food is absolutely delicious and clearly authentic and homemade. The chips were fresh and the cabbage salsa is to die for! So I had the pork in the empanada and it was tender and moist, well seasoned and not too salty. Full of flavor and juicy goodness. I am happy to say the prices were fair and with a lovely pineapple cider and tip I was out the door for about $25. Stuffed. Highly recommend this local family-run gem.”

Wildflower Café and Bakery

Cafe Bakery Restaurant

“This place was so great I came back the very next day. Day 1 we got the vegan Mac and cheese and vegan McGriddle sandwich. Day 2 we got the vegan nachos and enchiladas. All four meals were delicious! Super flavorful, very large portions, fresh ingredients.”

SALT Fish House

Address: 935 I St, Arcata, CA 95521, USA

Restaurant

“Wow, I was blown away by how good the clam chowder was. The perfect balance between creaminess and broth. The contents inside the clam chowder are perfectly cut in size and very flavorful. We were tempted to order two quarts of it because it was just that good! The fish and chips on the other hand.. It was pretty mediocre. It wasn't bad, but the breading was not crispy at all and the fries were very soggy as well. Maybe it could be because of the to-go container it was in? Either way, it was not very satisfying.”

Japhy's Soup & Noodles

Address: 1563 G St, Arcata, CA 95521, USA

Restaurant

“Well holy moly me oh my, this place is DELICIOUS. I got the hot soup, with ramen noodles, miso, the baked pork (SO FLAVORFUL) and veggies, and I’m not ashamed to say it, but I did not take a single breath in between bites. This ramen was SO GOOD, I’d come all the way from Phoenix Arizona to cali JUST for this ramen. The people were nice, the restaurant is very clean and well decorated. I enjoyed my stay so so much. I got the green curry as well (for a late night feast) and if the quality is anything like the noodles, I’m ready to fall in love with this Curry as well.”

Stars Hamburgers

Address: 1535 G St, Arcata, CA 95521, USA

Restaurant

“Stars is a Arcata and Humboldt classic. Good standard burgers. Not one of those places trying to serve enormous ones you can't fit into your mouth. Good grass fed local beer. Love this burger joint. This is where all the university students come to and has been a staple in the community for many years. Cool bonus, Humboldt Alumni that worked here at Stars Burgers was the creator of the famous SpongeBob series. Awesome burgers and shakes.”

T's Cafe North

Address: 860 10th St, Arcata, CA 95521, USA

Cafe Restaurant

“Arrived Sunday morning before 9:00 am. Greeted, seated with water immediately. Waited 10 minutes for drink order to be taken. No decaf machine drinks, so they brewed a fresh pot for my husband. He loved it! My latte with an extra shot was very weak. It took another 10 minutes. Long wait for food. 9:38 it arrived. Complete breakfast: over medium eggs a bit hard. Gravy tasted bacon bases, sweeter than the average sausage gravy. No jam offered. Bacon tasty, but small cut portion. Side potatoes were good, crispy, and a great vehicle for the organic catsup to get into your mouth! The corned beef Benedict gets a mixed review. The eggs were poached perfectly. But the hollandaise sauce was flavorless and skimpy. The kale green were tender, someone stayed up late massaging the greens! The corned beef hash had very little flavor. When you're salting the corned beef for taste, something is wrong. Cottage cheese side option is nice, served in a small glass jar. Our bill before tax was just shy of $50. The location is historic for Arcata. My husband's good friend's mother cooked in the "Tower" in the 60's. Take time to appreciate the curve glass windows in the Tower, and the overall architecture of the building. The rooms and tables are comfortable, but those chairs! They make the wait hard to endure. I had to take walks around and outside. The bathroom is spacious and clean.”

Humboldt Brews LLC

Address: 856 10th St, Arcata, CA 95521, USA

Restaurant

“Great beers and great food. Sat outside on the dog friendly patio. Elvis really liked it and gave it four paws up which is his highest rating. Service was excellent - friendly, attentive and quick. We had a Hefeweizen & the hazy IPA. Both were very good. I really enjoyed the Yumi hazy which was very fruit lemon forward. For food, I had the French dip & the Boss had the patty melt. Excellent! The onion rings were hot / just out of the frier. We also had a cup of the clam chowder which was really really good. Humbolt Brews is a super venue. Highly recommended. You should go!”

Oak Deli and Brewery

Address: 1101 H St, Arcata, CA 95521, USA

Restaurant

“DO NOT miss this new shining star! Quality, small batch and attention to detail come to mind. Stop for a delicious craft beer and a well crafted panini sando. Ruben, BLT or crock monsieur and you won’t leave unimpressed. Oak Deli & Brewery has a bright future.”

Porter Street BBQ of Eureka

Address: 605 Broadway St, Eureka, CA 95501, USA

Restaurant

“This is one of the Best BBQ I have eaten at . Staff take your order correct. The Food is fantastic. I purchased the large TriTip Sandwich on Rare side because it will continue to cook if you leave it sit wrapped up. The house sauce is great . Portions are great. Taste is fabulous. It is a thin cut which makes it taste sooo good!!. I also got the Potato salad which is homemade not out of a container. So the flavor is great..and a Fountain drink. They offer other drinks also . They have a fantastic condiment bar. That is very Clean. And on Ice.. Really it's a one of a kind excellent eating BBQ.. Owner and the employees are very attentive. I tipped them and they deserve it. I eat a lot of different BBQ Of all the places I always come back to Porter Street. Try this sometime I get a trip tip and pastrami Sandwich. Now that's a great flavor. Love the Cobbler, Try the Burger it's fresh burger and very nice sized. The burger is underrated in Eureka. I would put it at the top.. Enjoy.”

Tacos El Pueblo

Address: 301 W Washington St, Eureka, CA 95501, USA

Restaurant

“Decent burrito, but surprisingly pricey.$4 for a can of coconut water. "Super" burrito which wasn't very large turned out to be nearly $13. Higher than restaurant prices for a food truck.”

Fiesta Cafe

Address: 823 Broadway St, Eureka, CA 95501, USA

Restaurant

“Great food and service! Kid friendly. Affordable prices.”

Panda Cafe

Address: 1010 Broadway St, Eureka, CA 95501, USA

Restaurant

“I had the orange chicken and my wife had the lemon shrimp with hot & sour soup. Soup had strong vinegar and white pepper taste, which isn’t bad. Had to add soy sauce to cut the taste; wife was not impressed. Lemon and orange sauce was ok. Shrimp is the typical breaded and deep fried kind. Orange chicken was ok. Nothing spectacular but it was edible.”
