“On our first night in Bar Harbor hubby & I ate at a nearby restaurant but I couldn't help but be intrigued by the music and camaraderie amongst the crowd at the Dog & Pony so hubby and I came back the next night for a late night dinner. Monday night football was well underway but we were able to find a booth and minutes later, Lynn, the bartender, came over and took our orders hubby - hubby went with the brisket sandwich and I got the sweet chili wings. Hubby's brisket was tender and flavorful and my wings were juicy and on the large side and the sweet chili was sheer perfection - sticky sweet with just enough heat, so meaty I couldn't finish them all so I took the rest to go. When Lynn dropped off our check she had a few moments so we chatted about the area and she gave us some wonderful tips, we thoroughly enjoyed her company and our meal and if time had allowed we would have stopped by again, definitely have it on my list for our visit next year. If you want to hang out and just chill and let your hair down this is the place for you, on the weekend they even had the patio bar open and the public parking lot is right outside their door.”

“Best breakfasts. I had the stuffed French toast with home made cinnamon raising bread topped with wild Maine blueberries. Went back the next morning for their stuffed pumpkin pancakes. Both very delicious. My husband had the biscuits and gravy one morning and home fries covered with very tender pot roast topped with over easy eggs. Again very delicious.”

We came to Maine for the views and the seafood and this place has both. The food, cocktails and service were truly excellent!! “Even though we ate at Finback hours before they were to close for 2019, the food was outstanding. We enjoyed a Mediterranean salad with blackened haddock and a Finn Burger. Both meals were very good, with the meats cooked to perfection. Seasonings were excellent and the fries wonderfully crispy. We are looking forward to our next meal at Finback.”

“What an unexpected awesome meal and an awesome place! This is the perfect spot for a slap of old-fashioned Americana. There’s tons of memorabilia inside this once-converted church, complete with a vintage gas station, and a train that is set up across the top of the restaurant. The bathrooms are also full of great decor, from framed yearbook photos and magazine covers inside the stalls, so large dresses tacked to the door. This is the perfect place to get a nice juicy burger and some fries, but since I was in Maine, I still opted for the classic lobster roll with a cup of lobster bisque. It was delicious, and what I needed since it was pouring rain outside! Good comfort food in a great environment. Perfect for kids since it’s colorful and plenty to look at, and the music is playing so the noise they make shouldn’t bother other diners. I’m glad we chose this place- it was tucked in the back of the street, so if we didn’t know we were going there from looking online at reviews, I might have missed it since it’s set so far back. They were able to accommodate us immediately without reservations, which was ideal since we were standing out in the rain looking for a dinner place!”

“I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised with this place! It's very big inside, but also very busy. Regardless, we got a seat quickly and had a friendly server. The food was amazing and the best fish and chips I've ever had. The breading was light and crispy and had a good flavor, while the fish was light and moist. The clam chowder was delicious!”

“Healthy and absolutely delicious food situated in a delightful, bright, modern space. Reasonable price for the quality of the food - it was prepared and served quickly. “Great place! Lots of seating, but it felt a tiny bit cramped. Food was fantastic. Got the crab dip as a starter and I highly recommend. The seafood mac and cheese for my entree was fantastic - the scallops were cooked really well. Food came out timely and everyone had a good time!”

“The West Street Cafe is an excellent place to eat in Bar Harbor. It is right on the main street and across from the Harbor. If you are on a cruise, it is a short walk to this location. If you are visiting Acadia National Park, this is an excellent choice for a meal. The food is delicious. The offerings are traditional coastal choices, including lobster rolls and clam chowder. “We ate here 24 years ago and came back in August. Same place - cute little diner. It was busy but we got a table right away. This place is known for their Maine wild blueberry muffins and pancakes. My husband ordered the blueberry pancakes and he said they are just as he remembers them. Blueberries inside the pancakes, he said the way they should be. Very good pancakes. This is what they're known for. I ordered an omelet with breakfast potatoes. This was very good too. But the best part? They make gluten free blueberry muffins. I never expect restaurants to cater to diet restrictions, so I was beyond thrilled!!! This is a busy place and the servers are quick and efficient. They'll make a little small talk if they have time, but they are typically hustling. They are pleasant and can anticipate your needs.”
