The bun my sandwich was made on was so fresh and fluffy. Just a top notch sandwich made exactly the way I wanted it. Added this place to my regular rotation. “I always love this location. It's not the fanciest or biggest. It is in Traverse City but not the original location. This location just always has good energy. It's located in a strip mall, just outside the core of downtown. You order your food or pie and pay there. Then when it's ready they call your name to come get it. I ordered the Cherrywood BLT sandwich and a pumpkin muffin. Both were very good and very fresh. Their was plenty of well cooked bacon on my BLT. The person I was with had the breakfast sandwich and also thought it was very good. The service was excellent and very efficient while being very friendly. Overall a 5 star review. Would I return? Yes I will.”

“Has pre-made subs that are honestly AMAZING. The gobbler is my personal favorite, which comes on this delicious bread sprinkled with sea salt. They have an array of beverages as well, from homemade juices to organic teas. Definitely my favorite spot to go to grab a quick sandwich and some chips. They also sell cooking supplies, which I cannot speak to the quality or price since I only go there for the delicious subs.”

“We got to experience the amazing-ness that is Slabtown Burgers on our last visit to the Traverse City area. They were pretty busy when we went, but it was to be expected on a Saturday night in the summer. Despite the crowd we were still able to find a spot to eat with no problem and our food was ready quickly. All of us were impressed by how delicious the burgers were and I’m a fan of any place that offers tater tots. We will definitely be going again the next time we are up north.”

“Saw this place on the PBS show "Under the radar." I came to Traverse City on vacation and had to try it. Very impressed. The waiter that we had was top notch. We had a two year old with us and he made sure that her food came out first.( Very important). We never had to wait for a drink and the food was of quality ingredients and fresh. “I was excited to try this place but found that our waiter was not very thorough and did not give much effort to explain item upgrades and menu modifications. Upgrading from chips to fries with our entree was $4 plus $0.50 for dipping sauce. Anywhere else in the world, upgrading a side with an entree would be a $2 upgrade at a maximum. Not to mention, the fries were subpar at best. Our bill for two people was $70 for an appetizer, 2 entrees, 1 drink, and dessert. Hardly worth thy price to be perfectly honest.”

“Food was pretty good! My boyfriend ordered a 10 piece shrimp and said it was great. If you're looking for fish and shrimp it's a great place to come! My only recommendations are that they have some sort of sign about the seating! It's a tad confusing at first. What you do is go up to the counter, order your food and pay for it, and then grab a seat and they bring it out to you. Walking in the side entrance we couldn't see the "order here" sign and stood there figuring out if it was a restaurant style method of eating or not! Also, it took quite a long time before the shrimp came out, I think I got through an episode of whatever was on the TV before it arrived. It seemed longer than most restaurants and the customer level seemed average but not super busy at the time. Decor is sea themed and even has cool old-school boat motors around!”

Cons: Maybe we just came at a weird time but our soup was just mildly warm, the noodles were undercooked, yet the beef was over cooked. The tofu spring rolls were good but the peanut sauce was a little lacking in flavor. Thought it was a little expensive for the quality of food received. Not likely to revisit based off of first impression.”

“Great place to grab a beer and a bite to eat while in the downtown area. Food vendors, brewery and a few other unique shops all under one roof (bonus!). Food vendors are very meat-focused (not a bonus), so vegetarians and conscious eaters be warned. No coffee available, nor wine or hard cider that I saw. So, currently it's best for those looking for a craft beer and smoked brisket to wash it down. Outdoor seating is a plus.”

“I've been twice and made a point to come back with friends, we came on Sunday morning which is understandably a very busy time. I knew from the first visit that this was truly homemade food that takes time. This last visit took a bit longer than we were expecting. We had 4 plates and three of us got food before the other friend and it took a while. The food was absolutely delicious and worth the wait I just wish there had been more efficiency in the kitchen. It looked like they were down a person so I totally get it. Just be prepared for a potential wait but it'll be totally worth it! We hope that when we come back the staff is a bit more trained :)”

“I've been shopping at Oryana since the 1980s on Randolph Street. Oryana is more than a store, it's a community. It's place of fresh local produce, healthy food, amazing soups and a gathering place for like-minded people. It's a gathering place of information whether it's the bulletin boards in the front, the gallery of local farmers in the entryways, the staff knowledge of healthy foods and products, to the classes taught in the cafe in the back - Oryana is a great place to come to learn more. The atmosphere is fun and enjoyable. People are friendly, produce is colorful, it smells great and there's often music playing in the cafe. Come and enjoy!”

If you’re a young dad and want a good beer, but also want a good place for your kids, THIS IS THE PLACE. Our server went above and beyond. An employee who wasn’t even taking care of us quickly came to our rescue when our kids had a spill. She mentioned that she understood because she had three kids herself. Everything was simply top notch. TC was crawling today and yet we had NO WAIT at 6:30 p.m. on a Friday night. We hit the jackpot apparently. Easy FIVE STARS.”

“I come from Chicago so I have different expectations. Is this the best pizza I've ever had, no. If i wanted my favorite pizza I would be spending $40 instead of $25. The crust is hand tossed so it's softer and thicker than your standard thin crust pizza but tastes good. The sauce smells excellent but is kinda standard pizza sauce nothing special. The sausage and bacon on our pizza was delicious! One of us actually saw a young lady cooking the bacon to put it on the pizza, never seen that thumbs up! The decor was your standard pizza place with a little flair, but it was a little too warm for us so we took ours home. Pizza was finished in about 15 minutes, that's super fast in my book. If i come down with a craving for pizza i know where to go for a quick bite.”
