“Taranto's is the place to go for boiled seafood; shrimp, crawfish, blue crabs, dungeness crabs, king crabs, and corn, potatoes, lemon, garlic, and spices/herbs. I have a tween aged daughter and a two year old daughter and we've never had trouble as a family. The atmosphere is totally family friendly and kids seem to love the live action of eating shell fish! Hahha Their poboys are nothing spectacular but are tasty and piled high with topping. We've never had an issue with the wait staff. I view Taranto's as a great place for a family meal or romantic evening. Beware you may need cash instead of credit/debit these days. Just call ahead. Enjoy y'all's meals!”

“I have tried a few things there and I out of the things I’ve tried I got a few favorites 1st is the Seafood box its amazing and seasoned to perfection. 2nd is tied between the Pull pork and the wings ( any flavor u can’t go wrong) The pull pork and coleslaw was not only delicious but loaded with meat trust me when I say he ain’t skimpy on the portion size and it’s always fresh which is very important to me and my family. The wings was smoked and seasoned to perfection. And lastly the price r so reasonable unlike other places u definitely get ur money worth and some. I could eat here every week especially on Seafood Fridays 🥰🥰! I just wished they could be opened later in the day so I could have it for dinner some nights but until then I’ll continue to be there b4 the doors open for lunch. Keep up the great work!!”

“Decided to try this location on Highway 49 in Gulfport. Ordered their 2 piece, fish special, which came with two hush puppies and your choice of a side I choose french fries. The fish was fried perfectly. The hush puppies were good french fries were so so but that’s OK. The other food made up for it. Of course I like cocktail sauce which I was given, fresh lemon and ketchup. I did the drive-through the service was quick. The girl at the window was courteous and nice and even went out of her way to get the lemon for me so I will give this restaurant six stars but I can’t so they got five. I didn’t go inside the restaurant it was very clean and very modern. They have a drink station for dine in high chairs pretty much whatever you need bathrooms were very very clean. I would recommend this Captain D’s to anyone on the Coast.”

Vincent puts his soul into his place of work which is more like his second home. There's no guessing what your plate may look like when eating here. The magic unfolds infront of you as he prepares your feast before you on a platter. His whole crew working there are great people. You feel family vibes among them which is beautiful. The bbq is beautiful. I've had good bbq at other places, but this place my friends is great bbq. Ordered the three meat plate. Ribs, brisket, burnt ends and added sausage. Everything was full of flavor. Brisket was moist and tender. In house made beef sausage was wonderful. Burnt ends are great! Potato salad and mac n chesse were awesome sides. Refried beans had absolutely no flavor. My enchilada Mariachi was good but it was not served according to the description so had to send my plate back as well. Upon entering, and giving them my name, I was told half my party had to there in order to be seated. 🙄🙄 You didn’t get half of my $300, is what I wanted to say. I told the gentleman that I reserve large sections for the space, not necessarily the head count. I don’t care if it’s 3 people, I still might reserve a section for 8, just so people can be comfortable. Also, when I booked it was only that option and a tabletop for 4, which I didn’t want. Besides that, I enjoyed it, and will definitely return, but I’d suggest figuring something else out when it comes to telling people they can’t be seated when their money has been paid.”

“It took a few social media posts with delicious-looking plates of food to give me the courage to try the latest restaurant in the ever-revolving location on S Gloster. Don't let the hand painted signs deter you from trying some of the best Mexican food we've ever eaten. Salsa: It had plenty of flavor and was just the right consistency. Do yourself the biggest favor and ask for a bowl of hot sauce (dont expect an orange liquid...this is the real deal). A spoonful of it in your bowl makes the salsa the very best in town, hands down. That stuff was incredible. Pollo Loco: strips of chicken cooked down in a red sauce that had lots of flavor and a nice kick of heat. The chicken was tender, and the heat elevated slightly with each bite. It was served with tortillas and rice and beans. Carnitas: Just the right amount of fat for flavor, and the perfectly cooked pork had an authentic taste. The avocado was a great compliment, and an added drizzle of the homemade hot sauce from earlier was also good. Sides: Neither of us liked the rice or beans very much. They lacked flavor, but weren't very important on the plate in comparison to the meat portions. The waitress was attentive and friendly, but still learning. We were most impressed with the manager that checked on us a couple of times and noticed how much we were enjoying our meal. When we bragged on the hot sauce, he brought us a small to-go cup to accompany our leftovers. He seemed very genuinely pleased that we liked the food so much. The restaurant interior has changed significantly since I was in there last, now having brick walls and all new decor. It was clean and inviting. *After our delicious meal a couple of weeks ago, we returned for a post-church Sunday afternoon meal with our daughter. I ordered the Taquitos Mexicanos, and they were not crispy or flavorful. The beans were 100% better, with plenty of salt and flavor. My daughter ordered fish tacos, but received steak tacos that were very overcooked with a burned flavor to them. She wasn't able to eat her meal. The carnitas today were 90% fat, and it was uncomfortable to watch every bite be chewed and then spit into a napkin. We had the same waitress that didn't speak English well enough for us to get things corrected, so we just paid and left. It wasn't the wonderful experience we had before, and was much more expensive without lunch menu prices since it was Sunday (the only day without lunch discounts).”
