“This was our second stay at the Queen Victoria for my wife's birthday. We had such a great time last year that we had to come back. The rooms are decorated with their own unique style but very appropriate to the Victorian period. The staff is incredible! They even remembered us from last year. They go above and beyond to make their guests comfortable and are very accommodating to helping you with any needs or booking a reservation to a great local restaurant. The location couldn't be any better as you are within walking distance to the beach or shopping and restaurants. It's such a great place to go for a weekend or short getaway because the environment is so relaxing! If you visit Cape May and don't book at the Queen Victoria, you are missing a large part of your vacation experience! I rated them 5 stars but if I could I would give them 10 stars!”

“Great addition to Cape May ! Super fresh local fish at the counter, with lots of delicious lunch options to choose from. Bonus little farm stand inside with some fresh fruits and veggies, provisions like fresh made bruschetta, seaweed salad, mango salad, chips and pretzels, sauces, desserts, etc. They were super accommodating when I said I needed lobster salad to make some “semi-homemade” rolls at home, priced it out for me by the pound, with rolls and lemons from the indoor farm stand. Grabbed a variety of different chips and was on my way! The family loved the lobster rolls, huge chunks of fresh juicy lobster meat lightly dressed. Very friendly, family owned and operated team. We will definitely be back to try more of their staple sandwiches to bring to the beach!”

“We loved the look and old charm of this beautiful Victorian hotel. - The location was perfect. We enjoyed the beach and were able to walk to shops and dining. - I understand that renovations take time and I was happy to have a room with TVs for the kids. The rooms are BARE, really needs some wall art or something. It had a very sterile feel to it. Also it was advertised as a queen bed and it was definitely a full size. A mini fridge would be a good idea to put in the rooms as well. - We we’re disappointed that the bar area didn’t stay open. We were celebrating our anniversary and had to go to Congress Hall to celebrate. Congress Hall was packed, had entertainment, and was a great time.”

“In town for our ten yr anniversary made reservations and stated we we’re celebrating an anniversary we arrived and there were only about 5 other couples in restaurant we read online dress code was casual elegant not sure why as we were sat on one of two very plain porches our view was of the door to the hostess stand not sure what happened to the elegant dining room advertised the servers wore jeans t shirts and sneakers. The food was ok the coq au vin was decent the potato leek soup bland and the ratatouille over pasta was filling at 30$. Our dessert the lemon blueberry tart was runny. I didn’t expect anything for our anniversary but a better table would of been nice I thought perhaps that was why when they ask in the reservation if you are celebrating anything. Definitely not a special occasion restaurant I would feel totally comfortable dressed in jeans and sneakers.”

“I was very pleasantly surprised by the Beach Shack. I honestly cannot find one bad thing to say. The place was great…. Great location, great amenities, great staff! I had never been to this area before and was not sure what to expect. The room was more than sufficient and very clean. The housekeeping staff was always willing to give you anything that was needed. The beach access was so close and the staff very helpful. The pool was also great and very clean. I watched a gentleman literally sweep and wipe windows and surfaces non stop all day, the place was spotless. I don’t have a dog but I loved seeing all the happy families with their dogs enjoying these accommodations. The Rusty Nail restaurant/bar right nextdoor was ideal. Outside seating with large fire pit as well as a large indoor area and 2 bars. We loved the live music almost every day and night. The wait and hosting staff were very attentive and always kind and friendly. I will highly recommend this place to anyone!”

Pool side bar was open to enjoy just lounging around. Employees were helpful and courteous. The location was ideal being close to many shops and restaurants as well as to the beach. “Upon arrival, we sat outside and didn’t get quick attention of the waitress cos we saw she was busy. but the moment she had a chance, it was a blissful journey all the way to the empty plate we left on the table. We had to move inside to feel the coziness cos it was quite breezy outside. The food took a little to come out but I am glad we gave them a chance cos the moment the plate landed our table, we couldn’t stop eating. The lady who attended to us along with the other staff that came momentarily were so kind that we felt so at home. We ordered two of the crab omelettes and oh boy boy boy, it’s the best omelette we have ever tasted. Some people got up and left cos they felt the wait was too long but I feel that’s a mistake. Even if we had to wait an hour, I would still choose this place over and over again. Lovely. I can’t say enough of that.”

“Wow!!!! After 6 weeks in Cape May I finally had ‘The Meal’ Absolute perfection in every way. Even in midst of a pandemic, Mia found a way to deliver mouth watering, delicious food in a not so normal manner. Really was an amazing meal all around. Buffalo cauliflower, mussels in white wine, blue crab claws, snow crab legs and the fried seafood combo platter= 100% satisfaction and put smiles on all 4 of our faces. BYOB and they were more than happy to put our 3 bottles on ice while we dined. Can’t say enough great things about this off the beaten path delight. It really was perfect”
