“Lined with historical warehouses, the now hip Strip District has a lively mix of iconic Pittsburgh based food shops, all the gifts from Pittsburgh you can dream of, hipster bars and so many spots to eat. Really unique spot in the city that shows its charm & character. It’s not a trip to Pittsburgh without seeing the strip! They have plenty of parking (that’s cheap!) so it’s easy to park & walk around. Really fun vibe in the Strip. We enjoyed our stroll around this vibrant area, taking it all in. Lots of great coffee shops, photo opps & just good vibes all around!”

“I really like proof, the food and vibe is great and I come here for tacos and drinks every Tuesday to see my favorite bartender Brittany who’s fast, personable and makes the best drinks. The brunch on Sunday is great too. I love the fact they always have the game on no matter what season it is so you don’t miss the important games when you’re out. Smoking section is nice too.”

“Papa J’s is my favorite place in Pittsburgh. You must try it!! I stop there every time I am home! Michael and all the staff are EXCELLENT! The food is outstanding, and the wine menu is fantastic. I love getting the wedding soup and carbonara. I wish I could take everyone I know to this awesome establishment. Perfect place for a date night, a time with family, or just to get a meal to treat yourself after a regular day. I wish they had a location in Detroit and I would go regularly. I crave their Gelato all the time. The Veal Meatballs are phenomenal. I’ve also stopped in many times for a slice of pizza when I’m on the go. Cannot wait to come back!!!!! I will be a lifelong supporter and lover of Papa J’s!!!!”

“When I came the store closed early and I was so sad but the young man gave me his wings that he was taking home. They were so delicious! I came back 2 days later for the full experience! The owner was super nice and the wings were good of course. If you live or are visiting Pittsburgh definitely stop by for some delicious WHOLE wings! I would suggest calling first just in case the hours have not been updated. Definitely worth the visit!”

“This is the most promising food spot in Carrick since I moved here 15 years ago. Seriously some of the best tenders I've ever had. They are fresh, moist, and perfectly breaded. Just beware that even the "plain/southern style" tenders are still a little spicy. The waffle fries are also great, as was the cole slaw, if not slightly too heavy on the mayo. I was even a big fan of the hot honey garlic sauce. All in all probably the best meal I've had out of this neighborhood. The prices aren't bad either. I hope they stay for a long time, unlike several previous businesses along this stretch of Brownsville Rd.”

“The customer service is outstanding at this location, the manager and staff are very helpful and friendly! More businesses need to model their customer service after this site. The chicken here is so good , you can get it made fresh! And the dipping sauces are fantastic, such a variety! I became a Coen's member, because I can a fountain drink up to 44 ounces for 99¢ . I would recommend this store site to any family and friends!”

“Absolutely love Ruby’s. We have been here twice now and it’s super convenient as it’s close to home for us. Love the drinks, the special cocktails are always cute and seasonal! The food we have tried has always tasted amazing. I would give them 5 stars but I have to say the pricing is very upscale and too high in my opinion. I agree with a previous review on this topic. We spent more here than we do at most upscale restaurants we visit for anniversaries/birthdays. As much as we love it we will probably only come for one drink and an app next time due to the pricing. Overall a very fun, great experience!”

“My partner and I love dimsum so when we heard there was a new restaurant in Pittsburgh we had to try. We were pleasantly surprised. I loved the atmosphere and vibe and the food we tried was great. We’re definitely coming back to try more dishes. Customer service was also great! (They brought me scissors to make it easier to eat my noodles).”

“Pita Paul’s Gyros is a casual restaurant that is in the food court of Ross Park Mall. It sells not only gyros but also salads, rice, burgers, hotdogs, fries, etcetera. During Lent, this restaurant offered a Lenten menu, and I ordered some foods from it. The employee promptly and politely served me. I thought that the hummus, pita bread, shrimp, fries, and pierogies tasted very good.”

“Lawrence Hall is a great place to go to with friends. The atmosphere was very relaxing. HOWEVER it took an hour to be seated and the food took an about an hour to get there. The food was partially cold which gave me the impression that I was microwaved. EVEN WITH IT BEING partially cold. It was still pretty tasty. I ordered the Bang Bang Bird from Loaded. It was partially cold but still good. I also added the greens my husband ordered from the soul food place because they were so good.”

“I recently had an amazing experience at Layne's Chicken Fingers! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The chicken was absolutely delicious and had the perfect amount of crispiness. I couldn't resist trying their salted caramel milkshake, and let me tell you, it was heavenly! The Texas toast was also a delightful addition to the meal. Now, while the food was outstanding, I do have one small piece of feedback. Their app could use some improvements in terms of user-friendliness. However, this minor inconvenience didn't overshadow the overall great experience I had at Layne's Chicken Fingers. One thing that really stood out to me was the University of Pittsburgh decor inside the restaurant. It added a unique and fun touch to the ambiance. As a fan of the university, I truly appreciated the attention to detail. If you're looking for some mouthwatering chicken, delicious milkshakes, and a cool atmosphere, I highly recommend checking out Layne's Chicken Fingers. You won't be disappointed! 🍗🥤🏈”

“The food at this restaurant is very good, and the service is relatively fast. The brown sugar glutinous rice cakes are served hot and taste delicious when eaten hot. The spicy lotus root is also served hot and is pretty good, with a slightly sour flavor. One serving of grilled fish is enough for three to four people. The dry pot pig intestines are delicious! The restaurant requires climbing stairs, which may not be very convenient for people with disabilities. UPDATES: Cumin beef is good and tasty but hard to chewing. (Spicy) I recommend Pork with chestnut! Sweet, fatty but delicious 🤤”

“I’ve ordered food from here a couple of times. Both times, the food tasted amazing. The smash burger, chicken Philly, Philly cheesesteak, spicy chicken sandwich, chicken sandwich, and fries are all delicious. The owner, Laith, is a wonderful human and I hope his business does extremely well in this area.”

“Really loved the food and the staff, sadly they cut corners with the olive oil and the garlic and you can taste the difference... I'll bump up the score when they fix these unacceptable problems! Edit: September 24, 2023 - they've rectified the olive oil problem but now prices have skyrocketed. It's a cold, cruel world we live in”

“Yesterday my family and I had a take out order. We decided to get the jerk chicken, rice and peas, and cabbage. The jerk chicken has a good level of heat and the sides were a nice portion and very tasty. I was very impressed. The owners were very nice and accommodating. We will be back to support.”

“I wish I could give more than 5 stars for the food. Hands down the best shrimp and grits I’ve ever had in my life. The birria fries were amazing and my friends meals looked as fire as mine. I’d highly suggest trying this place out. The owner Shane was very kind and hospitable. The chef was equally as friendly. This is my new favorite restaurant in South side”

“Dang these waffles are good! Really fresh. Served warm. Lots of choices so it was hard to pick. We went with a 3 pack and some chicken minis. My daughter and I loved them and she is really picky! I wish they had more seating but otherwise this is a must for lunch, brunch or lunch. If they were open after midnight, the Pitt crew would pack this place!”

“Really nice place for a good time and tasty food! I am actually quite impressed with how tasty the food was here. This place serves a variety of food items, from American burgers to Middle Eastern wraps. It seems like they are best known for their saj, so that's what I ordered. I tried the Arabic chicken shawarma saj with French fries. It was delicious! The price was quite fair for the decently large portion. The chicken was cooked well and had nice spices with it. There was a sauce to put it all together. It was creamy and truly delicious. Some nice pickles for crunch, and the wrap itself was also pretty good. Very nice! The French fries were kind of mediocre. They didn't have a ton of flavor to them and weren't that crispy. I would have probably been fine without them, or if I could, would have traded them for another side. All in all, the main course (the saj) was delicious! I definitely recommend this place for some cheap food and a nice experience.”

“I had the veggie burger and I was very surprised. There was so much deliciousness in every bite. I give it 10 stars. I think it’s the best burger I’ve ever had. I didn’t care so much for the fries and mango lemonade. But the white cream sauce was nice.”

“My son and I had lunch here today. Having been wanting to have milk tea for sometime now. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. We indulged and had taro milk bubble tea, vegetarian samosa, mutton chowmein, mutton mono and pork. Sekwa. Very nicely decorated. The staff were very friendly and attentive. It will be our pleasure to return again.”

“Got a last minute reservation here and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The place is very small, so if you’re a larger human, you may have to contort past heads and tables. I had an old fashioned (it was stiff) and they brought us “the bread”. 10/10. We had the lobster rolls, and they’re solid as I’ve had before but absolutely highest marks on the quality of the seafood. I even joked that they must have a “plug” because across all the courses the seafood was the freshest I’ve encountered here. The flavors are there, the textures are there, but everything is technically well done and plays nice together. The dessert deserved its own paragraph. It sat me down. If I could eat one of those every day my life would be made. The butterscotch, the mango… please order it.”

“Where do I start! We learned about this place from a friend who lives nearby. They have a soft opening with the grand opening due in couple of weeks. Had time to chat with one of the owners. They're two friends who are passionate about good food. One of the owners is the chef. They make everything in house from scratch. We're talking hummus, falafel, kibbeh even the pickles. Waleed, the owner we spoke with told us they only use avocado oil for frying and olive oil for everything else. The kibbeh is made by a Syrian lady who works at the restaurant. This makes kibbeh truly authentic. What about taste? We ordered kibbeh, falafel and the cauliflower salad. We ate the kibbeh and falafel in the car, they were so good. We were pleasantly surprised that we found extra goodies in the bag. The owner gave us a plate of orange blosson labaneh with dukkah (a sweet labaneh) and few samples of their own Tahini and bag of fried pita pieces. Excellent place for those looking for a healthy and delicious food. Vegetarian options are almost all of the menu - except kibbeh.”
