“We were in town for a baby shower and decided to go get for brunch on our last day. We arrived and were sat quickly for 1030/11am on a Sunday. We ordered coffee (Not sure if coffee was refillable, but it was never offered and became too hot for me to ask for another cup) and beignets. The beignets are NOT like NOLA, they are more a mushy donut with banana foster on top. They were good, just not exceptional to me to get again. When we ordered I just asked for them, thinking there would be a variety, but they only came out with bananas. So make sure if you want flavors, you ask. Our food came out and everything looked great! My friends who got the Egg Benedict’s said there was a bit more of a lemon taste than they were used to, but they were good. The Banana Foster pancakes were great! I would definitely get them again, but then share another plate. Over all the restaurant was nice! The little downtown atmosphere of Pleasant Hill was quaint, many families around. I would definitely go back for those home style potatoes and a different dish. Very popular place!”

“Benchmark Portavia is my new go-to for a quick bite. I walked in this past Sunday for the first time and discovered that they sell half-price Day Old sandwiches (one mozzarella and one prosciutto). If you are looking for a very quick, cheap bite, that is what you want to get! They are very tasty, simple, and filling. There is a little area near the establishment with benches that I like to sit at when I get food. I have walked in at least three times this past week. Service is also very nice and welcoming, which I have found hard to find since moving to the El Cerrito/Albany area. This is my new favorite local spot.”

“I was so shockingly surprised at how delicious this food was. I went there not knowing what to expect but wanting so good fresh food. This was NOT disappointing. I got the Crispy Fish sandwich, a Dynamite Shrimp Bowl, and Fish and Chips. Everything was FRESH and served HOT. The food came out in a timely fashion. The staff were on point, and the manager came to the kiosk to help me place my order. I was grateful for his attentiveness. The store was very clean, and the restroom was very tidy as well. I will be returning.”

“I hadn’t been in awhile & was wishing there were a good pho place around, so decided to give Tigon a go, after a bit of time has passed. I am so glad I did! It surpassed my expectations in all areas. Delicious, artful, fresh, good size portions and value, and very friendly and attentive service. A bonus, for me, is getting to sit along San Pablo Avenue at a busy intersection and watch the world go by. Lots of seating options and traditional decorations —booths, window seats, large group tables. Thoughtful touches, such as spoon that has a small curve that hooks on the side of the pho bowl! I was hankering for meat, so ordered a build your own beef pho. And, Vietnamese rolls. Everything was so fresh! The menu includes many vegetarian options, too, which is sometimes what I hanker for! I am so happy they are here and seem to be doing well! The restaurant was fairly busy. Would be a great place to meet friends before or after a movie!”

“We have been trying to get down here for a long time and finally managed to do it today. We had checked first to ensure that they had outdoor seating so our puppy would be well taken care of. Staff greeted us outside, got water for the dog. Made sure we had what we needed but we had failed to check to see when the regular menu would kick in. Brunch runs 10 to 1 on weekends and starting at 11:00 the regular menu kicks in. They were willing to prepare us French onion soup while we sat outside which was absolutely beyond delicious. Not iver cooked. Not over salted and then I had the filet black and blue salad and my husband had the grand mare sandwich. Everything was absolutely perfect and we couldn't have been happier. We will definitely be back and we definitely recommend everyone try this”
