“Came here for date night with the hubby on a Wednesday night. The place was pretty empty with two other occupied tables we got seated immediately. We ordered: - 1lb shrimp (shrimp head on) with everything sauce and a side of corn (3 pieces): this was delicious and I recommend ordering. They supply the gloves and bib so that you don’t get your clothes dirty. They even have a hand sanitizer on the table for you afterwards. - pork XLB (6 pieces): this is best eaten when hot and the soup and the feeling were delicious. Recommend trying! - cucumber salad: you can never get cucumber salad wrong, so this was tasty and super refreshing with all the hot dishes we were having that night. - house noodles: love the chewy noodles, but the sauce was a little too spicy for me - green beans: I always love a green bean dish, but this one lacked a bit of flavor, and would not order again. Overall, this place was solid and I will come back. We spent about $75 excluding tips for the meal.”

“This place is located right next to the bart station with a small parking lot in the back. I noticed all the high reviews for their clay pot rice and wanted to try it out. I ordered on my phone for take out since I knew the rice would take a while to cook and planned to just eat there. (I assumed it was cafeteria style based on photos.) When we got there, I realized that you actually order from the table you're seated through a QR code. They also charge an automatic service fee. However, since I ordered prior, the rice was done almost as soon as we were seated. I noticed not many people had ordered rice, but were eating soup noodles as the restaurant is also with grapeholic and social eatery. Since I ordered takeout, the bowls came in foil to go containers. We ordered the eel bowl and pork rib with chicken bowl. We were definitely skeptical of how the food was going to be in the take out containers. But the food was great! The meat was well seasoned with generous portions and went really well with the rice. The rice was cooked perfectly, with the perfect crisp you expect from a clay pot. The bowls are definitely meant to be an individual size. It came with soy sauce, but I felt that the food was salty enough without it. I was really impressed with how the rice came out, considering the food came out in aluminum bowls. I would absolutely order from here again. The food was prepared quickly and really well. I think that the food is really good for take out since you would definitely have to wait at least 20 minutes for the bowl. The only thing I wish was there were some more vegetable options, but for clay pot rice, the food was cooked perfectly and the ingredients were high quality.”

“We tried this 🆕 restaurant in Millbrae for lunch. They have a decent offering for lunch plates 🍽️ at $9.9, which I felt was a great value for both the food quality and the quantity. The tofu with pork was really nice. The steamed rice rolls were a revelation. The braised duck 🦆 with ginger was just okay. Staff is friendly and they try to do their best in spite of some language barriers. We'll definitely return for more!”

The pickled jalapeño and lime is a huge yes for me to balance out the savouriness of the consommé. Their spicy salsa was spot on too, just the right amount of kick. “Come with as many people as you can, so you can order all the items! They are all generously priced. This is a food truck run by the daughter and father/sushi chef of the Sushi Kei family. We pretty much ordered everything-rice balls, curry, a5 wa-gyu don special, fruits sando, and yakisoba pan. The fruit salad in the sando isn't just whipped cream and fruit-its got a slight tang and not too sweet. Highly recommend. The rice ball rice isn't smashed rice and comes with lots of filling unlike the other onigiri that has a mashed rice texture. The chicken katsu was very tender and the sauce had some additional spices which were very good! The rice in all the dishes is high quality and fresh. All the food is anime themed and worth getting just to see the food art. The onigiri is cute and looks back at you while you're eating it. It even comes with kompeito! Check their Instagram for specials (today was A5 wagyudon) and they are closed on rainy days.”

“This was a very good experience just few days ago. Very nicely lit and interestingly positioned place. They have nice area of many tables under red umbrellas outside and plenty of tables inside. Our group of friends took the inside table. The walls are actually glass so siting inside one still can observe the street and it is nice. We all ordered various items on the menu - Tuna Melt sandwich, chicken crispy tenders, garlic fries and pastrami Reuben, and pulled BBQ beef. Portions are very good size. We couldn’t finish them all and the dinner leftovers become the lunch next day. I like their fries very much - they are adequate thickness, so you can later on cook them either on stovetops or in Air Frier - and they keep the moisture and the taste. I like the attention we got from all the servants, always with a smile and they were proactive about all that we might need. The presentation of the meals on the plates is also very good. I used to go to Refuge in San Carlos (it’s very good as well) and I’m glad we found this new one in Hillsdale mall - definitely recommend you to visit and enjoy it!”

“Oysters Happy Hour daily 4-6pm. $1 per oysters. Check with server on what's on the $1 deal, they have selected oysters that are offered at that price. Don't think they are the best oysters. Found some to taste off and they look dehydrated (dry). Guess the price made up the moderate quality oysters, as long as they don't mess up the tummy. Tried the calamaris (2/5), weirdest tasting calamari. Saw they offered like bowls on their menu, might consider coming back to give them another try when I'm having the poke bowl craving.”
