“We had an absolutely phenomenal dinner at Oak Park. Service was perfect; and all the food and cocktails were fantastic. We particularly loved the caviar cones, gnocchi, mushrooms, the filet entree, beet salad, and the duck pasta. I personally really enjoyed the carrot Wellington as well. And we finished with the fancy banana split - very expensive but delicious and has lots of tasty and visually appealing elements. All in all, a very pricey, but fantastic dinner. We will certainly plan to return and try additional items!”

“Unexpected lunch on a Tuesday. BF, 10 year old, and myself. We stopped at 12:30, Not overly busy- we chose to sit outside. There are several options for seating- high tops, booths, patio, bar, etc. Outdoor play area for little kids. A few fire pits. Generous space. Plenty of parking. Nephew had cheeseburger. BF had burger, I had mushroom melt. All good! Fries crispy, salad fresh, soup hot. Our server was great. Attentive without overdoing it. Expensive- everything is these days. $50 for lunch. Then we tipped generously on top. Glad we tried it.”

“This recently opened Mexican Food & Taco Truck offers a culinary experience that is absolutely out of this world. They have an amazing offering beyond the standard fare of your typical Taco Truck. Carnitas and Menudo is available on weekends, and occasionally authentic churros are offered as well. Multiple protein choices are available depending on your preference including chicken, steak, chorizo, al pastor, lengua, tripa, lavio, and shrimp. Additional options include a large nacho and asada fries. Serving sizes are more than generous. Other menu items include Tortas and Deep fried potato tacos for vegetarians. Elote, mexican street corn, is also available. The owners and staff are clearly passionate about providing quality food produced in their immaculately clean truck which is typically parked at Supermart near 63rd and Railroad in West Des Moines. Tacos are served on fresh corn tortillas with seasoned grilled onions, limes, and radish. Chiles Toreados are available on request for a little spice. Every order includes an amazing red and green hot sauce. Quesabirria is available with consome that is honestly the best I have had from any establishment, truck or brick and mortar. They also offer Quesabirria with asada instead which is pictured below. Dipping in the consome delivers a shock to your taste buds you won’t soon forget. Unlike many trucks which are cash only, they not only accept cards but also Apple Pay, which provides additional options not typically available. The prices are a good value for what is offered - many local trucks with similar prices do not seem to carry the same authenticity or quality of ingredients, truly setting this truck apart.”

“I had the treat of trying Tarboosh when I was home over Thanksgiving at the holiday farmers market. I’m originally from Iowa but live in New York and I’ve been on the hunt to find anything as good as Tarboosh since November. Everything is absolutely delicious. The lentil soup is perfection and have been trying to recreate it ever since. The staff is so friendly. This has been added to my list of places I must eat when I’m home visiting. Hoping a permanent location is created soon!”

“Hooray for the Valley Junction Business District that has attracted another family owned local eatery & pub called Bix with the last year. The inside mod to trendy decor has large sports screens, well spaced booths and table top seating. The selectively designed menu was very inviting with fresh made to order entrees. My Turkey Melt was huge with a fresh salad and an excellent server. The wait time and value of my entire meal was reasonable for a deliciously made to order main course. Depending on the time of day your only drawback will be close parking.”

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at this incredible restaurant and I must say, the crab ragoons were absolutely to die for! The crispy exterior gave way to a creamy, flavorful filling that left me wanting more with every bite. And don't even get me started on the fried chicken sandwich - it was hands down the best I've ever had. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked to crispy perfection, sandwiched between two fluffy buns with all the fixings. But what really made my experience memorable was the fantastic service from Tony, the bartender. He was incredibly personable, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. He made great recommendations and really enhanced my dining experience. It's rare to find such outstanding service these days, and it truly made my visit that much more enjoyable. Overall, I can't recommend this restaurant enough. The food is top-notch, the service is exceptional, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I will definitely be returning soon to try more of their delicious offerings.”

“We went for the Snow Globe experience and also my husband's birthday. Had to reserve a month ago but I'm so glad we did. What a magical way to have dinner!! We arrived at 730 for our 8pm reservation (made online) and they sat us 20 minutes earlier! The service was fast and the food was hot + delicious! The cheese curds were delightful, crispy and fluffy inside.. the Nashville hot chicken sandwich was huge and the slaw had a great zip. The Caesar Salad wrap was crisp and fresh. The short rib tacos didn't stand a chance lasting longer than 5 minutes. I loved that fries can be subbed by mashed potatoes, side simple salad or cottage cheese without an increase in price too! The GG seasonal beer is superb and pairs well with dinner. Overall a wonderful, festive experience that brought us in and the food, service and beer will bring us back again! Happy holidays!!”

“Such a good option here in Des Moines! Sat on the patio by the fire with some buddies and gave every aspect of their menu a try. Thankful for the waitress who gave me her recommendations to try and even taught me a little about Big Grove's process. A memorable night for both me and my friends.”

“A great spot for breakfast or brunch just on the edge of downtown Des Moines, IA. Friendly staff and great service. Everytime I come here it's always busy, which is a great sign. I do recommend that you put yourself on the waiting list in advance to reduce your waiting time. Overall, fantastic spot and delicious food!”

“We were driving through Des Moines and were searching for a coffee shop - Zanzibar's stood out as a great place to try and we were so glad we stopped here!! Incredible mocha breve and sweet cream coffee - my only regret is that I didn't order multiples!! The flavor of the beans were crafted and curated so well - I wish we lived closer because this place would be a staple for us if we lived in the Des Moines area. Oh, and did I mention the banana bread?? Seriously amazing - some of the best I've ever had - great flavor, wasn't dry, and a substantial sized slice. The place was packed out too, so you knew from the start that it was a great place. The baristas were focused yet friendly and I felt comfortable asking questions if needed. The next time we're in the area, we'll definitely be back and I'll know to double up on my order too!”

“"Indulging in a shake at GAV Nutrition was an absolute delight! From the first sip to the last, the flavors were rich and satisfying. The menu boasts an impressive variety, and I tried the Cheesecake Strawberry Shake which was an absolute showstopper. The incredible taste but also the attention to detail in presentation. The shakes are crafted with precision, creating a feast for both the eyes and taste buds. The staff were friendly and efficient, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience. Whether you're a shake enthusiast or just looking to treat yourself, is the perfect spot. It's now my go-to place for a sweet escape, and I highly recommend it to anyone craving a delicious and satisfying shake experience!”

“I’ve had this place on my list for a while and finally decided to try it out. This place is in a great location as many places on Ingersoll have terrible parking but as it is just across the street from the office max parking lot there isn’t an issue. I went in around lunch time and the place was really empty as it is mostly a dinner restaurant. I would highly recommend this place to a group or family as this would be a great restaurant to socialize in due to the in table grill and adequate table space. Their bar also seemed very stocked and modern. The food did not come out the fastest roughly 20 minutes but it was exceptional and I loved the pork rolls very flavorful and crunchy. Overall not the greatest place if you are just looking for a quick spot over lunch but seems to be a great pick for a family dinner or after work with some friends.”

“Being a small town girl, and after having just a rough day and after getting lost, but finally making it to the destination to get some Starbucks 😂 they were all so kind. It really made my day. My drink was made perfect and I'm super picky and all my drinks aren't on the the menu so they really have to listen and they did great. My drink was made perfect, the service was great. I'd definitely recommend this Starbucks and I'd definitely come back if I'm ever in the big city”

“The food here is amazing. I had the Seafood Chimichanga. My husband had the Fajita Nachos. My son had the Seafood Fajita. We had others in the party, too, and they all really enjoyed their meals. The margaritas are fantastic - especially the jalapeño margarita! And the servers are wonderful. It ran about $120 for four adults and 2 kids - more than fair. We will be returning!!!”

“Our group of 7 had a fantastic breakfast experience at The Breakfast Club in Ankeny! From the moment we walked in, the service was top-notch. Friendly and attentive staff made us feel welcome and comfortable. But the real star of the show was the food! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. We had a variety of dishes, including the Breakfast Burrito, Bananas Foster French Toast, Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs, The Notorious B&G, Juan Denver Omelette, Panchodilla, and my personal favorite, the Jamaican Me Hungry. Each dish was fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The portions were generous, leaving no one hungry or disappointed. Even the house coffee deserves a shout-out – rich and flavorful, the perfect way to start the day. The ambience at The Breakfast Club is another highlight. The retro and bright atmosphere creates a fun and trendy vibe, further enhanced by the great music playing in the background. It's a place that makes you want to linger and enjoy your company and your meal. Overall, The Breakfast Club gets a perfect 5 stars from our group! We can't wait to return and try more of their extensive menu. Highly recommended!”

“As someone who pays a LOT of attention to macros, it's so nice to be able to pick up food quickly and know exactly what you're getting. It's not a gourmet mouth-watering five-star, but it is a place I can count on to consistently offer healthy options. I also appreciate their hours and their customer service was great. I'll be back again and again.”

“We had a great experience here. Went in with high expectations since I've been to the Drake location a few times, and they definitely met the mark. Their taco pizza was phenomenal! It's SO good. Breaksticks were amazing. Pepperoni popper was delicious. We also got the hog wild, husband said that was good, too. Friends got the brownie and we tried it, it was a bit dry. Service was great. We were there awhile chatting with friends, and they walked around and asked people how their food was and if they needed anything. The place was clean, bathrooms clean also.”
