“Speaking from experience, Fidel’s Authentic Jamaican Restaurant has the taste 👅 or true Jamaican food. I was so impressed that I ordered the same plate the next day. What I like most is that I order my Oxtails, white rice and cabbage with extra gravy and a half. My food was juicy from the first bite to the last. I am completely satisfied and I’m about to order my Oxtails for a third time. “Went on a Thursday evening with a friend. Choose your own table. Not a lot, but plenty for the moment. Small cozy area and was noticed by the bartender/ server fairly quickly. The menu is located of the table by QR code for quick access, except they did t have a drink menu which was a big drawback for me. Not knowing options or prices is not the best, especially if the bartender does not have some specials or favorites at the ready to suggest to you. The drinks are good but a bit pricey. Their house liquors are top shelf so prepare to pay for that. The food was decent. We ordered wings as an appetizer and two plates for dinner. They came out within two minutes of each other with the wings taking about 20 mins. Wings were spot on with a tasty mango habanero sauce. The bleu cheese dipping sauce was ok, while the ranch was flavorless. The fish sandwich looked ok, but upon eating it was way too much breading. A bit disappointed with it overall and the side salad was served on the paper which didn’t eat well after adding the tasteless ranch- the paper begins to disintegrate :-(. The Buffalo shrimp wrap was was very tasty but we changed the sauce to the sweet hot chipotle. Small portion of fries, but overall tasty. The music was great and the atmosphere is good except for while we were dining, there was a gentleman fixing the tv on a latter about 3 feet behind us. It was kind of disruptive. Overall I would give this place another visit and try some different menu options. The service was pretty good and she was very friendly.”

“I had a great time but I would suggest that you don’t go on tuesdays. When I got there at 8pm I was told I had to put my name on a list and someone would call me when a lane opened. At 10 I went to see if any lanes where opened because I seen about 15 lanes opened. I was told to wait 10 more mins so the lanes can be cleaned and I was never called! I left at 11 because they were about to close. That didn’t sit well with me at all and the drinks (2.99 Long Island teas) were all juice! The drinks was full of of heartburn and no love so TUESDAY WILL FOREVER BE A NO GO! I decided to go one more time and had a ball! Kevin our bartender was so funny and very nice and helpful and knowledgeable about the drinks. The night went smoothly and I was very happy about that! And FYI the men have to use the bathrooms that are located outside!!!! I hope the bowling alley fix this problem because it was hard for our older people to climb up the-porter John stairs to use the bathroom. Please fix this asap!”

“This is hands down the best Venezuelan fusion cuisine down here in Charlotte, the vibes of the restaurant are immaculate, the service is amazing the serves are very attentive. The food is amazing, as a native Venezuelan I really enjoy the fusion with Asian cuisine is my favorite. You can really tell they put effort and care into making the restaurant clean and sanitized for both the customers and staff. “I couldn’t be happier that this place now exists in my neighborhood. As a gluten free vegan it is so hard to get organic, fresh and healthy food around these parts, especially for a good price. They even have loyalty rewards for points and I’ve received so many free bowls already. The portions are so big they are absolutely a full meal. They use zero refined sugars, fake dyes or any added junk you find in so many products these days. They even grind their own nuts on premise to make fresh nut butters. Even my vegan children love it because they get to eat their fresh fruit on a cool surfboard. The atmosphere is like a vacation and the staff is absolutely the most knowledgeable, passionate and friendly team I’ve met in a long time in the food service industry. They know my family by name as we are regular’s because how could you not be. To give this establishment a bad review is laughable. They are the best around and I plan to get my weekly (non-guilty healthy delicious) nourishment and friendly service smiles there for a very long time 🙏🏻”

“Only downside to Vicious Biscuit is its location on the far side of town from us. Otherwise we would probably eat there every weekend. One, the people that work there are wonderful; we always get the best service. Two, the food is delicious. My husband is in love with the fried green tomatoes, while I think their grits are the best I’ve had outside of my own kitchen. We always order way more than we can eat and bring home the leftovers; be warned the biscuits are huge. I recommend the sausage gravy biscuit but get a half order unless you’re really, really hungry, and the pups…the pumpkin ones are limited but wonderful. We liked them even more then the beignets. But realistically you cannot go wrong here. Oh, and their coffee is suuuuuuuperb.”

I tried the Spicy Chicken bowl and was delighted by the nuance of the spice along side the salt and vinegar flavors of the vegetables and kimchi. “Great vibe! Plays music while eating. The turkey leg was terrific, but the side items were ok (yams, canned Glory greens, and mac). You will have an 18 percent gratuity added to your bill. Each party is given a two-hour limit to stay in the venue/table. We were told to get up and leave by a security guard. There are no signs anywhere in the restaurant that states that to warn people.”

“This place is beautiful. Walking in and see a stunning bar with high lofted ceilings. Seating all the way around the bar, table section, patio, and a private room in the back. The food was delicious. I was not expecting the octopus to come in such huge chunks. The salmon was made perfectly and melted in my mouth with every bite. The karidopita came with a scoop of ice cream and was delicious to top it off. Service was great. Staff is amazing. Highly recommend this place!”
