“I was told to give this place a try by some co-workers. So I pulled in after work on Friday, 6/23/23. Now I’m very picky about my pizza and my coffee. Leo’s makes the best pizza that I’ve had in the entire South East! I was pleasantly surprised. An entire large pizza did not last on my commute home. I ate the whole thing! If that wasn’t enough, Leo’s could do coffee alone. That was the best cup of Joe that I’ve ever had!”

This visit we had lavender lattes and picked up two bags of freshly roasted beans to be able to brew the awesome blends at home. The scones - don’t stop in for coffee without having one ( or two) of their freshly baked scones. We ordered three and split them between the two of us. We had the cherry lemon, triple berry and the tomato basil with cheddar. All three were filled with flavor and melted in your mouth. We are visiting Lake Lure for the weekend and drove over to experience Openroad for our morning coffee time. It was well worth the drive over and definitely a place we will visit again.”

So yeah I know that’s a bit petty but that’s still 5 miles off your trip ~ 15 mins so unless you’re local or not in a rush, maybe look for another with direct highway access.”

We were asked if we thought the price was fair, wanted to pay less, or if we wanted to volunteer an hour of work to pay for our meal. We thought the price was fair and had our breakfast Biscuits. A mound of homemade spicy cheddar biscuit with a thick hand pressed sausage patty and eggs. This was a local contributor to the community. Help locals in need while serving great food.”

Very robust and love the designs on top. The chocolate cake with almond buttercream is a nice end to it all. William at the front desk greeted us with a smile and was very helpful with all of the questions we had. The valet was great as well -he helped with finding the best hiking trails in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Fast and efficient service too. The coffee bar/barista and in-house restaurant were wonderful. Everyone we met was friendly and eager to help. The room provided plenty of space for 4 people. The decor is clean and contemporary with nods to classic finishes. Overall a pleasurable experience! “Came here by chance just by walking in downtown Bryson city. We were here for new years and my wife loves coffee so we came across this place and it didn't disappoint. The only thing that bummed me out was the fact we came on a Sunday and they don't do fried pies on the weekend. Never had one but saw the sign and said that sounded good, but went in and saw the "no fried pies" on Sunday but I ended up getting a pecan cinnamon type of pastry that was delicious and the coffee was the best we had while at Bryson city. This is a DEFINITE GO if you're in the area.”

“We are so glad we found this adorable bakery during our visit to ride The Polar Express! The owners were so sweet. They let my husband try the red velvet coffee before he ordered it. He can’t stop talking about it! We also ordered three cupcakes, and they were the best we’ve ever had! I also heard the owner telling a customer that she was so sorry she didn’t have a certain cupcake that she was wanting, but they would be glad to make it if she’d be around in a couple of hours. The side was a hot shrimp bisque with bits of shrimp in it. We finished the meal of with a maple walnut dipped ice cream in a cinnamon cone. This place also has 2 green houses, a wonderful gift shop and soon an Amish furniture store. An absolute must go stop. Make it a date, make it a stop on your vacation, hey, make it your vacation. “Was so hungry I forgot to take a picture of my Tuesday special. Had Country Style Chicken Pie, with 2 sides and choice of bread. Had green beans and pickled beets. Everything was excellent. The pickled beets were served cold and I'd forgotten that fact, but thoroughly enjoyed them. Ice tea is extra. If in the area again soon, I'll be back. I'd recommend.”
